Converting a string to date

I run the following select statement in Oracle SQL Developer.

Select I_NOTE_DESIGS. ENDDATE AS END_DATE

However in my results date hows as 1 April 29.

I was wondering if there is a way to convert this course to another date string that is to say: I would like that the date of this column to show 2029-04-01. I'm not bothered if the time out at the end, as I have a program that can remove.

Kind regards

  • How to convert a string of data to a table 1 d

    Dear all,

    I wonder if someone can help me.

    In the attached Elf, I have my program (in labview 8.6) who read the updates and the data of temperature for the time.

    I want to use temperature update in a calculation.  How can I get the new temperature I think it's in a format string and convert it into table 1 d?

    I tried, but the number I got the temperature wasn't the same temperature, which is shonw in the section of the program data.

    Could someone help me please?

    Kind regards

    You do not read the temperature, you read a binary file. You seem to be assuming that the string format, but do you really know? Nobody here can say since you do not have the file, if it is you need to use one of the functions of conversion of the string. And please, get rid of the local data variable. You're already usin shift registers. Do the same with the data from the file.

  • Problem with convert the string to date using DateTimeStringConverter

    Hello

    I would like convert string date (JJ/MM/AAAA) - it is useful to compare dates in TableColumns.

    so I use DateTimeStringConverter (the string "01/11/2014" is a value of date picker)

    DateTimeStringConverter format = new DateTimeStringConverter (Locale.FRANCE,

    "dd/MM/YYYY");

    Date d1 = format.fromString("01/11/2014");

    D1. ToString()

    "I do not get the right date, but that date =" Mon Dec 30 00:00:00 THIS 2013!

    I don't understand what the problem is (which in fact should not be a problem)?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

    Fabrice

    You have an error in the spec use format ' dd/MM/YYYY' instead of 'dd/MM/YYYY '.

    DateTimeStringConverter f = new DateTimeStringConverter(Locale.FRANCE, "dd/MM/yyyy");
    Date d1 = f.fromString("01/11/2014");
    System.out.println(d1.toString()); // --> Sat Nov 01 00:00:00 CET 2014

    If you do not need long, I would use DateStringConverter

    ...

    You are contradicting yourself.  All dATEs have the same format, and it's nothing like YYYYMMDD or DD/MM/YYYY.

    If you need a DATE, use TO_DATE:

    To_date (str, 'YYYYMMDD')

    but it will not be in the format MM/DD/YYYY

    If you want to convert a string into a format to another string in another format, and then use the string manipulation functions to reorganize secondary channels, for example

    REGEXP_REPLACE (str

    '(\d{4})(\d{2})(\d{2})'

    , "\2/\3/\1".

    )

    or

    SUBSTR (str, 5, 2) | '/' ||

    SUBSTR (str, 7, 2) | '/' ||

    SUBSTR (str, 1, 4)

    but it will not be a DATE.

    If you were certain that str contains valid data, then you can call TO_DATE to convert a DATE and then call TO_CHAR to convert the DATE to a string in the format MM/DD/YYYY.  I do not recommend, because it is likely that the strings would not be valid.  It's one of the reasons why you should use DATEs to store the date information.

  • Converting a string to a Date using an insert after trigger.

    Hi people:

    I have a table that has a column (called DATE_FED) that must be registered in the format string.

    Once all data insertion after trigger is triggered that copies of some columns in another table.

    The problem is that the insert after trigger will not work because the table is copied in stores DATE_FED data in a Date format.

    I'm trying to understand how to use the TO_DATE function to convert the NEW. Data DATE_FED to a Date format and the trigger does not work.

    Here is the trigger, as it is currently worded:

    Create or replace TRIGGER "FARM". "' BALES_FED_PAST_TRIG ' AFTER INSERT"FARM ". ' ' BALES_FED_PASTURE ' 'OLD' NEWS like 'NEW' FOR EACH LINE REFERENCING OLD declare

    BEGIN

    insert into BALES_STORAGE (BALES_LOST_SUBTRACTED, HARVESTING, CUTTING, STACKYARD, DATE_MOVED, FED_ID, BALE_YEAR) values (: new.) BALES_FED,: new. CULTURE: new. CUTTING: new. STACKYARD,: new. DATE_FED,: new. FED_ID,: new. BALE_YEAR);

    END;

    This trigger worked until I had to change the column type of DATE_FED from the Date to a string.

    I tried things like:

    TO_DATE (DATE_FED): = GCNEW. DATE_FED;    in a statement, but I don't get it.

    Summary:

    I need an insert after trigger to convert NEW. DATE_FED (a string) again. DATE_FED (a Date).

    Tables:

    BALES_FED_PASTURE is the table, the trigger to run.

    BALES_STORAGE is the table the trigger is to copy certain columns.

    I thank very you much for any help.

    If you book the date in a format string. Bad design. In any case, what is this format? Register you as hh24:mi:ss dd/mm/yyyy or DD-me-YYYY, or... You what it is, you must use this format in your trigger:

    insert into BALES_STORAGE (BALES_LOST_SUBTRACTED, HARVESTING, CUTTING, STACKYARD, DATE_MOVED, FED_ID, BALE_YEAR) values (: new.) BALES_FED,: new. CULTURE: new. CUTTING: new. STACKYARD, TO_DATE(:new.) DATE_FED, "whatever-format-is"),: new. FED_ID,: new. BALE_YEAR);

  • How to convert String to Date

    hell there everyone,

    I have a question which is:

    How to convert a string that we get by reading an XML in the instance of date value type?

    So there is a XML that modifiedDate as an attribute on a node of the XML and how I put this value in an instance variable date?

    the timeformat in the XML file is: mm/dd/yyyy hh: mm: = > 31/12/2010 23:57:46

    I chose this time format because I want to use the method . parse() which always causes an error, but that's another topic...,.

    hope I was clear on the issue,

    Thanks in advance for the help.

    First of all, you should watch the Date object constructor to find out how to specify different parameters.

    public void Date (yearOrTimevalue:Object, month:number, date:number = 1, hour:number = 0, minute:number = 0, second:number = 0, millisecond:number = 0)

    Then you need to determne how to break the string by using the String.Split method.  The first split() should be the space between the date and time, the second for the slashes in the date and the third for the colon in time.

    Then you come to take each of these paintings of substrings and feed them in the constructor as the Number() values.

    If you remain unsure how to do this, look at the different terms that I have identified in the help documents and you will find them all explained with examples.

  • [Oracle 8i] How to convert a string (timestamp) in a date?

    I find it difficult to know how to convert a string to a date time stamp (or possibly several).

    The timestamp is 20 positions, character (NOT NULL, CHAR (20))
    in the format: YYYYMMDDHHMMSSUUUUUU
    where Y = year, M = month, D = day, M = Minutes, S = seconds and U = microseconds

    The reason why I want to convert it is so that I can compare a timestamp to each other (that is, I want to be able to find the MIN (timestamp), MAX (timestamp) and make comparisons of inequality).

    Is this possible?

    Thanks in advance for the help on this!

    Hello

    As Damorgan said, if all you want to do is find which is the earlier or later, then you can just compare the strings: they are in a format where it works.

    If you need to do other things, such as compare to today date or see the difference between two of your lines of days, you will need to convert it to date. (He has no reason to convert them to numbers).

    A new TIMESTAMP data type, which manages the fractions of a second, was introduced in Oracle 9.
    Since you use Oracle 8 (depending on your subject line), or it must be
    (1) ignores the microseconds, or
    (2) use a separate column for microseconds.

    Whatever it is, use TO_DATE to convert the first 14 characters in DATE:

    TO_DATE ( SUBSTR (txt, 1, 14)
            , 'YYYYMMDDHH24MISS'
            )

    where txt is your column of type CHAR.
    To convert microseconds to a number (between 0 and 999999):

    TO_NUMBER (SUBSTR (txt, 15))

  • How do to convert the string (with the Hex data) in number?

    Hello

    I use TestStand 3.5 to automate a few test cases associated with boot loader.

    The requirement is that I need to read the value in some places for specific address. The values of these addresses are stored in a hexadecimal format.

    We have a step customized in TestStand through which we can read these values by address, but she returns as the type "String".

    For example, the value to 0 x 0000008 is 000001 B 2, and he returned in Locals.Value_Read as "000001 B 2" in the string.

    Is it possible, I can convert the string "000001 B 2" to a number?

    I tried to use the function-> val (locals. Value_Read), but it is return 0 as TestStand figures that the input string is not representing the valid number.

    Please help me with this.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Niraj.

  • Converts a string (float single precision) in decimal

    Hello

    I use reading series base and write vi to communicate with a device.  The answer I receive (shown in hexadecimal format) is 4606 8D3B, which from what I understand (this discussion: http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/string-to-number-conversion-a-very-interesting-observation/m-p/32170... ) the data is not actually hexadecimal but rather binary and appears just hex for the user.

    My camera manual says that this information is "Float - 4-byte ANSII standard simple precision, low to high" and I'm trying to convert this string to a decimal value.  (it should be 0.004 or e-3 xx 4)  So far I've written a program that separates the bytes in a table of 4 bytes, each binary converts and then separate all binary bits and try to group return the binary bits in the exponent and the mantissa to calculate the value, but it seems rather convoluted and I hope that there is a more simple function in that all this is done automatically.  Also, since the answer is low to high, I understand that I must first return the number of 3B8D 0646 make high to low, but I think I did that already, it's just the conversion that I do not know how.

    Any help would be appreciated, thanks

            FileConnection fconn = null;

            }
            return result;

    I am able to print the result of the chain of my test file so it prints something like "1 2 3 12 14 2 42.

    I tried to use string.split("") as this seems to be what is generally done when I have the problem of google. When I try this however I get an error "the split (String) method is not defined for the String type.

    I just want to know if there is a way to convert this string to an array of integers (ints), or maybe is it possible to change my readTextFile method so that it will display the data in a table or working with the array of bytes to get distinct integers.

  • Date conversion madness! String to date and vice versa

    Hello, I am working on an application targeting the OS version 4.5.x. I read a lot of messages and the links on this topic and can't seem to make the correct code.

    OK, here's the problem. I ask a timestamp date string to a server. The timestamp is the local time on the server (IS / PST etc.) and not GMT.

    My application must take time and subtract a number of days ranging from 1 day to 1 month. to get a "start" date The application must then provide the start and end date in a string format that it understands. Seems simple isn't?

    Here's the catch, however the time stamps should NOT be changed by the local what is using the device. For example, a device in Italy can contact the server located in Ottawa and ask a timestamp, the calculations shouldn't care about DST or time zone. Just take the supplied date and subtract a fixed number of days from her. Nothing more or less. This proved incredibly hard to do. first the HttpDateParser.parse (ServerTimeStamp) will be the subject of Date GMT and my problem is back to the zone specified in ServerTimeStamp.

    Thanks for any help in advance.

    My method

    public String getDAFIXMLRange (String ServerTimeStamp) {}
    String szRange;
    First analyze the incoming date and record them at the time of the last election.
    Day DAFIEndDate = new Date (HttpDateParser.parse (ServerTimeStamp));
    m_lLastPollTime = DAFIEndDate.getTime ();

    define the offset. Pre-programmed for simplification.
    lOffsetNumberOfSeconds long = 2 * 24 * 60 * 60;

    Calculate the start date by subtracting the offset. Multiply by 1000 to convert to milliseconds!
    Date DAFIStartDate = new Date (DAFIEndDate.getTime () - (lOffsetNumberOfSeconds * 1000));

    !!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW the DATEFORMAT OBJECT is used to get the output format ' yyyy-MM-dd' you HH: mm: "without the marker of time zone. The server knows that it is local to it. !!!!!!!!!!

    Now format the objects date as a string that includes the XML server.
    DateFormat DafiDateFormat = DateFormat.getInstance (); ' YYYY-MM-dd' you HH.

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS THE PART I'M CONFUSED on, with the HELP of zone to create the good date. !!!
    Time zone tz = TimeZone.getTimeZone ("IS");
    int adjEST = tz.getRawOffset ();

    Convert 'em in string format.
    String szDAFIStart = DafiDateFormat.format (DAFIStartDate);
    String szDAFIEnd = DafiDateFormat.format (DAFIEndDate);

    Replace the date calculated in the end segment ranges date XML.
    szRange = statItems.replaceAll (XML_DATERANGE, "TAGSTARTTIME", szDAFIStart);
    szRange = statItems.replaceAll (szRange, "TAGENDTIME", szDAFIEnd);
    Return szRange;
    }

    Hello

    Yes would be better if the server could provide you date to the GMT time zone, or date as a long.

    But if you can't ask the case on the server, one way might be to manually parse your string and create a new date of parameter values in a calendar, something like this

    Calendar cal = Calendar.GetInstance ();

    Cal.Set (Calendar.DAY_OF_MONTH, date)

    Cal.Set (Calendar.MONTH, month-1)

    Cal.Set (Calendar.YEAR, year);

    ' set the new time with the values, you must cal.setTime (cal.getTime ()-,...);

    and then put the date with SimpleDateFormat.

    I think that this could be a solution if you know the format string you recived that date and it won't change.

    I'm not sure but maybe it could be a solution.

    Kind regards
