Corrupt file system cannot access chkdsk

The file systems on the disk structure is corrupted and unusable.  Run chkdsk on the volume c:

but cannot access Chkdsk as structure of files is NTFS

Hello Terry1897,

·         When exactly do you get this error?

·         You are able to start your computer desktop?

·         What are the changes to the computer before having this problem?

·         What is the error you get when you try to run the CHKDSK utility?

Note: You must back up the data (files and documents) before troubleshooting on the corrupted volume, because there is a risk of data loss if the C: volume is damaged or unusable.

I suggest that you run the CHKDSK utility in the Windows recovery environment.

1. put the Windows Vista or Windows 7 installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.
2. press a key when you are prompted.
3. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.
4. click on repair your computer.
5. click on the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.
6. in the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt.

At the command prompt, type:

CHKDSK [drive:] [/ p] | [/ r]

[drive:] Specifies the drive to check.

/ p check even if the drive is not marked dirty, bad.

/r locates bad sectors and recovers readable information (implies / p).

Well, the system on the HARD drive seems to be corrupted.
Who knows why, but it happens sometimes, it s nothing unusual and, therefore, it s always recommended to backup the data always

The files are not lost, but you are not able to start the unit.

    What you can do?
Well, you can grab the laptop again.
By using the HARD drive recovery option (press F8, repair my computer, drive HARD recovery) or by using the recovery disk

But this will format the HARD drive and you will lose data.
If you want to get access to the data, I recommend booting of live CD WinPE and BartPE.

  • Scan of found corrupt files that cannot be repaired by SFC

After problems with a recent update of windows which was followed by a restore failed, a black screen, then a system repair, I now have a number of corrupt dll files which result in "bad image" error messages when I start applications.

This does not stop at the launch, but is an irritation!

I ran sfc/scannow which reports corrupt files that cannot be repaired.

I have a 'backup' restore point in 2012, if I restored it, it would restore these files corrupt, or the only solution would be to use my factory restore disk?

You should run chkdsk /f (to correct), or chkdsk/r (to repair).  If this is not the case, no repairs will be preformed.

  • External file ViewStack cannot access Script AS

    Hello

I am very new to both Flexbuilder and Actionscript so I need help please. I have a main mxml file that contains a ViewStack as well as an external as file. I am gettting compiler errors in these external mxml files (call to the method may be undefined) because they cannot access external FUNCTIONS because this file is included only in the main mxml.

Everything worked great when I had all the code in a master file, but I'm trying to get a handle on separates the code AS code mxml as well as trying to use modules external mxml in the ViewStack. Can someone give me some advice how to separate everything and make it work successfully?

You can use the import statement to import the class in the child's file, or
you could broadcast an event that tells the parent to perform the function
instead. Referring to the parent function is only a good idea if you want to
to create a situation where the chld component only works in this same
    structure (couple).

  • Each exe file I open me gives a "corrupted file... run chkdsk', but the analysis of virus and malware are clean?

    Hello

I'm completely puzzled here. When I started my computer today I got a notification saying one of the start-up programs exe file has been corrupted. I think that "uhoh". Then my antvirus software is dΘmarre with the same and I get the notification that I'm not running and antivirus. Then I realize counts all exe files I click gives me the error "file is corrupted... Please run chkdsk" appear in the taskbar. At this point, I am thinking virus or malware.

Some programs still work even with the corrupted message, but every exe, whether old or newly downloaded, will give me this corrupt message. Also, when I tried to reinstall my anti-virus, he wouldn't. (I'm under Avast Internet Security Pro).

I found myself downloading AVG free and for some reason any that exe is not being corrupt. So I at least have a running antivirus software now.

I scanned my whole system with AVG with the latest virus definitions, and it sees no virus. I run only Malwarebytes with the latest updates... nothing there either.

Is my computer clean? For me this seems unlikely, but there is something that is not a virus or malicious software that could cause this?

Also, I started in safe mode, and it makes exactly the same thing. Each exe is corrupt when I open it.

I am all of these ideas, except to the reformat.

    Thank you

    Mike

I don't see you mention on running "chkdsk".
    So, do you?

How to run the check disk (chkdsk)... assuming you are using Vista

Start button > Search box, type cmd > look up, right-click on cmd.exe > Run As Administrator >

in the black and white window, at the command prompt flashes, type chkdsk/f/r > press the Enter key.
Note: there is a space between 'chkdsk' and ' / '.
The screen will say something like cannot do it now, but you want to run it on reboot. Click on 'y' as in Yes > press > window cmd of output.

Restart your computer. It will take a while. DO NOT stop the machine. Just wait.

  • system cannot access the folder

I have two files that appear to be unaccesible.

    1. all users/Documents

2 Program Files/Microsoft Security customer... (created by my first installation of Security Essentials)

I don't know when the 'Documents' folder has become inaccessible, but the Client Security folder was withikng last week... It is not stopped Security Essentials to work, leading to a virus attack (AMSECURE), OR something else has stopped working and rendered virus attack it the inaccessible folder... (Don't know who)

I discovered the problem with the "Microsoft Security Client" folder, when I tried to re-installed Security Essentials, while recovering from the virus. Installation has failed every time.  Once I discovered what the problem was, I was able to rename the folder 'Microsoft Security customer', so that the security essentials installation then ok...

I searched on the internet a solution to the issue of file access and nothing that I do allow me to access the records...

Both files are displayed as READ ONLY I change, but he returned immediately to READ ONLY. I started in safe MODE and checked the property and everything seems OK, too... all folders and files in the folder have assumed the same properties and are not accessible...

I finished a full disc and all check/scan that found a few bad sectors, it does not solve the problem...

I can't open the 'Documents' folder at all... However, I can open the "Microdoft Security Client" folder, but can't open the files it contains.

When I try to delete it, I get the meesage that a folder it contains is not empty... However, the top folder and the files it contains are all shown as "empty".

    Thank you...

Thanks JW... He has solved a part of my question...

The folder users/document all is now available...

When I listed the attributes not copied... I added me to access FULL and low and behold, now I can access the folder...

HOWEVER... the folder 'Microsoft Security customer' (renamed to BADFOLDER), has 3 other folders that it contains...

    Backup

    Drivers

    en - us

After you add me (Graham) and SYSTEM to the list of users with full access, using the *. * to all within the BADFOLDER has also been changed, I can not even open files...

The top folder (BADFOLDER) is to allow access, but I can't go further... When I try to open all subfolders I get "file are not accessible by the system"

    CACLS folder name now produces
