CPU on IPS 4255 constantly at 100%

Hello

looking at the CPU of the device process I noticed that more tha 95% of usage is "inactive".

On the Cisco IPS Manager Express I see under the sensor information: Analisys engine status: reconfigure the activity engine and user: LoadConfigtrojan.udp

Can anyone help?

Thank you!

Hello Carlo,.

What version of the code you run IPS? This issue was observed in early 2010 when executing the first versions 6.2 and 7.0. She is usually accompanied by a core.txt, which can be seen in the result of a "tech show."

If you want to pursue the issue, please open a TAC case and attach a "tech show." In addition, an upgrade to the latest code in your train should solve the problem.

Thank you

I've never heard of Bullguard, and he certainly isn't one of the
    best antivirus products.

My guess is that you are infected with malware.

For an anti-virus program, I recommend eSet NOD32, if you're ready
to pay for it. If you want a free anti-virus, I recommend one (are not
run several) of the following three:

    Avira AntiVir
    Avast
    Microsoft Security Essentials

You also need anti-spyware software. I recommend that you download and
(both freeware) to install MalwareBytes AntiMalware and
    SuperAntiSpyware.

  • Techniques need more details 4250XL IPS and IPS-4255

4250XL IDS launched before the IPS technology, am I right?

Can I deploy a 4250XL ID as an IPS, if yes, then it's true to upgrade this version IDS 4.1 to IPS ver 5.0

    I add 4 10/100/1000BaseT ports on ID 4250XL.

Because, I have to deploy IPS to 1 Gbps throughput.

and I could not find an IPS in CISCO will produce 1 Gbit/s with 4-port 10/100/1000BaseT.

How many simultaneous sessions support IPS 4200 series.

How can I use feature Redundant Power Supply on IPS-4255.

Technical documentation 42xx is linked off the coast of http://www.cisco.com/go/ips. I don't know if IPS 5.0 information is still (it's kinda new). There is no option RPS for the 4240/4255, but recommends the use of a UPS would be justified for packaging line if you have unreliable power.

There is no provision for failover in the transducer (other than the bypass mode), but there are drawings (I hope bound off the page that I mentioned above) to do network active / standby designs.

The 4240 and 4255 do not have redundant storage... they have no HDD due to reliability problems. They run a flash and ram disk configuration.

  • Winlogon.exe chewing up 50% of my CPU... ?? (100% of 1 core)

I see a lot of complaints about it online, but I have not found one answer to the problem.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate x 64 I got from the network of developers Microsoft TechNet.  At least once a day, winlogon.exe starts chewing my CPU.  He sticks almost 50% (100% of one of my cores of the processor in this computer to dual-core) and completely disrupts my ability to get work done on this machine.

Again, I see all sorts of complaints about it online, but I have not met one possible solution to the problem.

If I kill winlogon.exe in the Task Manager, it comes right away, but eventually it stops.  A restart is sometimes useful, but sometimes it starts up again just after my reboot.  I've never been able to find any rhyme or reason to why / when that starts to happen.

It drives me crazy and I really could use some information about the resolution of this problem.  Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  • Percentage of maximum CPU Windows 7 constantly frequency > 100%

Under Windows, I find that my CPU fan runs constantly audible. The fan made ramp immediately after Windows starts, even with no applications running. Windows resource monitor shows the CPU usage in the range of 25 to 40%. However, the maximum percentage of CPU frequency is consistently above 100% (usually around 110-115%). This means that the system is too overclocking? If so, is it logical to deduce that this may cause the CPU fan to run so much? Finally, how can I get this back to 100% (or less)?

The fan does not this way under MacOS.

on Satellite P100 (17 ", GF7600 GPU, etc) with the latest version of the bios 3.30 is possible and it works 100%. I tested on P100-108 with T2300.

T7200 upgrade went without any problems and the bios identified with success the new processor.
The disadvantage of this upgrade is (if we ignore the high price of the c2duo :-)) who to change the CPU on the P100 series you

  • IPS-4255 does not connect

    Hello

I installed 4255 IPS with version 2.0000 E4 and the use of IME 7.0.2.

I'm not able to view the logs in the EMI (event monitoring), but when I access it by CLI (show events) I can see the newspapers.

I also tried to set a signature for large packet ICMP log and deny traffic (with the help of refuse the inlne package and refuse the attacker inline) and ping

a server from inside to the outside with a big package. In this case, EMI showed the newspapers, but he did not deny the traffic.

    Did I miss something here?

Another question, IPS at least records traffic ip that are configured for "never block ip addresses.

    Please I need help.

    Thanks and regards,

    George

    George;

1-OK, it's good that the State of the event is logged.

2 - by checking all the four severities in the properties of the device, you asked IME not retrieve events from these four severities.  You should uncheck these severities to enable IME recover all the severities of event.  Please note the text with IME reads, "exclude the following severity level alerts.

3 - if there are no events in real time, probably not having historical events.

    4. as your sensor is configured for inline and promiscuous operation, deny actions come into force on the events generated by the inline interface pair.  If the event is generated by the interface of promiscuity, the deny action cannot be performed.

Whether your network is completely IPv4; It is possible for systems running Windows and Mac OS X to have IPv6 enabled by default and in turn generate the traffic on your network.

If a signature event fires and "Product Alert" action is affected, the IPS must record the activity regardless of the host being listed as not to block or not.

  • Tecra A9 - after CPU fan upgrade works constantly at full power

    Hi all

I have 3 Tecra A9 notebook that came with a Core2Duo T7100 clocked at 1.8 Ghz with 2 MB of Cache. Updated every 3 to a T7700 clocked at 2.4 Ghz with 4 MB of Cache. According to Intel, these two processors TDP is 35W. Books don't get really hot and not hot. The CPU FAN starts right full power after the display of the BIOS with the Toshiba Logo screen. Under Bios Version 2.1 on all 3 systems, having the same behavior on all 3 systems. CPU properly recognized under Windows XP, Win7, and Win10. Is it possible to get the adjusted to normal CPU fan? The system isn t is hotter than upgrading the CPU, just for some reason any BIOS has now decided the fan must operate at full power. I even traded one of the CPU Fans with that of a Tecra A10 notebook but had the same effect as with the original fan. Having no idea what I could do. I hope for your help!

    Best regards

I think that needs calibration to be performed to configure the table of fan speed.

  • My CPU runs at the age of 100% of use and explorer.exe is 93% _

How can I solve this problem? I tried scans, I cut my startup programs. Explorer 8 is my problem? I need help please?

Internet Explorer and explorer.exe are two different things - explorer.exe
is what is used when opening Windows/computer explore / your user profile
Such problems can be difficult to nail - but the most common cause is
    probably of malware any.
You say you have run some scans - what? You must run a full system scan
with you to update anti-virus and at least a spyware cleaner - MalwareBytes
    Anti-Malware is current best-of-breed.
Second cause is a problem with the hard drive:-run a CHKDSK
of right search box and see if it says errors - if it runs then one
elevated command prompt and run CHKDSK /F (windows will work say that it cannot)
Run now and ask to start after reboot - answer Yes and restart).

Third is the file system - a high command prompt and the command prompt
type SFC/scannow - and wait until it is finished, what might be some
    time.

See if that lot helps and post back with the results.

    Good luck
