  SYMPTOMS:

  CAUSE:
  The following errors are usually the result of a bad environment variable. In this case the "windir" environment variable does not work correctly. You can try running the management of the computer to start > run and entering:

  Notice the between the characters of percentage windir environment variable. If you run the above code, you will probably get an error saying that MMC cannot open the file. Look closely at the path, it's back!
  You will probably find any % somewhere.

  What actually happened here is the variable windir made reference to another variable: systemroot
  Why this creates problems, I'm not sure. Also, I don't understand what made then variable windir change.

  SOLUTION:
  -From your desktop or Explorer: right-click on "My computer" and select "Properties".
  -Click on the "Advanced" tab and then click "Environment Variables".

  Malware does not reside on the system or you need to read this Microsoft KB article:
  Error that you see in the upper right when you visit the Windows Update Web site on a Windows XP-based computer: "[error number: 0x8DDD0004]."

  All the steps in the above article can be made by downloading, recording, then by running the Fixit of: How to reset the Windows Update components?

  Once the download is complete, close all open programs and web browsers.
  Then, run MicrosoftFixit50202.msi and choose it is the default mode.

  The default mode performs the same steps as shown in the article first, KB914224 and that someone at Microsoft should edit this page so that it refers to the Fixit.

  But if I build the exe in the same PC I get no error and it works very well. Moreover, I tested this exe in another PC with the same configuration, it works. I tried to reinstall labview in the PC, the problem persists.

  There is no official adapter for LabVIEW 8.6 in Windows 7. See link below.

  Upgrade to SP1 LV2009 should solve your problem. We had this problem with another client and update SP1 LV2009 solved his problem and should solve your problem too. If you have a problem after the update let me know.
