Corrupted Windows Vista

OK, I have not downloaded anything or open to all suspicious emails or anything like that. Have not installed all the programs or the other, but here is what happened. The other day my computer started to go very slow and freezing a lot. So I decided to turn it off. When I turned it on Windows would not start I got the message saying/windows/system32/config/system is corrupt. So I put in the re installation disc. I ran the diagnostics on the drive and he said that it was not a windows problem can solve automatically. Also, I formatted my hard drive. When you try to reinstall windows kept getting the message "windows cannot find a system volume that meets its criteria for installation" where I had clearly over 100 GB free. I also ran diagnostics on the BIOS and got two messages of error over and over again we were 0F00:0667 and the other was 0F00:0244 I remember that the second message error code says something like impossible to correct data. What the hell happens and why I can't get windows resettled again.

Hello

You do not say the brand of computer or which Diagnostics you used.

The hard disk may be failing. Read this thread of the Dell Forums.

http://en.community.Dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3514/t/19347133.aspx

Go to the website of your computer manufacturer > find specifications of hardware in your computer (hard drive) > access the Web Hard Drive from the manufacturer site > download their diagnostic software > make a Bootable disc > test your hard drive.

And back up all your data as soon as POSSIBLE.

Saving your files:

You can remove the hard drive and put it in a hard drive USB enclosure > plug it into another computer > and try to read and copy your data in this way.

Or, you can download Knoppix > make a bootdisk to > start your system with it (IF your material is all work) > and copy your data from the hard drive like that.

  • Corrupt Windows Vista boot configuration data?

    Hey there.

So, my Acer Aspire 5570 actually running Vista for a while now. I tried to have it dual boot a Linux OS, worked well, then, I received a message "corrupt boot configuration data" when I tried to boot to Vista. I googled for answers, and I was not able to find any help. The only way I can get into Vista is via a command prompt any. I did everything that he restore points, and I've never had the OS installation discs. ZORIN, the Linux OS partition works very well. Any help?

UPDATE: I think I can find something. You are not sure if it will work, but worth it, right? BTW, it starts at the Startup Repair, and I go into the advanced options or something.

UPDATE (again): looks like Zorin has replaced ALL my files in Vista, even if it was SAID NOT TO DO THAT (yes I yell at computers, problem?) I tried these links: http://www.troublefixers.com/unable-to-boot-in-windows-vista-windows-boot-configuration-data-file-is-missing-required-information/, http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/ht/rebuild-bcd-store-windows.htm, http://pcsupport.about.com/od/termsl/p/logon.htm, http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/tp/recovery_console_commands.htm and http://pcsupport.about.com/od/termss/p/system-recovery-options.htm, but nothing worked. I have to buy a new version of Vista and install it? My Acer is a bit too old to upgrade, I think.

    Hello

You do not need to buy a new version of Vista, you can reinstall the version you have as often you want on this machine.

Something has gone wrong with your Dual Boot with Linux; but there is a special way to set that up, which is often mentioned in the Linux/Ubuntu Forums.

If you want to reinstall Vista again, IF this option is still available, you press LEFT Alt + F10 keys at startup and Vista is re-installed normally Acer 'hidden' partition recovery.

    http://Acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/A_ID/2631

If the dual-boot ruined who, you might ask Acer to send you recovery disks, which they used to do for a small fee.

But Acer has ceased to provide the recovery disc Vista for most, if not all of its models.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • Corrupted Windows Vista Mail export

I tried export WIndows Vista Mail so I could import into a new machine Win 8.1. However, files are damaged and some folders and emails are missing. Any ideas on how to solve this problem? I've held last year, but did not get a response.

What e-mail program you are using in the new machine? Note that the mail app does not support POP3 accounts.

If you use Windows live Mail and messages seem to always corrupt, try this.

To create a Windows folder on the desktop from the old machine.
    * Open a file in WinMail and drag the messages into the folder on the desktop. (They will remain in WinMail.)
To copy this folder on the desktop on the new machine.
Open the folder and drag the messages to a folder in the new e-mail program.

  • How to recover a corrupted Windows Vista serial key?

I bought a license of Windows Vista with my Toshiba Satellite A300 computer laptop on July 2009, but the ticket where the serial key is printed under the laptop has been damaged by heat and it displays more information on the license or the serial key. Unfortenately I rebooted the computer on a new version of Vista that is demo lasts only 30 days. What I learned from some forums, miscrosoft team could get the authentic series keys with fees of $10, is it possible, and if it is how to do it?

    Hello

"How to identify, find and replace a product key.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/811224?WA=wsignin1.0

How to get a replacement product key

If the software is preinstalled on your computer, contact your computer manufacturer to obtain a replacement product key (normally, they don't do that).

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

You can ask Toshiba to send you a set of recovery discs for your laptop model to reinstall the operating system to how it was when new.

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall the operating system back to the way in which you bought your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

With Toshiba, you press 0 (zero) at the start and follow the prompts. but install another operating system could destroy the recovery Partition.

None of these methods of resettlement requires normally allows you to provide a product key during Installation, the recovery process uses the Installation product key factory to activate automatically during the resettlement process.

  • Corrupted Windows Update? (Vista)

    Hello

I have problems with Windows Update on a Vista laptop. When I try to open the program, all I get is a blank window with nothing to click on. No text, no button.

I know that some time ago, I created WU to do updates automatically, but I want to regain control of the update process, as WU tries to install the updates on a daily basis and fails. It takes me 15 minutes every day after the restart before I can use my laptop.

    Can anyone help?

System Restore does not allow that the problem is older than the last restore point. I also tried to use my backup CD that I thought maybe I could reinstall Vista, but the laptop won't even use it for some reason any. I tried to reinstall WU from the site Web de Microsoft, but after doing so the problem was still there. I don't really know what to do!

    Thanks if you have answers.

    CMDC,
If the SFC was not able to repair files then the best thing to do is to reinstall Windows.  You can try running a disk error check, if it fixes all of the problems, and then rerun the SFC and then install and run the System Update tool.  If there is still a problem with the SFC nto be able to complete then you should do a reinstall.

  • Unable to start boot corrupted files Windows Vista Home premium

Hello all recently I got my hands on an old Toshiba laptop Satellite I'm supposed to have attachment to a friend, however, she doesn't remember the password for the laptop so I searched for ways to circumvent the password and delete it however, I ran into a major problem, according to the wiki site , how you put in a family of Windows Vista installation disc premium, you select your country and all that say before you install is a repair of your computer, but I can't so I thought well maybe if I hit install that it will recognize that there are already Windows Vista on the computer however to my dismay that it did not so I canceled the installation but now the computer does not even boot into Vista at all he'll just do Startup Repair whenever whenever it starts "Windows loading files" I already tried several things the bootrec command using command prompt without success, I tried to restore the master boot record by using the command-line without success either, here are the details as seen from the Startup Repair tool: signature of the problem GREATER TOMBENT AUTO there is also one that says corrupt boot configuration data and who says fix partition table I look it up online that I mean who is the code which is the ID of locale 1033 I looked up the exact problem this forum and he said if there is the disconnect a USB connected the problem with that is there is no USB device connected. To clarify what I said earlier about wiki, how what I tried to do initially was put in the trunk of installation disk from the CD in the environment of the installation, then click on repair your computer so that I could use CMD to reset the password online, I have seen that you can change the keys to self-retaining pull up of CMD by modifying the ease of access button but I thought that it would be easier because I don't have to understand how to fix the ease of access button after I did. So now I am at a loss as to what I could do next to important things to note that this computer doesn't have system restore points stored on it so it is not an option if you do not understand something please let me know and thank you for your suggestions. PS I will try a disk check, now that I think of it.

Hello all I was able to restore the computer back in working order without password, I did however have download and burn a copy of Vista Home premium at my discretion. But I use the product key legally reactivate Windows Vista Home premium but I have to say that the search for the driver for this laptop has not been easy, especially the pilot Wi - Fi that I had to go

burn it to a disk, and then install the software in this way. I really don't know not how I got the display driver correct because I downloaded the driver two booster and then the next minute it was display driver just because I checked on the user manual on Toshiba.com and it was the correct an Intel 3000 graphics thank you all so much for your help and I hope this helps someone else :-)

That's when I switched to an installation disc supplied with the system. I tried to recover the system from there, but it would not go beyond the option of choosing an operating system. Once I got to that screen, there was NO operating system choose.

I tried to restore my computer and there is no restore point.

I renounced restore my computer and thought I'll all start over and install windows vista all over again. This was not the case either. I followed these steps:

    1. Turn on your computer and insert the CD or the DVD of Windows Vista.

    2. Install Windows page, follow all of the instructions that appear, and then clickInstall now.

    3. On the Get updated important for installation page, we recommend getting the latest updates to help ensure a successful installation and to help protect your computer against security threats. You will need an Internet connection to get the installation updates.

    4. On the Type your product key for activation page, we strongly recommend that you type your 25-character product key in order to avoid problems during activation.

    5. On the Please read the license terms page, if you agree to the terms of the license, clickI accepts the terms of the license.

    6. Follow the instructions on each page. On the type of installation do you want? page, clickCustom.

    7. On the place where you want to install Windows? page, select the partition where you want to install.

    8. Click next to begin the installation. You can see a compatibility report.

    and then had this error that says;

windows doesn't have can create a partition on disk 0. The error occurred when preparing the partition selected for installation. Error code: 0x80004005.

Now I am stuck and don't know what to do.

Someone at - it solutions for me. Help, please.

  • Windows Vista: Error 42127 {archive CAB is corrupted.}

Recently, whenever I run Avast aswboot, I get the following article in the search results: file C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Low\Content.IE5\KAUA3EK2\IE8-WindowsVista-x86-ENU[1].exe|>iesetup.exe error 42127 {archive CAB is corrupted.}  I tried to access the file affected so that I can remove it.  I'm using the advanced search with the option "View hidden files", but all I get is the search statement Avast - not the file itself.  I think that I have to sign as an administrator, but how do I do this?  What else could be necessary to remove this file? Thanks for any help!

    Hello

    1. you made any hardware or software changes the computer recently?

    2. What is the mark of a computer model?

    Step 1.

You must be logged on as administrator to do these steps.

    Step 2.

I would suggest allowing you to run a Microsoft security scan to confirm that the computer is virus-free or remaining viruses are deleted.

    Microsoft Safety Scanner: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Security Scanner warning: there will be data loss through an analysis using the Microsoft safety scanner to eliminate viruses as appropriate.

In addition, I would like to inform you that if the file is infected, then the analysis should disinfect or remove it entirely.

    Step 3.

Start the computer in safe mode, and then delete the file if you are unable to delete it in normal mode.

Start your computer in safe mode: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    I hope this helps.

  • SFC scan reports sidebar.ini and source file as a corrupted file even after the installation of WIndows Vista repair.

    Hey, I'm Ryan.
I am running windows vista 32 bit and I get 2 files corrupted when I run SFC - they relate to the windows sidebar (sidebar.ini and store source file is also corrupted). I did a repair installation, and this always happens when I run the SFC.

1 - is this going to cause any problems to my laptop if I leave it alone?
2 could it be related to a virus?
I'm sorry for the questions, but I'm confused as to how this happened... Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you very much.

    1 NO.

    2 NO.

This SFC message could be caused by the manufacturer of the computer adding gadgets to the sidebar before installation of Windows for you, or some other change to the sidebar gadgets
