• Lack of 'Destination subfolder Options' during the import

  During a recent update, I lost the ability to choose a subfolder when importing on the right side of the screen to import. I understand that you choose a folder in the albums 'TO' section, but my photos still close up in a subfolder inside the selected destination folder.

  Your screenshot shows that you use ADD instead of COPY, MOVE or copy as DNG so that there is no sign of Destination.

  It is possible that you inadvertently restore default settings develop Adobe. To check, take one of the images B & W develop, hold down the SHIFT key and the Reset button (bottom right) will change on "Reset (Adobe)"... click on this and if the image comes back to color then it is indeed the problem.   We are one of our databases of migration from linux to AIX (test phase). We are using the transportable tablespace for the same thing. All the steps are done and we are stuck during the import of metadata. When importing metadata, we need the full data file name which should be plugged. The number of data files is 309 and the name of all the data files must be in a single line. Now, if we try to write in a single line using the editor vi, the editor gives error ' ex: 0602-140'.

  try to make option parfile a file from vi editor that contains the datafile option and 309 lines of datafile.this way you nned do not all put in the same line.

  There is an option in your Lightroom preferences, under the general tab, "treat JPEG files next to raw in form of images".   schemas will be created automatically only when you import lots.
  tables will be created either you do complete / schema / table level import.

  I have a camera Sony TRV-900F video connected via FW800 to an iMac late 2009 with 16 GB of RAM, a quad core i7 2.8 and one 1 original to HDD with El Capitan.

  What I don't understand, is that, at least apparently, none of these problems of 'corruption' appears if I look/hear the tapes in camcorder Sony itself!

  I tried to use iMovie and same fragmentation occurs so I guess it is not related to the SO FCPX itself.

  So far, I have received the iMac 1 TB hard drive and now have tried to import on a 128 GB SSD in a USB enclosure (which is USB3, but if I'm not mistaken my iMacs USB ports are USB2). Even to jump occurs.

  Maybe I need to configure the SSD in a different way and to define not only as the backup directory for imports?

  If the best ideas don't come to mind the next tests I'll make are:

  (a) purchase of a NEW band and try to record and import from it. If it works, this would indicate the older strips are damaged, but it does not explain why they look good in the camera.

• Problem with the scale of the images during the import.

  I think I got it. If you put the text below into a file extension .lrsmcol and call 01_Jan. You can do a right click any where on the Collection Panel, choose Import Smart Collection settings and it will create a collection called 201401 - Jan will all images published here this month. It is a simplified version of a smart collection for a workflow. If you have 12 files, one for each month, you can select in the dialog box, and it will create 12 collections.

  A minor warning, Text Edit on my Mac replaced the quotes with double quotes. LR would fail to import missing files of the quotes or double quotes (I guess malformed) with like this without raising any errors. I had to disable the quotes in Text Edit.

  Hello. I have XP with LR2.5 and Ps CS4 and ACR 5.5. My camera (Leica M8) produces DNG files as native format.

  I'm confused about methods to apply compression without loss for the DNG files. I've used this successfully before but am currently unable to reproduce this function with LR2.

  I have a compression without loss for DNG defined in preferences. I import the files from the card and application of a change to the file, for example, WB, then click Update metadata and preview as a workaround. However the file sizes do not seem to change.

  Since I open DNG in another converter in ACR too I am confused where the lossless compression has been applied previously.

  I have successfully implemented this compression with ACR in the past, but try to learn the workflow of LR.

  I'm also not sure if I can get the compression lossless applied during import.

  Indications as to what I am now missing would be greatly appreciated.

  I don't think that in the workflow that you describe is there a possibility for data must be compressed by Lightroom. Update of metadata in dng file does not have the RAW data, so it is normal that the file size does not change.

  You can set the component import up to "copy photos in dng. I think this re-compress the dng, but I've never owned a camera that uses dng as a native format, so I'm not sure about this. Otherwise, you can after importation "convert photo to DNG" from the Edit menu. This should also convert files that already are dng.
