CPU CQ60 power

Hello I intend to spend my processor on my CQ60-224NR. The vehicle currently has a Pentium Dual Core T3400, and I bought a Core 2 Duo T7700 SLAF7. They both have the same socket (Socket P) and it also fits. (I tried.) The only problem was that as soon as I plugged my computer it turned on by itself. I put the Pentium back in and I'm in my current position. I sent Wistron on BIOS, and they told me that I should tell HP about this. I searched a link email about this and couldn't find one. So now I'm here. I just installed it wrong, if it is not supported or do I need a different BIOS?

Hello:

According to the service manual for your laptop, the T7700 is not a supported processor.

Please see page 1-1 for a list of supported processors.

    Help, please

Hi, I have HP 8000 elite, the problem is the power supply on my PC is damaged due to a power surge problem, I fixed it. But it does not work very well. Now I turn the power button that is not starts it becomes red power light and 4 times gives a beep both cpu and power fans are not turning on. Now, I want to buy a new PSU, but then I came to know that my PC has a rare type of food that is not normally available on the market, other feeds standerd does not work on this forum.

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro A60 and when I turn on the machine, the lights come on and the fan whirls for about 5 seconds and then the machine just turns off again.

No matter if I have the battery or HARD drive in or not, the same phenomenon occurs.
I guess it's problem of CPU or power supply Board, but I don't know.
Is there anyone else who has had this problem and if so how is it resolved?

    Hello

I guess it can be a single processor or card mother related issue.
If there is something wrong with the power supply for laptop card then the cell phone would not turn on, even for 5 sec.

But it's only my personal suggestion to make sure what's exactly wrong check specifications should be necessary.

So I think that a laptop computer technician should check it out.

  • Replace the power supply, computer does not turn on

I had a Seasonic SS 560 KM power supply for my HP Pav e9280t.  I removed the old power supply while keeping the power cable is plugged in.  Then replaced each power cables one at a time in the new power supply and finally he attached to the tower.

Now when I try to turn on your computer, it just boots barely upward.  I can hear the fans kick on for a second or two, then everything just stops.

Since I replaced the cables one at a time I don't think I missed anything; MoBo, Fan of MoBo, 1 optical drive, disk HARD 2 and 1GPU.  The tower is open and I can see the fan, the fan GPU MoBo and PSU fan all hang on one second so that they get the right power?

I must have missed something or possibly faulty PSU?  Any help will be appreciated.

Hello Chadow86, it is possible to the new power supply may be faulty. I would check double all the connectors again.

Since you mentioned the fan to the motherboard, it would not be necessary to unplug the CPU fan when you changed the power supply. The CPU fan power source comes from the motherboard and not directly from the power supply. I don't know what fan on the motherboard you are talking about.

I watched the specifications and photos of the new power supply. It is a modular design. I would check the cables connected to the power supply to make sure that they are in the correct connectors.

If the system still does not start, the cause could be a new power supply faulty.

    I hope this helps.

  • Z840 HP: HP Z840 CPU

Pending an answer to my question of cooling liquid, I will ask another question.

The line processor Xeon E5 is the fastest CPU listed for the Z840. It looks like a Xeon E7-8891 is faster and I wonder if it might be available in the Z840 in the near future? Any plans for a Xeon E7 for the Z840?

    GTWatson77459 wrote:

"With my situation in mind, what would be the best compromise of clock speed and the number of cores of the Z840?

It's an interesting question.  The short answer is that it is application specific, but it is difficult to determine how to balance carrots vs. frequency for each application.  I don't really know the answer, but there are several variables to consider.

The Z840 supports 3.5 GHz 4 core 2.3 GHz 18 of the CPU core.  Intel numbers according to their idea of relative performance processors, i.e., E5-2699 is the 'up' and the E5-2603 to 1.6 GHz and 6 hearts is the lowest.  HP QuickSpecs Z840 are here.   This gives a rough idea of the relative performance.

Some points of reference, such as those on cpubenchmark.net, have higher ratings for processors with the majority of souls.  It's a way to rate CPU.  But we know as high-frequency players less lower cores.  The Z840 offers the processor 3.1 GHz 10 E5-2687W, which is a CPU high power (160W) Workstation only.  This could be the sweet spot, but don't take my word for it that it will be the best for your application.

    A little off-topic technical discussion:

Frequency rated core from Intel is the guaranteed minimum of frequency.  All processors have the Turbo Boost technology, which increases the base frequencies by steps of 100 MHz.  CPUs are given numbers for turbo steps maximum 'all basic' and 'carrot' turbo maximum steps.  For example, the E5-2699 is only 2.3 GHz, but can stimulate all the hearts in 5 steps and a carrot in 13 stages, under certain conditions.

Intel found that the maximum power of the CPU is limited by the temperature of die.  Too hot, and the industry may be damaged (in fact it is thermally first throttle) so Intel limited the power being dissipated.  (Each processor has a rated output of Groove).  Die temperature corresponds to the use of the power of the CPU.  Use your analogy (of cleaning units = pressure x Volume) pressure washer, similarly, CPU power dissipation is a function of: [frequency of the processor (higher freq = more power used), the number of active nuclei and the load on each core].  The idea is to run the CPU at a high level of power for maximum performance, so the frequency of the hearts will vary depending on the load.

If the system uses only 1 core, temperature of die will get too hot, if there is an another carrots 15 just sitting there.  In this case, Intel will increase the active base of several steps of 100 MHz frequency.  10 stages = 1 GHz, so what rated 2.3 GHz CPU could run to 3.3 GHz for a short period.  If all hearts work 100%, the hottest of, so the frequency of operation may be limited to the nominal value.  The frequency may change the order of milliseconds, if I remember correctly.

Another mechanical analogy, it is that of a car with a redline 6000.  Maximum power (= performance) is then carried out to redline, even, the CPU performance maximum occurs at the maximum temperature limit.  If the CPU can run at up to x Watts, why not increase the frequency when he's not stressed?

It is a simplification, but tries to explain the operation of the CPU.  Sometimes people post in the forums that their CPU temp is high, and they are worried about it.  As long as the temperature is lower than the maximum junction temperature Tj max, it's OK.  (Running coretemp program displays Tj max and the base time, FYI).  If the system is working properly, with the correct heater and the circulation of air, it runs the warmer is a sign to get the best performance from the system.  Running a car to redline makes it go faster, but it heats up.  ;-)

BTW, in the same way, if the CPU usage is very low, the frequency of the processor will drop a lot of steps, sometimes a GHz or more.  This is done to save overall system power when the processors don't make much.  Run an active program of CPU frequency will show bounce everywhere.

The UC E5-2687W is the only supported processor 160W.  Intel suggests that it's the highest "balance" CPU because it has a relatively high frequency of 3.1 GHz to 10 cores and has more thermal height.  But even once, do not take my word for it that it is better for your application.

HP found that some programs do not recognize more than 64 hearts, so 2 x 18 E5-2699 processors cores with hyperthreading, will use only 64 out of 88 cores available (with active Hyperthreading).  Just another complication.  FOR INFO.

Sorry for the long post, but I hope that some of it is useful.

  • Area 51 - R2, choice of power supply?

    Hello

I'll buy a new Alienware Area 51 tonight. I decided to put one card video in for now and upgrade/add later.

On the Alienware website, it says that there 850w for a video card and 1500w for several video cards, but I can't choose to take.

If I buy a single video card, I can supply 1500w? Or is there a software in the Alienware to change power?

    Thank you for your reply,

    Antoine Bedaton

    DELL-Chris M
On the siteof USA, I choose food, but you must also choose the correct CPU for the power supply.

Well well, what do we have here Mr. M? This looks like something for me. Is the way to this Alienware to say than those who choose the Cpu Hotwell & "match" power supply - as if such a thing could even exist within our reality - until later, when the buyer prefers to upgrade to Bwell Cpu, their power will be, what exactly? Not approved?

A wiki article, operation / well are two processors of tdp of 140 watts. What could be the problem requiring different "options"? Why not make all power supply purchases of "approved"? I see no mention well v. Haswell requirements or revisions on Corsair ax1500i EVGA 1600 (or) Newegg or online, while D850EF-00, D1500EF-HU850EF-00-00 the site of 80Plus PlugLoadSoltions say 850/1500 have no change since their certifications 2 years ago. The search term ' Broadwell-E approved (or certified) power ' doesn't produce any meaningful information to the public, certainly from Intel. Facing no new Broadwell-E approved power supplies released at Computex 2016, asked how all overclockers took well to extreme overclocks of liquid nitrogen (LN2) at the Intel-sponsored by using "old Haswell" overclocking event power both strive for & then achieve these records of the world. Not that I'd buy it, but the Thermaltake 1500w titanium, unveiled at Computex last month, makes no mention of being Broadwell-E approved; a strange situation titanium now their coronation, ostensibly in free use at Computex to show itself

I smell something here, or here, something that falls on the advantage of the consumer in the future later when choosing operating cpu & 'box' in 'outdated' operation single power supply

I would like to label these types of non-descript as unacceptable antics for a particular reason: asked about Facebook to explain exactly what that ships inside the Area-51, the public is directed to the sales page area - 51.com. the screenshot of your above don't tell us anything about the hardware itself. When asked to point blank that ships inside new desktops Broadwell, Joe Olmsted declined to comment, has refused to help raise awareness about the most expensive non-descript present hardware options or not to this day. It's unbearable, given the outdated and ambiguous to the actual sales page, both CGI & text

If our points of sale, which are intended to evaluate the public of what they buy cannot come from Facebook where the question itself is removed from public display by employee Alien - RC (documented), cannot come from the sales Page, & cannot come from the Product Planner himself on Dell.com, what are we going to do Mr M, in order to better inform us about the material & its specifications? Are we to go it misleading error CGI & ambiguous text? Are you able to contact Alienware for a response & post their response to us here, in order to better inform the public what new operation v Broadwell supply means or can mean for the consumer, past present & future?

Knowledge in itself can help the buyer choose between 5820 k c. 6800 k for example, as a simple decision made scalability now when it's appropriate, or, in the event of the loss of scalability an opt - in operation now in the face of any literature or deliberate or business help in social media or other outlets to be informed, making the consumer that is unaware of a decision that had to be do now when it reasonably & affordable can. If I ask this question to the Technical Support Arena under my username, can I be guaranteed a timely response or will I ignored as is done in almost all of my technical questions it last year?

What makes well 850/1500 '? "than the 850/1500 only

Of some importance is the following: can u get the new 850w / 1500w numbers - if they exist - and if they do, please post them here for the public, so past operating & future buyers may have the "approved" Broadwell from manufacturer to purchase now or later. 850 buyers may like the 1500 later, perhaps accompanied by the warning not to install 800GY 'approved' 1500w operation, but only install 'new' well 1500

Is the safety of the products, EMC and environmental datasheet now obsolete?

Yes or no: can we expect a revised report of the compliance test for 'new Broadwell' approved psu?

Mr President, here & now is as good a time & place as any to make these distinctions, if they exist. The doubting Thomas is waiting with impatience the results of your research in these areas above & below

As all the previous Area-51 R2 buyers are the last people on Earth who still can not spend processor Broadwell-E due to no support Alienware a month after the debut of well, This is due to a 'no-Broadwell-E' authorized unsuited to the American system power?

If past operation of buyer power is sufficient to run well Finally, why are new buyers well requested option to a power of good, while the new buyers of Haswell are prohibited to?

If the power supply of the new buyer is not enough to run well Finally, why are new buyers Haswell prohibited access to it at the time of the purchase?

Why is well approved psu an element of equal access to all buyers & most of all, why is not backward compatible with the Hwell? Why two options of PSU & the only "best option"?

What are the documents will be produced - and when - announcing & confirming that all systems of eqwipped Hwell sold currently passed & future are also in fact approved material - & otherwise approved - why not

Can you provide a majority or all of the above, or should we stay on Facebook & Twitter?

    At your leisure...

    Oh. There is more

Please find & view the reference number of the new Aurora R5 850w, which is capable of powering of double - 300 watt cards & is far superior to the Area-51 850 watt who cannot supply double cards of 250 watts. There may be in the population of Area-51 owners who want to "pass" to Aurora R5 850 watt later in order to run double 250 watts or cards double 300 watt, without incurring the high cost of the 1500 watts

We would like to know if the 850 watt in Aurora is also Broadwell-E approved, in order to better integrate into a system if it is the fault of the owner - either by a X 99 micro-ATX card mother swap to Aurora - or simple plug & play in A-51, regardless of whether an operating system or. Compatibility seems in doubt

Is Aurora 850w approved by good: If so, why Yes... If not, why not

('we don't test Skylake R5 with good compatibility, no response from here ', I heard u say?)

Note: Aurora R5 is not "Skylake approved", or Hwell/well approved: it's just one power supply like any other we beings humans are you use to run an Intel High performance after 2013 & my little finger tells me that it is exactly the same one as it was still inside the Area-51, even now. The 850 in R5 should not have to be tested for compatibility with Hwell/well, he should just "be a known" as opposed to marked a "unknown" "untested". What kind of technology company can't know if their power is compatible with all Intel processors or not. Exactly. Google 'the great 2013 Haswell PSU compatibility list'. Transparency. The qwestion is not what what can he do inside the Aurora, but what can he do outside, like a stand-alone. Certainly, it has been tested both within the Aurora & A51 for full compatibility Sky-Hwell-well, to say or think otherwise is absurd

Option of the A51 Haswell 850/1500 before = compatible: Yes No as above

  • Disabling the cpu fan on HP p6210f

I recently installed a Cooler Master Hyper 212 plus, which uses a power connector 4-pin CPU fan. The HP p6210f has a Pegatron M2N78 - THE motherboard, which has a 3 - pin CPU fan power connector. The fan turns on fine, but then stops and I get a message before Windows 7 Professional can load the CPU fan has failed and the computer turns off.

Everything I've read suggests that the new fan does not spin fast enough for the taste of the motherboard and that, given that the fan works properly, I can safely disable the CPU fan error in the system BIOS. Yet, I don't see an option for this disable in the BIOS. How can I turn off the error on a HP p6210f CPU fan?

RoJCor wrote... "I would still be able to access my full BIOS."

What you have is the complete HP BIOS. HP and many other features of locking of the OEM in the BIOS to prevent users from accidentally and unintentionally change the settings which becomes a service call. The only way to restore the features which have been locked, is to ask a hack or modification of one of the sites that do this kind of thing. Don't forget that the desired function may not be in the BIOS first, the BIOS can be difficult to hack or modify, or that you end up with a virus or other.
