Could someone use the iMac as a monitor with a new MacBook Pro?

We bought a new 13 "MacBook Pro and still have our old iMac monitor. It would be great to use the large size of the old, almost dead iMac screen. Does anyone have this done successfully?

Thank you!

Only some models of iMac (latest) have the ability to be used as a screen for another Mac.  This function is called target Display Mode.  This document contains more information, including the models of iMac with the ability to target Display Mode.

  • Can I use a LED Cinema Display of pre-2009 with a new MacBook Pro retina?

    Hello

I am currently using a pre-2009 LED Cinema Display with a MacBook Air from mid-2011.

Now, I want to replace my old MacBook Air with a brand new MacBook Pro 13 "retina.

This combination works always and, above all, the Cinema Display Monitor will be able to manage the resolution of the retina?

I have never seen anything in the resolution of the retina on the screen of cinema in 7 years, so I wonder if he can really handle.

    Thanks for any help.

The Cinema Display isn't a Retina display, so it will not show HiDPI resolutions. But it will work fine with your new machine.

  • Is someone using the data cloud connector Melissa with Eloqua

We are in the middle of our integration and try to make calls from Melissa Data of our Eloqua forms.  Anyone out there who did or can provide an overview?

I understand that if someone used this service in real time - if a person completes a form and between a postal code invalid - in real-time we ping Melissa Data to know it is a zip code not valid, and the person filling out the form receives a message that is not valid the data.  Our territory lead routing depends on ensuring that we correct geographic information if we want the data validated in real time.  Thank you!

    Maia,

I could be wrong, but I'm not aware of a Melissa data cloud connector which was built immediately.  From what I know, I think that David York (on this thread) may be closest on that.  There are other people interested too, can't wait to see it built.

  • The difficulty to transfer CC on a new MacBook Pro

I've recently upgraded to a new Pro (2015) MacBook after my old MBP (2010) pretty much died. I initially used the Migration Wizard to get all my preferences transferred to the new machine. Is that after that, I discovered that I had to expunge the registration of the software on the old computer before you uninstall it, and it's a bad idea to use the migration to Adobe CC products Wizard.

I reinstalled from the major applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver) back on the older machine, go to help > unregister the software and registered / on behalf of adobe on the old computer. Then reinstalled CC Adobe Application Manager, I am continuously with a white blank plate when I try and access the CC. I'm able to connect to Adobe CC on the site, but even when I try and download a new program/APP (photoshop for example) it takes me to the Manager Application VIRGIN CC and not going anywhere.

I get this question and some people suggested I should go in/Library/Application Support / Adobe / OOBE and then delete the odd.db file. I have done that and restarted the Application Manager & the computer, but still not get any progress.

Any help on this would be appreciated. I am now in my third day to try to solve this problems, and it's driving me crazy!

OK, it isn't a good idea to migrate or restore the software. Please install the Adobe Creative Cloud here Desktop app

Download Adobe Creative apps for the Cloud

    Help, please.

Contact Adobe technical support via chat and ask them to reset your activations.  You are allowed to have two machines with activated installations, but it is probably best to get reset before you install on the new machine.

  • How can I transfer the mail, Safari, iTunes, etc of my 2008 MacBook running OS 10.5.8, a new MacBook Pro (with Ethernet port) or a new MacBook Air?

I replace my 2008 Macbook which maxed out at OS 10.5.8, with a new MacBook Pro or MacBook Air.  The Pro has an Ethernet port, the Air is not.  I want to transfer all the data from my application (mail, Safari, iTunes, etc.) for the new Macbook that will run El Capitan.  How can I do?

What machine you're leaning towards? With Air, you have to use ether WIFI or have the old drive on an external drive configuration. With a new Macbook Pro, the simplest method is to use the migration assistant. Access your Macbook in public services and to see, there you have it. Here is a link to what you can do.  http://pondini.org/OSX/SetupLion.html It is said Lion, but it applies the same. Here's what apple says.  https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT204350 you should know that some of the apps in Leopard will be obsolete in El Captian. There you transfer, it can cause problems. I use the thinking that if I can replace it with a download I do this. The transfer or, if there is an update for it.

Of course, I hear it's possible with the appropriate cable. But if it is not possible, I would like to know for sure.

  • Use the iMac with bootcamp as a monitor

    Dear community,

Currently, I use my windows desktop pc, and I would use my iMac (24 inch end 2010) as a second monitor. The iMac runs on bootcamp and the apple partition is unfortunately broken. This means that I can only use windows on my iMac. Now, I want to use the iMac as my second monitor. Should what cable I buy to make it work? And how do I use target mode on windows (can not enter my Mac partition...)? I'm a little worried about buying bad cables. If anyone knows how to solve this problem, I would greatly appreciate your help!

Sorry for my English, if you don't understand something just ask me.

  • Use the Apple Cinema Display Monitor on iMac 5K?

I think the upgrade from my old 'tour' Mac Pro to an iMac of 5K.  It still basically works, but seems inexplicably slow and the two is soft RAID and the system as a whole is more in more not supported.

Anyway, he has a gorgeous, fully working 30 '' Apple Cinema Display (apparently A1083 model number), which I believe connects via DVI.  I wish you to continue to use this monitor with a new iMac, in addition to the 5 K monitor integrated, of course.

Does anyone know a Thunderbolt/DVI adapter?  I searched a bit, but so far have not found anything...

Having found nothing on Apple's site, I thought, what the devil and checked Amazon.  I found that something called "J & D Mini DisplayPort (Thunderbolt) to DVI adapter cable converter.

Does this mean that the Thunderbolt is identical to what PCs call mini-Display port?
