Convert from raw

I accidentally took photos in Raw with my canon rebel t2i.  Now, I have to convert so I can get them developed.  Struggling to understand this.  Can anyone give me simple instructions.  I'm a tactile learning and reading instructions is so confused thanks in advance

Get ready.

Think of Lightroom as you would a darkroom old school; It allows you to 'develop' your RAW images, which are old-school, digital equivalent of photographic negatives. You pull your RAW images in Lightroom and then start tweaking using controls of Lightroom. Thought that the image looked a little too underexposed? Drag the exposure slider to the right.

Once you have finished 'developing', you export the RAW image in a format that is suitable for its target. (for example, if you intend to show this picture on the Internet, you would use a format such as JPEG).

Photoshop is a whole other animal. This is the standard de facto image editing. If you're just into straight-up photography, you might never need. If you are at all the creative types to do several layers of composite materials or simply to remove an item from an image, Photoshop is the tool to do it with.

Photoshop uses a plug-in called Camera Raw to open RAW images as Photoshop cannot open RAW images on its own. Camera Raw workflow is extremely similar to the Lightroom workflow; It "develops" RAW images. I would say that Lightroom is Camera Raw with a fancy graphical user interface, more cataloguing and some other features.

Some use Lightroom to develop their RAW images, and some use Camera Raw (with Photoshop).

With all that is said, my suggestion is to start with Lightroom since you talk like you're new to all this. You'll probably want to shoot in a RAW image don't care you and play with the controls of Lightroom to get an idea of what does what.

  • Convert previously converted from raw with Adobe DNG converter files?

It seems that I'm not able to convert my raw files that have already been previously converted to DNG with the dng converter.  I am wanting to start editing everything new with the raw image, but before I can start editing a raw image, I have to convert it to a .dng.  Why doesn't the converter program let me convert the raw file again and give me the opportunity to appoint differently than the first file?  What I am doing wrong?

If not, is it possible I can say ACR (whether in bridge or photoshop) to get rid of all the changes made on the first converted .dng file and start over again with image in camera?

    Thanks for any help!

I don't know why your DNG Converter has stopped working.  You have successfully updated to a later version?  But you don't need to go through this process again.  In Bridge, just click on the images and there is an option to reset the Camera Raw settings.  Or, inside of Camera Raw, press the Alt key and a button will change to "Reset".  In both cases, all the camera raw settings are erased, giving you the image as it has been downloaded.

  • Why CS4 will not open DNG files converted from raw Olympus E - M1 files?

For several years, I was able to use the DNG Converter to convert. My E - M1 Olympus ORF raw files and then open them for treatment in CS4. Suddenly CS4 quit recognizing these DNG files saying "Photoshop could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file"

I have not changed preferences. I use E - M1 v3.0, DNG Converter v8.3.0.141 on a Mac. I deleted the converter DNG several times, even reinstalled an earlier version, but nothing does not change.

However, CS4 will open the converted DNG files from Pentax raw. PEF files of my K-5. Weird. This is the Olympus raw DNG conversions that will not open.

I can view the DNG files converted into question in the preview of the Mac just fine, but CS4. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Don't forget the compatibility of the DNG Converter is defined to provide support for your version of ACR:

    Devices supported by Camera Raw

The 760D has been first of all fully supported in Camera Raw 9.0.

Download and install Camera Raw 9.1.1 which is the latest version of Camera Raw, which is compatible with the CS6.

In Photoshop, click Help > updates.

Check if the correct version is installed in Photoshop by

Mac: Photoshop > about Plug-Ins > Camera Raw

Win: Help > about Plug-Ins > Camera Raw

If this update mechanism is not working, try to manually install Camera Raw 9.1.1

  • How to convert my raw Filws extracted from my new Nikon d750 camera using Photoshop elements 11?

How to convert my raw Filws extracted from my new Nikon d750 camera using Photoshop elements 11? How to convert my

The D750 is not yet supported. It may be a few weeks before Adobe proposes an update to the latest versions of Photoshop/Elements. Perhaps in October/November.

They generally provide a pre-release version of a few weeks in advance (any day now, I hope), but as far as I KNOW, they do not usually work on Photoshop Elements.

  • NTFS drive got converted to RAW disk

My NTFS driver converted to RAW and I can't access it, would you please help?

How I can access without lossing my data!

    Hello Mohamed,

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.

Thank you for details on the issue.

The NTFS file system provides the best performance and security for data on hard disks and partitions or volumes that

the FAT file system used in some earlier versions of Windows.

Raw disk is used to designate a hard disk access to a raw, binary level, under data from partition level and using file system in the MBR.

I suggest you to refer to this article and check if it helps.
    Reference:
Convert a hard disk or partition to NTFS format
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/convert-hard-disk-partition-NTFS-format#1TC=Windows-7

    Important notes:
After you convert a partition to the NTFS format, you cannot convert it back. If you want to reuse FAT filesystem on the partition, you will need to reformat the partition, which erases all data on it.

Some earlier versions of Windows cannot read data on local NTFS partitions. If you need to use an earlier version of Windows to access a partition on the computer, do not convert it to NTFS.

Although the risk of corruption or loss of data during a conversion is minimal, you must back up all data on the partition before you begin.

    I hope this information helps.

Please let us know if you need more help.

    Thank you

  • DNG, we get from RAW in Camera RAW files, loss of detail?

The HDR or panoramic DNG we get from RAW in Camera RAW files, are they similar to a RAW file, or they suffer losses of quality?

The merged pano is a DNG, always a raw file with latitude of intact setting. It's not a RGB file made.

Of course, you will get the usual perspective correction in executives "side", with the associated resampling, but apart from that, you lose nothing.

  • Maintaining links between PDFs converted from source (Word) files

    Hello

If I have two Word files and manage the links between them (hyperlink on one specific bookmark on the other), is there a way to easily remember (or reproduce) these links on PDF files converted from Word files?

Here's what I've tested so far.

-On the source file, the format of the hyperlink is "{filename} .docx #{bookmarkname}. I changed the extension of docx to pdf.

-Source/target to convert Word files to PDF format.

    -The hyperlink on the converted source PDF is in the format "file:///{targetpath}/{targetfile}%23{bookmarkname"}

-When I click on the hyperlink on the converted source PDF, security warning pops up with "this document tries to connect to...". »

-If I click on 'Allow' on the pop-up, the web browser opens with "cannot display this page" error. "

I guess that by using the hyperlink is not a viable solution. If the links do not work, do the following manually?

    - source file Word, remove all hypertext links (because they do not work on PDF even when)

    -convert files to PDF format

-on target of PDF, the value named destinations on the points corresponding to Favorites

-on the source PDF, find points corresponding to hyperlinks and define the links to destinations named on target PDF.

(Actually the situation is more complicated because files are shared at the chapter level and they should be merged for each new version.)

If there is a simpler method to achieve this, I would appreciate your help.

    Hi antjeh37833361,

Could you please export a Jpeg image and see if it exports.

Also try to export the RAW image in Jpeg format on the desktop and then see if it exports.

Please upgrade to the latest version 5.7.1 if Lightroom you are currently on 5.7

If the installation program itself fails to open and run. Download it again maybe your current download is corrupted. Also, what OS you are using and you are an administrator with permission to install.
