Space after paragraph: how picas equal to an empty line in Garamond 7.5 regular?

I use Indesign CC and want to add a blank line after each paragraph in my document. I discovered how to do this, but the only unit I am offered is picas. I could probably go to inches, but who does not really help me. My main text is written in font Garamond regular 7.5 size and I would like to have the empty space after each paragraph that is equal to an empty line written in this font with this size. How to do if find a blank line with the font settings much is? I guessed and it seems to be equal to 0p 7, but it would be great if I could make without guessing blindly. I'm happy for any help.

By default, InDesign assigns leading at 120% of the font size. If you have not changed which, you'll notice in the control bar that your policy is 7.5 and spacing is (9). (When shown in parenthesis it denotes that a default value is used.) You could have a paragraph style that make 7.5, 10.5 lead and it would display the 10.5 without parentheses).

For the space after you want, in the paragraph Style game your space according to 9pt.

  • Regular expression to remove space after the tag < a... >?

    Hello

    I'm relatively new to using regular Expressions, but am in need who will help me find all the tags < a... > with space immediately after this tag and replace it with the exact same tag, but not space after the tag < a... >.

    Thus, for example, a regular expression that there is:

    < a href = "somelink.html" > Somelink < /a >

    as well as:

    "< a href =" # "MM_swapImgRestore" onmouseover = "MM_swapImage (' sub-nav_button_professional_portal',", ' images/sub-nav_button_ professional_portal_f2.png', 1 ') "> Somelink < /a >

    And just remove the space in the hyperlink.  Does anyone know how to do this?

  • Unformattable Indesign text - how to remove the spaces between paragraphs?

    I have a 95 page indesign document. I have a few unwanted spaces between paragraphs. I could not get rid of these spaces. I tried to replace the formatting, using the window styles to paragraph, but in this case indesign does not yet recognize the formatting. I put paragraphs in form to 0P0 before and after paragraphs, and yet space remains between some paragraphs. I'm going crazy!

    The problem lies in the text imported into strange formatt, but that was five years ago and I don't even have access to the original text to try to import once more. Perhaps because it is a document to Indesign c5 and c6 now I use?

    Any help appreciated with gratitude,

    Sam

    After checking the object applied to blocks of text style: text frame JWK it shows under text frame General Options/Vertical Justification/Align/Justify (Peter Spier mentioned above about this possibility). I would put this Align/Top. Also when you changed the paragraph to align on the grid he left some gaps on some pages. I have put that back in would line up on the starting grid. There will be a reshuffle of the text when you do. To check if everything looks as it should. Make a copy of the file and make your changes there just in case, and let us know how it goes.

  • Create a space after a paragraph Style

    Good, all this may seem odd. All I want to do in CS4 is have a pt 4 extra space after a particular paragraph style. Specifically, my paragraph style, body text, has already "space after" specified in 3 pt. fine. But, for example, when I have three paragraphs of just this style, I want the three paragraphs separated by a pt 4 additional space. (There no consistency in documents when this happens.)

    At first, I thought that it might be possible to do this via a nested character style. Nope. Return to FrameMaker, I used to do this operation manually, whenever I wanted extra space. My coaches adds paragraph tags (ugh).

    Still a newbie...

    Thank you!

    Maybe I'm really missing your meaning here. When I replace a style setting to get more space below, I add the space below the * paragraph *. I don't set anything on the last line. It is no different in Framemaker. In Framemaker, you can add space above or below a paragraph, either as part of a style (FM called a 'format'), or as a replacement style. You "adjust the last line of a paragraph" in each program.

    There is a significant difference between the FrameMaker paragraph
    spacing and more other tools DTP or WP: space between paragraphs FM is
    NO ADDITIVE. Space below a paragraph is not added to the space preceding the
    next paragraph. On FM, wins the largest space. (I think that Ventura)
    This feature has also, or maybe the option for additive or
    agrandissement-one-WINS.)

    If the problem is to make between the paragraph spacing work non-additivement
    as FM, please file a feature request for this as an option, to:

    EDIT: The forum was unavailable for a while, and my answer by e-mail bounced. At the time that I discovered the email rejected, I saw mention of Lizbeth to have used base-on paragraph styles. Probably the style based on a mysterious behavior. The style based on the property information are most visible in the style of set/change dialog box. I'll enter a request feature of indicator for the property based on appearing in the name of a style far appears and, if possible, displays the name of the function paragraph, character, and style object. Master pages show the letter to master based on the page icons in the pages Panel, but they lose their own letter. I also ask for this feature.

  • How can I delete all but 2015 to 2016 nigh (ios10.0.2) iPhone photos to free up space, after synchronizing all photos on my Mac (Yosemite 10.10.5)?

    How can I remove all but 2015 to 2016 photos from my iPhone (ios10.0.2) for free space, after synchronizing all the photos on my mac (Yosemite 10.10.5) computer?

    The fastest way I can think of would be to go to the Albums, go to all the Photos tab, highlight the photo you want to delete and press 'Select' in the upper right corner. Place your finger on the first complete line, you want to remove (if you have pictures that do not have a complete row that you want to remove these institutions, select them individually first), slide your finger on the line so that they are all selected, and then slide up so that it starts automatically at your old photos of scrolling. Once the photos you want to delete are selected, press the trash in the lower right. This will move them to your album "Recently deleted", then they will be always on your phone for 30 days, unless you remove them. If you are sure that you have already backed up these photos and does not accidentally still photos you want, feel free to remove them.

  • Simple? How do you want 'INSERT' function to return the empty space after a field?

    All,

    I just have a PET of brain? I have a situation where I have a field that must return a single space, with a value that has a space before and after it.

    Example:

    In the text == > I'm < field > go to the office. <-notice no space between the two am, < field > and will

    I mean if set to FALSE, then "I am * not * going to the office."
    If true, then "I go to the office."

    If it is true, I am just RETURN(""); <-this returns a blank space

    If FALSE, I tried:

    RET = 'no '.
    RETURN ("" & ret & "");

    This property returns "I am notgoing to UNRWA. <-don't notice any empty space after the 'no '?

    I tried

    RET = 'no ';
    RET2 = ("" & ret);
    RETURN (Insert (ret2, 3, ""));

    Always the same result. What is strange, that is, if I do a RETURN (Insert (ret2, * 2 *, "")); then he comes back "I'm not tgoing to office" <-note the space between the "o" and the "t"?

    Ideas?

    I forgot about it. Depending on which version you use, DAL actually supported a function that will make the hard space for you, like this:

    Val = FLOAT (160) & 'not' & CHAR (160)
    Return (Val)

  • Space between paragraphs

    Hello

    For a long time, I used InDesign CS4 and am wondering if there is a solution to my question?

    I started a digital book where I'm using 14pt Garamond first Pro Medium with a line spacing of 16.

    Under certain conditions, I would double 'Enter' between the two paragraphs, but space is big!

    Reduce the space between two paragraphs?

    Please let me know and you please tel me how to proceed.

    Kind regards

    Jean

    You do not put your mouse between two paragraphs. You select one of the paragraphs (one above or below), and you use the attribute space above or below the space. It is actually very similar to Microsoft Word.

    Here are some pictures. Select a paragraph. Create attributes for the size of the police, conducting (what you call "line spacing"), perhaps a withdrawal of first line. In the paragraph Styles Panel, choose new paragraph Style. I called mine exemplary body.

    To add space between paragraphs, go in the indents and spacing Panel (left). Set the value of the space below as shown below:

    I use picas and points (by default to the United States), but it would be the same if you were specifying millimeters or centimeters.

  • Space after...

    I know this is possible because I learned to do a year ago, but I do not remember how

    I have a page of paragraphs, and I understand how to use the space according to designate the amount of space to leave between each paragraph.

    However, in each of my paragraphs, I've indented, of bulleted items.

    Which means, I "returns" within each paragraph, which means 'space after' that happens after every 'back' rather than just at the end of each paragraph.

    What should I do so that I'm in control of this?

    Thank you

    Marion

    There are two kinds of breaks, you can apply at the end of the line, a 'return' or paragraph break, using the key, or a return of 'soft' (forced line break) using SHIFT + ENTER.

    Single BUTTON triggers a new paragraph, as well as any shape or "next style" that goes with it. The forced line break starts a new line, but the paragraph is not finished, so you do not get any format changes.

    I don't know if that really addresses the problem, however. If might be more advisable to have some additional styles that allow you to have a paragraph without a space after, followed by a bulleted paragraph. It is impossible, for example, to set a withdrawal of negative coherent on the portion bulleted paragraph as part of a style, unless it's a separate paragraph. You can use a hyphen to the marker here, but there is no way that I know to stop the dash after that before the end of the paragraph, so you can't text not indented after the element bulleted in the same paragraph, if you do this.

  • Create the Project File Name Prefix makes space after prefix

    I am creating a project template.  I noticed that when I put in the file name prefix it prefixes all my screws with this value MORE space.  I like the prefix but do not want the space.  Does anyone know how to make sure that when it renames all the screws it does not insert space after the preifix?

    See attachment.

    Thanks for any direction on it.

    Add the following in your LabVIEW INI file token:

    NewProjectNoAddedSpaceOnPrefix = TRUE

    This will prevent the dialog box create a project to add the namespace for the prefix.

    Free space - increase the hard disk space

    The following procedure cleans the files associated with your user account. You can also use Disk Cleanup to clean all the files on your computer.

    1. click the button start, in the search box, type disk cleanup, then click Disk Cleanup.
    2. in the drives list, click the drive you want to clean, and then click OK.
    3. on the Disk Cleanup tab, select the types of files to delete.
    Note: To delete all Points except the most recent system restore - click on "Clean up System Files" and you will get another tab called more than Options. Now click More Options, and then click 'Clean up' under ' System Restore and shadow copies "and then confirm the deletion.
    4. click OK at the bottom of the window cleaning disc and in the message that appears, click on delete files.

    Reduce the amount of space allocated to system restore.

    1. start--> panel--> system and safety--> system
    2. then click on the "System Protection" link located at the top left.
    3. in "System Properties" window, click on the "System Protection" tab
    4 locate the 'Settings of Protection' box and select / click on the drive letter (usually c :))
    5. now, click the "Configure" button to change the settings to restore "disk space".
    6. move the cursor to reduce the amount of space system Protection can use (min. 2 GB).
    7. click "Apply" and then the "OK" button after setting the disk space.

    If you have a huge amount of RAM the pagefile and hibernation can occupy a large amount of disk space. 6 GB of RAM can cause 12 GB of space to be resumed by using the default settings of Windows.

    1 put the hibernation - note: you will not be able to sleep extended

    I. enter a new amount. Enter the same number in both boxes. Minimum: 1 GB (or 1024MB).
    I. click on set, then OK.
    J. restart your computer

    Delete Windows.old on your C: drive

    Usually, but not always, after installation of Windows 7 you have a Windows.old folder on your C: drive that contains your files and data from the previous installation of Windows and allows you to go back to a previous version of Windows. Open Windows Explorer and under 'Computer' click the C: drive - if the Windows.old folder is on your hard drive, it will contain all of your files to the Windows system, and it can be removed if you do not need to free up space on your hard drive.

    If she's not here, make sure you can see the Windows.old folder:
    1. click on start, type: hidden
    2. click on 'display the hidden files and folders '.
    3. Click to select "show the hidden files and folders".
    4. click OK and look for the folder
    (Note: when you go back and uncheck the "Show files and folders")

    How can I remove the Windows.old folder?
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/how-do-I-remove-the-Windows-old-folder

    If the Windows.old folder does not remove:
    In Windows Explorer, you should see a folder called Windows.old on your C: drive. That contains all of your files from your previous installation. If you need all the files, you can copy them to another folder and then delete Windows.old. If you do not need anything in the folder, it is safe to delete.

  • Muse white space after the body, but before the page footer

    I just changed with almost a complete rewrite of my site and published it in http://www.lowerphotography.com and all is well except for the HOME page. The change was to take advantage of the new sensitive design which is very neat. Before the change of the HOME page was fine. I watched other observations of white space and made sure everything looked good... not hidden things that I could find. The master page works on all pages of the site. But the HOME page after the body and before the footer has this big white/background space after footer. I don't think it's in the master page as it works for all pages I can say. The homepage has texts and pictures on it and a link to another site. But nothing shows that the cause for me. With all the time I've spent on this site a little "bug" which is just a pain trying to get the HOME page to look really good. Suggestions please?
