corrupt index

Hello

on Linux and DB 11g R2,.

How the corrupt index?

Thank you.

Hello

Corruption can be classified on two levels (physical / logical).

You can use the following technique

(1) RMAN

validate the logical database checking;

(2) dbv

(3) analyze the object

analyze the table <> validate structure online.

analyze the index <> validate structure;

(4) if there is no dictionary corruption, you may need to run the health check report

(5) to 11.2, when the server process reads the block and she finds corruption, it will immediately reports

Select * from v$ database_block_corruption.

Select dba_extents nom_segment, segment_type, owner

where file_id = and between block_id and block_id + blocks-1;

You can check the doc (if you have access) 28814.1

Thank you

  • nilibddc dll: opening files tdms with the corrupt index files

    Hello

    I have a question about the error handling when using the nilibddc.dll.

    I want to use nilibddc.dll to open the .tdms file. At the time I experimented with some error cases and got stuck in a case:

    When I try to open a file with a corrupted file .tdms_index .tdms I get code error-6211 (DDC_StorageCouldNotBeOpened).

    The file .tdms_index is corrupted due to errors during the copy of the file.

    The problem I've noticed is that I have a lock on the corrupted file .tdms_index file after DDC_OpenFile (...) (I can rename it, but I can't delete the file!).

    As you can see in the code snippet - it is not really special...

    int ddcError = 0, length;
    DDCFileHandle file = 0;

    ddcError = DDC_OpenFile (file_path, NULL, &file);)

    Here, I get ddcError is-6211
    If (ddcError == 0)
    {
    do something with the file...

    ddcError = DDC_CloseFile (leader);

    If (ddcError == 0)
    {
    < "no="" error="" -="" everything="" done"=""><>
    }
    }

    System ("pause");

    I miss something here? Should I use DDC_FreeMemory in somehow to free open handles?

    I also tried to use the DDC_OpenFileEx (...) with readOnly set to true. But that doesn't change anything!

    Thanks in advance for the help,

    Daniel

    You are right. The sample file you attached to your message causes an access violation. If no normal flow program and apllication in undefined state.

    I will direct the file to developers. I tried to generate a file that causes the same by beating some index files, but has failed to create one on my own. It happened to your site more than once?

    What can we do?

    In the first place, simply copy the PDM. The index file will be recreated when the file is accessed. What is lost when the index file is not copied, therefore the time required to create the index file by scanning once the PDM file.

    I hope this helps a little

  • Is this how you re - index places.sqlite, to speed up performance?

    Get SQLite Manager... https://addons.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/addon/SQLite-Manager/

    SQLite Manager / tables / moz_places

    Right-click on moz_places / reindex Table / Yes

    Per this page... https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/questions/969977

    The minimum file size of places.sqlite file is 10 MB, and Firefox increases this file in chunks of 10 MB when necessary (its size is reduced never when you remove history or bookmarks). This is done for performance problems caused by fragmentation.

    • * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

    I was trying to understand what it:

    Index / reindex Index...

    I found that he did something with it:

    Are you sure you want to do the following:
    REINDEX 'main '. "" moz_annos_placeattributeindex ".
    SQL:
    REINDEX 'main '. "" moz_annos_placeattributeindex ".

    ... that did do re-index Index?

    Normally, they are already indexed, however it helps corrupt indexed places.sqlite files as far as I know, but you can also request to add it on the developer.

  • INDD 6.0.6 give up when I try to delete the reference in the index

    See also http://forums.Adobe.com/message/4263687 for a discussion of the same problem. Ask here, I'm starting a discussion separate from the same issue affecting someone else (me).

    I am running INDD 6.0.6 on OS X 10.6.8 on a MacBook Pro (2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo). I have a document. INDD that is part of a 50-page book. The document includes an index. The index was imported originally from MS Word (from another user, unknown version). I'm rewriting the index, editing and re-release strongly. I recently discovered that the index is a reference without a target. To be clear, I don't know of a reference in the text of the document. It is an index entry, created by new cross-reference... menu item in the Index pane. There is no target, because when you look at it with forwarding options, there is a first-level topic, but the referenced field (below the Type see also) is empty.

    I can't delete this entry. When I try to delete, INDD crashes. When INDD covers, he warns that the document is may be damaged, and if I try to delete it again, INDD breaks down. If I try to change the referenced field, INDD accepts but does not take into account the change (the closing of the shutter, but the remains of the unchanged index).

    My current solution is to change the theme to ZZZ and add a new index entry (ZZZ: corrupt entry: delete this before shipping), but it is less satisfactory. What can I do to remove the corrupted index cross-reference?

    The biggest problem is that even if you and someone from Adobe to be able to actually understand what that is the problem and that it is, in fact, a bug, there's nothing they can do to help you. There won't be any several bug fixes for CS4. My memory is that he had some bugs in indexing in the first version of CS4 and at least some of them are fixed, then you must install the patch...

    When you are using Windows XP (SP3) running Windows Search (4.0), I get the error message:

    I do nothing especially when this happens and the disabling or uninstalling this feature is not an option that I and some of the programs that I use it. She repeats every few minutes, but I'm pretty sure it's because the application restarts whenever you "Finish". I also tried to reinstall it but to no avail. Thanks in advance for any help.

    These errors appear when the index database is corrupted, for example during the crash, etc. The solution is, except disabling or removing the search service, reconstruction of the index. Just reinstall will not solve the problem, because that does not remove the corrupted index.

    On XP Pro:

    (1) start 'services.msc' and find Windows Search stop.

    My personal advice: check user accounts all records and make sure that the "Application Data" and "Local Settings" directories have their attribute 'Index summary' unchecked, including all files and subfolders. You can avoid many possible future performance issues.

    2) go to c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft and delete the entire directory "Search" (or just rename / move elsewhere).

    (3) close the session log. Index will rebuild, it may take some time, depending on the amount of documents, music, etc. you have. So be patient with harddisk increased temporary activity. Normally it works with a low priority.

    On Vista/7 Search index is located in \ProgramData\Microsoft, otherwise,'s done it the same way. Unfortunately, I do not know how to avoid the real alteration. XP seems more inclined to him.

    • Reset the search index
    • Add folders to the library and search again

    All the options provided to the same result, the search did not work in libraries. But now, I found the cause.

    Research in libraries completely stops working if folders in a library are removed from the search index. In my case, my video library folders and photo were removed by me from the index.

    The strange fact is that research stops functioning completely when the files in libraries are removed from the index. The search works perfectly in windows Explorer, regardless of the inclusion of the file in the index or not. But the same does not happen in libraries when the locations are removed from the index.

    I feel this is a bug because I also tried in another machine with windows 7 32-bit. Please post if any of you have had the same questions as above.

    Thank you

    Hello Eduardo Coelho,

    The question of what I found out which is his due corrupted index, go I ve found to solve the problem is to create a new user profile and then organize library. You must take carenot to change all the parameters with the index after you have created your libraries. The question begins after you do any change with the index settings (IE change tracking records, etc.)

    I already sent a feedback to the Windows team, but there is no way of knowing if someone is aware or even looking at this matter. Knowing MS, it is very likely that it won't be resolved until the next version of windows comes out (~ 3 years from now) and that is, if they recognize this as a problem: P.

    To repeat

    1. Create a new user profile
    2. Re create your libraries
    3. Do not change the settings with the index after you have created your libraries

    Please let me know if the above solution works for you.

    See you soon

  • 12 items "copy/move to the removable disk.

    The base case # 185684196, support phone donated last year, the problem persists.  12 items on my desktop PC (Windows 7, 64-bit) - I import photo in the Organizer, card camera (Nikon RAW files), and THEN use the function ' Copy/move to removable disk' to move these files to an external hard drive (RAID 1 configuration) for permanent storage.  When I run this process, initially, it moves the files to the disk of destination - then a dialog asks (about): are you sure you want to delete these files? (of the Office Unit) - I click on 'Yes' - a progress bar works - and almost finished, the process fails "organizing elements - year error occurred while reading files or writing files to disk."  The drive is may be full, or there may be a problem with the source media. "In fact, there is a large amount of disk space on the destination drive.  My wife and I use (for many years) this program for semi-professional use.  It is CRITICAL to avoid any corruption - indexing / connection between the miniature Organizer reference images and the image stored outside files MUST be properly maintained.  What is causing this error message, what needs to be done to solve the problem?  I have the couple of times when this has happened, I went on the storage disk, delete manually imported just files, run the process - and, for this 2nd attempt, the process completed successfully.  Of course, this isn't a long-term solution, nor a procedure appropriate - and I always worry a sort of corruption may be introduced-, please notify the right solution.  Also - I have been informed and practice, not allowing the catalog to grow beyond 5 000 images (I began a new catalogue).  With the current batch of photos, I'm importing (more than 300 images), I get also a message "notice" to save the catalog - something I think I'll make to an another external drive, for redundancy even beyond the present RAID 1 storage - however, this solves the problem, I ask you to help

    It then I need my glasses!

    I would recommend lance the Downloader of the Organizer (Ctrl + G) and in the Advanced dialog box, select your device (camera OR card reader) and choosing your external hard drive rather than the C: drive or another volume internal. See the image below.

    Who will get all your images to their final destination without any move/copy of the files or folders.

    Which means less chance of damaged files or broken links database. It will also be a more efficient workflow.

    NB. it is always useful when you use external hard drives to keep connected to the same USB port. Also keep a backup on a secondary device because these external drives are extremely susceptible to failure.

  • Flash applet (scrollview.swf) disappeared from the front page

    Hi, thanks for taking the time to read this. I have a serious problem with a flash applet that is front and Center (actually a little to the right) on our homepage. I'm paid to refresh our Church Web site and have been using flash 8 with success so far. We never had no problem download and we used this same file in flash for a while (2 years?) and I've never experienced this problem.

    Anyway, if you go to www.livepraylove.com you will see that on the side right of the page, the flash file is not loading. It is as if it is not yet on the server. However, when I connect to my ftp server, I see him there. I even downloaded the server off and ran while offline, and it worked fine in all browsers on my pc. It just does not work online.

    Is there something wrong with the code in my index.html page? Or could I have saved the file flash in a way that causes this problem? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, since the longer, it goes on, the I'm going to be more difficult.

    Thank you!

    Nevermind - I solved the problem! It is a corrupted index file. What was disconcerting in this regard, that he would play well at a distance, but when I went to download, it had many problems. I'll repost if that I meet again the problem. Thank you!

  • DB Back at a specific time with archiving logs (up to cancel or time?)

    I'll try to be as clear as possible with my goals and limits of the system, I'm working with:

    1. we have a test instance of our Oracle database I want to be able to update with data from the instance of production at any time, without having to close the production database or tablespaces in backup mode to warm.

    2. the two systems are HP Itanium boxes with different numbers of processors and RAM. These differences have been taken into account in the file init.ora for instances of the DB.

    3. test and production instances use a SAN to maintain the following file systems: ora_redo1, ora_redo2, ora_archlog, oradata10g. The test instance uses snapshots SAN (HP EVA SAN series) the production file systems into the data when necessary. The problem is that the single window to do it is when the production system is down for maintenance every night, which is about a 20 minute period. I want to escape this limitation.

    I do use the aforementioned SAN HP to take snapshots of filesystems on the production system. I'm doing this, while the production DB is running. I then import these snapshots in the test system, run a fsck to the integrity of system files, and then start the Oracle instance as follows:

    Startup mount

    Then I run the following query, I found online to determine the current redo log:
    Select Member from v$ logfile lf, v$ log l where l.status = 'CURRENT' and lf.group #= l.group #;

    Then I try to run a recovery as follows:
    recover database using backup controlfile until cancel;

    When you are prompted, enter the path to the first of the current redo logs and press ENTER. After waiting, sometimes it is said that the recovery is completed, other times it stops saying there was an error and that several files are required to standardize the DB.

    I took the road above because to do a recovery until the time (which is what I really want to do) kept invited me for the next archiving log in the sequence that did not exist when I took the picture of SAN. This is my back up to the order of time:

    recover database until time ' yyyy-mm - dd:hh:mm:ss using backup controlfile;

    What I want to do is to take the SAN snapshot and then retrieve the database about a minute before the snapshot by using the archive logs. I don't want to use RMAN, since it seems like overkill for this purpose. A simple recovery to a specific point in time seems to be all that is needed and I archive logs which, I suppose, SHOULD help me get there. Even if I lose the value of the last hour of trading, I could live with that. But my tests affect the recovery time even 12 hours sooner more resulted in a command prompt to the next, no archivelog.

    I note also that I even tried to copy the next log archiving on once there is and the recovery would then invite me to the next archive log! I recognize now that I know really much about Oracle or DBs, but it's my duty to try and make it possible to "Refresh" the DB test with the latest data with no impact on production DB.

    The reason why I want to use the hot backup mode, it is that I don't know the other DB schema that there probably 58 or more storage spaces. The goal is to use SAN snapshots for their speed instead of having to take RMAN files and copy them to the test instance. I don't know that I'm not the only person who has already tried that. But most of what I found online made reference on RMAN, hot backup mode, or downtime. The first two take advantage of SAN snapshots for a quick exchange of all Oracle file systems, and I can't afford downtime other than this window during the night. Is there a reason that did not retrieve it in time even if I archive logs?

    One last point. Recover until cancel actually worked a few times, but it seems to be sporadic. Probably has something to do with what was going on on the production DB when I created the SAN snapshots. In fact, I thought I had a solution with recover until cancel last week until he failed three times in a row.

    As I've mentioned before, I highly recommend setting the database in BACKUP mode.

    You can see a collection of papers to the
    http://www.Oracle.com/technology/deploy/availability/htdocs/oscp_papers.html
    Unfortunately, Oracle stopped the Oracle storage compliance program and now he leaves vendors to certify their memory and their file system. The documents on the site of the OSCP are now "old."

    Each storage provider has also published articles. I worked with snapshot / SnapClone / SnapView / technologies ShadowImage EMC CLARiiON, Hitachi Lightning, IBM ESS, etc. of NetApp. Only the EMC engineer did not recommend the BACKUP mode. However, when you test the EMC under high concurrency, we found corrupt index when we used the image of the snapshot. I returned to the EMC site and downloaded a specified document that we had to use the BACKUP mode and SUSPEND / SUMMARY - and why said. The main lines were "However, the operation of fracturing the clones or from sessions of snapshot with multiple devices is not atomic. Particular periods may exist as well and all of the Oracle files being backed up can seem to have lost the required I/O order sequencing. ». So it really depends on the technology. The engineer later confirmed that it was a requirement on the particular type of storage we were using, but not on the DMX class (or something like that - I don't remember all the details of a previous task a few years ago).

    (White papers of all other providers also included BACKUP mode).

    Contact the vendor for their own white papers.
