Copy of Acrobat Reader text columns

I know that you can use the ALT key while selecting a text box with the mouse and therefore manually copy and paste the player text columns in separate columns of text in Excel, but it's quite tedious.

Highlighting a section in an entire page that is displayed as columns and then paste into Excel will most likely result a single column with all the text in a line in a single cell. Text of the columns is separated by a space instead of a tab or a coma.

Player is clearly able to format text in columns on the screen so that the information must be stored in the file so that it can interpret the provision in such a manner.

Then why can't I copy that it's on the screen and paste into several columns of text in Excel?

I did several searches on this and have not met anyway to do this using the player.

There is no such thing as spaces or "column breaks" in the PDF files. Each word, each character, you see is placed on the page regardless of everything above. When you export to Excel (or any other format) attempts of application of "guess" what the file structure should be and convert it into a usable format, but it does not always succeed because it is an extremely complex operation and there are a lot of factors involved.

For example, the spacing between the columns in the screenshot above is not the same. Whose to say that the text in the second column is not actually part of the third, because they are very close to one another? To the human eye, it's easy to see that they are separated because there is a line between them and because the second column contains numbers and the third argument contains text, but for a computer algorithm which is a very difficult decision to come to.

When you open Adobe Acrobat V2015.010.20056 on a MacPro OS10.9.5 running, no window is present and no files can be opened. I have a Macbook air with OS Yosemite anr the same version on this unit works properly.

I have pdf files that will be opened with Acrobat DC application which is part of the suite CC.  I deleted the existing DC Acrobat application that was on my computer and then reinstalled it from the Adobe Web site.  The same problem is present.  I can open the Acrobat V2015.101.20056 directly and without window is present, and if I use the file menu and choose a well known file, nothing happens.  Less than a week ago. the app installed Acrobat displays the document.

    Update:

I removed the application Acrobat DC and installed a new copy of Acrobat Reader V11.0.14.  Everything works fine now.  I don't know whence came the Acrobat DC.  When I used the "Get Info" menu and tried to change the app open in Acrobat Reader choice, only the selected file was changed when I said to use the player for all .pdf files.  All other files has always tried to use Acrobat DC, and of course, nothing has been posted.

  • Summary of the commentary on the text highlighted in Acrobat Reader XI

I am creating a publication in Indesign, a pdf file of each chapter reviewed by its author using Acrobat Reader XI, usually highlighting "Key words".

In Acrobat XI as soon as I check "preferences/comments/make comments 'copy selected highlighted, strikethrough and underline text pop-up comment' any what text I underline is added to the summary observations.

The problem is that when the highlight is made in the summary of the comment does not drive the text, just a highlight took place even though I'm reviewing in Acrobat XI.

I need to be able to export text "stressed" in Acrobat Reader XI as a text file.

    Hi KStevenson,

I think the reason why you run into that in Reader, is that the drive have the same preference you set in Acrobat. (Preferences apply to the application, not in a specific document).

It does not open a document own stand alone. This cause me a problem when I want to send it as an attachment, as it includes this component, as well as all other toolbars with.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

    SSA56,

When you send the PDF document as an attachment, it will be sent as a document 'stand alone '. It will be open according to the preferences that are set by the receiving party.

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader DC - OCR: no export image text conversion

Based on the exploration of online Adobe help resources, I subscribed to export in PDF format on the assumption that I would be able to use convert scanned image Adobe Acrobat Reader DC text in MS Word text. Converted Word files show only the scanned image and I can't find any way to find and adjust the OCR settings or the tool Export drive resident or online, as explained here:

I have to have a standard Acrobat subscription for this and, if so, does include export to PDF? Thanks in advance.

  • Acrobat Reader on the iPad does not display text

    Hello.

I don't know what happened. I use the latest version of the Acrobat Reader application for iPad.

Since last week, all of a sudden all the texts disappear pages. I can see the background images, and sometimes the text reappears for awhile, but will disappear immediately.

I am able to select the text (that is, it recognizes that there in fact text here) and even use functions such as 'set', but not see.

I thought it was a police problem, but the same things happen in the documents that I have worked with several times.

I also found several times, it will display the text a little blurred, and instead focus it (as he did in the past when this happened), he disappears.

Is this a problem with the last update of the player?

Thank you very much for the help.

  • How do you add text to Acrobat Reader?

I downloaded Acrobat Reader DC yesterday and today I started working on a form that I used Adobe Reader XI for the work in 2014.  This year I found that I could edit the text that was already there, but was not able to add a new text.  I used to be able to double-click and would be automatically added a text box.

The info button told me that I can change the text using 'Add a text comment' in the toolbar to fill and sign.  The only button on the toolbar to fill and sign is a greyed out button that says 'sign' I search everywhere and I can't find the function 'Add a text comment' at all.

I need to know how to do this.  If there comes a time when I have a new client to deal with and I need to fill out a blank form that is going to be a disaster.  Now things, I would have to print the blank form and fill it in using a typewriter.

    What Miss me?  Help, please.

    Thank you!

    Mary Ellen Byrne

    Hello

There is the option, you must type the text using CD player with the bucket fill tool & sign.

This option is grayed out for you?

You will get this option after you click Fill & sign.

  • How to edit text alignment and size fonts in a pdf file editable with acrobat reader DC?

I have Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and I'm trying to edit/format text in an editable form.  I need to change the alignment of the text and the font size, but can't seem to find a way to do it.  I tried several other recommendations, including right clicking in an empty space and clicking "Properties"bar, but which is not listed as an option.  What suggestions do you have?  Please and thank you!

Thank you!  I thought about it.  It is possible.  It's a document that I bought at TeachersPayTeachers.  The creator allowed to edit, but I don't have the original document to change, just the PDF file.  For reference, I clicked on DISPLAY in the main menu.

Then I clicked on SHOW/HIDE.  Then COMPONENTS toolbar.  Last, I clicked on VIEW the PROPERTIES BAR.  Thank you very much for the help.  I hope this helps others.

With my old drive, I could add zoom marquee in my toolbar, it is quick to use.  My company has updated everything and now we have Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and I cannot figure out how to put the zoom marquee on my quick access toolbar.  Can anyone help?

    Hey rosch726,

    We could certainly help you.

Open the file in the drive and go to "view > show/hide > elements Toolbar > see the selection & Zoom tools > Marquee Zoom.

  • How to italicize the text in Acrobat Reader DC

I've just upgraded to Acrobat Reader DC and can not find a way to make the text italic.  CTRL + I does not work.  Any suggestions?

If they allowed Rich Text Format, you should be able to right click on the text and choose the text style. If they have not, then this option is not available.
