  I have by mistake upgraded to El Capitan, while using CS6, and it caused problems since. My iMac would be cut and then turn again, turn off, suite... repeatedly. Apple and I did a lot of troubleshooting before I checked the compatibility and realized CS6 and El Capitan are incompatible. Duh!

  I erased from my hard drive and reinstalled my old OS, 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) and then used my saved .dmg since when I bought CS6 years ago and resettled. The computer always crushed.

  
  

  I then downloaded new files from Adobe and ran to InDesign and Photoshop, sometimes all day yesterday and it was fine. Today, I was once again, the two, but in USING Photoshop running when it crashed again. When it crashes, the screen goes gray white and it takes several tries in Recovery Mode or Cmd Option PR to get it back in service again.

  If I am to the old OS and files installed in new ONES from Adobe, I don't understand why it always crashes. I was wondering if anyone else has had similar problems?

  Apple ran the diagnostics on the computer last week and they said that the material was normal, so there must be software I'm running.

  Everything Apple say looks like a hardware failure. If they say that it is the application software you their ignorance is alarming. A key point of Mac OS is that an application cannot crash the system. So, if an application does not seem to cause this, the system or equipment is defective. Note that the selected as system boards and video as the hardware device drivers. I have a Mac where the video card is faulty and blocking the Mac when you run too.

  All your windows updates are installed?  Try to clean the Windows thumbnail species.  I think use Adobe the OS dialog for features like open file. Also, to get thumbnails for RAW file PSD files, you will need to install codecs in windows. I use the fastepictureviewer codec package. What version of Windows are you using the dialog box look like a windows problem.

My photoshop CS6 look at any file I open as corrupt (see examples below) but when I save them, they are ok in the preview windows / bridge etc... its only showing really weird in photoshop!   This could be the problem now familiar ATI driver where it will be black on any color where the red channel is 0.  Do you have all the video cards ATI?

  There are several workaround solutions...  One of them, you should get working again:

  1. install the driver beta ATI Catalyst 13.2 from the ATI web site (that's my recommendation).

  2. back to the driver ATI Catalyst 12.8, specifically.  Do not install any version later 12.8 or earlier to 13.2.

  3. change your preferences of Performance, advanced GPU settings in basic mode and restart Photoshop.

  I have personally tested the pilot 13.2 beta 5 for a week now, and it works perfectly stable.  I have not yet tested beta 6.  ATI seems to have finally listened to Adobe and fixed the issue in article 13.2.

  Could you please move one of the files to the network drive on the desktop and then try to open the file in Photoshop /Bridge.

  There are some features in CC which won't work with CS6.  You can always open your images in CS6, but some smart object could be pixelated if they are not supported in CS6.  For example, if you had a smart object with the shake reduction applied.  You should get a warning when opening the file, but it should still open.

  In addition, my OneDrive has problems with commissioning. Stuck it doing. No idea if they are related. I tried to do a system restore to a restore point that several days ago, and he almost killed my computer. Somehow he damaged a file critical and would not start Windows, update the system would not work because it claims that the drive has been locked, he tried claiming my recovery media was not valid (it was originally windows 8 CD I used to install from), and finally I was able to get Windows to recover using the tool to restart system available on the CD.   I got exactly the same problem with the MSDTC.log. I finally just gave up any attempt to install the update. The tendency to blame the problems with this update on Avast (that I have not installed) have obscured the fact that there is something in this update that wreaks havoc on many computers Windows 8.1.
