  Is it possible to integrate a white space inserted (en character) in a paragraph style?

  I created a paragraph to chapter headings style. Chapter and number are centered horizontally on the page with a thick end line (key) on each side - a little like that, except that I use the dashboard to create the line in this example:

  -------------------------------------  Chapter 2  ------------------------------------

  Inserted white spaces before and after 'Chapter 2'.  However, when I try to apply the paragraph style to another title, the spaces are not there.

  (Line thin thickness was created as text underscore and the offset is vertically centered with the text.  It would make a difference if I created the thick end line in the form of a graph?)

  Oh and I also tried to create an object style, but it does not recognize spaces, either.  I know that something will work, but little by little learning has not met yet the solution.

  Do it like this:

  1 make the high line a paragraph above net. Assign the 'Column' width (full) and set its vertical offset in right position.

  2. Add a paragraph below NET. Together, this upright even shifted, but makes a little (or a lot) more thick. Set its color [Book]. Set the width of 'Text', not 'column '. Then set the negative value of the width approx. white space you want on the left and right - something like 'mm-2' the left indent and right.

  Press Ctrl + A to select your entire file, and then click the paragraph Options (the button at the bottom right in the paragraph on the Home tab group).  Uncheck "Add 10pt space after paragraphs."

  To create new documents this setting is already selected, follow these steps:
  1 - Create a new empty file, then follow the steps above to disable the spacing option.
  2 - save the file in the folder C:\Windows\ShellNew with a file name as "new WordPad file.
  3 - follow the steps on this support page to create a link from the context menu to create a new file based on this template: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/140333
  4. whenever you want to create a file with this option already set, just right-click on your desktop or in a folder and choose New > WordPad file.

• Script to create an example of each paragraph Style?

  Hi all

  Has anyone seen a script that generates an example of all the paragraph styles that are loaded into a document (the name of actual paragraph style as style would be a plus)?

  I have a script to export all paragraph style settings, but it would be nice to show all my co-workers who are preparing to move to INDD what each style looks like actually. It would also eliminate all duplicate with different names.

• The space between two different paragraph style

  I'm working on a book, and I would like to first of all a standard space between two paragraph styles.

  I have the paragraph of text and the reference point. I would like to put an extra space when a paragraph of text is followed by a reference point and vice versa.

  I usually do it in html with CSS, it's like

  p.text + p.citation {pad-bottom: 5px;} 
  

  My goal is to have a space between the text and citations, even if citations are multi point (and of course, without any paragraph empty additional)

  You probably need to two additional styles to represent the paragraph "first" that uses the text or styles of citation, with spacing before added, and text or reference style defined as following Style, like matches, for each, so that you can use for the first paragraph after a change. You can base teas on current styles and just add space.

• Space after paragraph: how picas equal to an empty line in Garamond 7.5 regular?

  I use Indesign CC and want to add a blank line after each paragraph in my document. I discovered how to do this, but the only unit I am offered is picas. I could probably go to inches, but who does not really help me. My main text is written in font Garamond regular 7.5 size and I would like to have the empty space after each paragraph that is equal to an empty line written in this font with this size. How to do if find a blank line with the font settings much is? I guessed and it seems to be equal to 0p 7, but it would be great if I could make without guessing blindly. I'm happy for any help.

  By default, InDesign assigns leading at 120% of the font size. If you have not changed which, you'll notice in the control bar that your policy is 7.5 and spacing is (9). (When shown in parenthesis it denotes that a default value is used.) You could have a paragraph style that make 7.5, 10.5 lead and it would display the 10.5 without parentheses).

  For the space after you want, in the paragraph Style game your space according to 9pt.

  I'll put text in a book for children. I modified the wee (spacing between words) without changing the character of kerning (spacing between characters in a Word). I did it using keyboard shortcuts. Control-Alt-Backspace
  Now I want to save the settings with the wee altered as a paragraph for the parameter style can be applied throughout the book. "Paragraph style" does not seem to recognize the spacing altered when creating a new paragraph style.
  Anyone can suggest a way I can save a style with the altered word spacing or does not have another work around this amended application settings to individual pages/apagraphs word spacing. I must also say that the pages in the book will not linked text boxes, so apply once for the entire book would not be possible.

  Hi John,.

  It's actually very simple increase of beween words space with a paragraph style.

  In the justification of paragraph options, you have 3 settings for Word spaces: minimum, maximum, and desired. Simply define your space you want for what you want, say 150%.

  This works for both justified and unjustified paragraphs.

  I can't make a list bullet when spacing is identical between the balls but tighter between the lines in the same ball.  I would try to put it in a paragraph style and not manually change the leader because that makes all lines changes

  Leader must be defined for line spacing of paragraph intra, then add space befor or sapce after the paragraph style to add more space between the balls. You may need a second style for the first or the last ball to get the correct space above and below the list.

  I'm having a problem with a site paragraph styles. I created and applied h1, h2 tags etc. to help SEO and everything seemed to work very well so I went to other areas of the site. To revise accordingly the site I decided I want to change some of the tags, however paragraph styles, I created have disappeared since the paragraph style window.

  The problem I have now is that when I write the site the tags are still there in the html code. Is there a way to restore the paragraph currently on a site styles in the paragraph styles selection window?

  Can anyone help? I have a problem - long text (300 + pages) with questions and answers. Questions using the 'x' paragraph style and responses use the paragraph style 'y '. There are usually 3 to 6 paragraphs of the text in each response. I need to replace only the style of the first paragraph after the paragraph style 'z' issue, so that the structure of the styles would look like x-z-y-y-y-y-x-z-y-y... (now it looks like x-y-y-y-y-y-x-y-y-y...). Can it be done using scripts?

  Yes, and you can see the additional empty paragraphs. You must use find/replace to delete (there is an application integrated in the drop-down list in the dialog box).

  I create a menu template that will be used by my client. I'm using a font that has a very wide space between the two words. I can combined a quarter space instead of a regular space between words. This works for me, but won't work for the customer.
