  I just got this laptop borrowed a few weeks ago because my computer is dead.
  I don't think he left on warranty.

  You can try to remove the battery and the power adapter for several hours as described here:

  In the worst case it s really a hardware malfunction and I assume that this has something to do with the motherboard, but I think that this should be verified to an authorized service because they have professional tools to check it.

  I doubt it s something wrong with the HARD drive or the BIOS. To me, it looks like a serious hardware problem, but that s my personal opinion

  This weekend, I fell in front of my Z3 Compact (glass and LCD :-(), insofar as the touch screen is now inadmissible (bar a small section below on the right) and there is a small section in the top corner which is all black. So far I can say that the phone still works perfectly under this, if I'm good with the part of the screen that always works, I can open the applications menu, check running applications etc and my alarm is always wake me in the morning...

  Obviously it is not covered by the warranty, as this isn't a fault of manufacturers so I was wondering if anyone has had similar to their Compact Z3 damage and could give me that an idea of how the repair is likely to cost?

  Apparently Sony can't give me a quote (or even an estimate) until I have send to them and at that time there, I would have to pay to get the phone back unrepaired if it was too much for me to pay right now.
