Prior to version 11, Player cannot save a completed form unless the document has been enabled for reader. You can do this in Acrobat 10 by selecting: file > save as > Reader Extended PDF > activate additional features

  • Is possible to save a form using Acrobat Reader? How?

    Hi all

    I designed a static pdf form using Livecycle. I want to send to recipients of the form, and I need that they me the pdf form back. I can do this without problems on Adobe Acrobat Pro, but my friends who use Adobe Reader cannot save the completed form. Adobe Reader offers to save a blank copy of the form or print filled. But not what I need. I need to have best x of the form (pdf file) filled by my beneficiaries of x. Y at - it option in Livecycle for to save the form filled out on Acrobat Reader?

    Thanks in advance,

    Decree No. presidential apology for my bad English...

    Hi Enrique.

    So that users with the reader to be able to save your form, it must be "enabled drive" before you send it.

    You have three choices:

    • Drive allow the form with LC Reader Extensions ES2, which is a component of server based on the rest of the company. It is planned for the processing of large volumes of data/forms and an additional cost per form.
    • Player select the form using Acrobat Standard v9 (or Acrobat Pro v7 to v8). It has less than 500 users per form license restrictions.
    • Instead of users with reader to send the return in PDF form. You can configure a button "send as XML. It does not require users to drive to save the form.

    I have a summary of the features that are available/restricted depending on whether the form is activated and how it has been activated on our blog: http://assurehsc.ie/blog/index.php/2010/05/using-livecycle-forms-in-acrobat-and-reader/

    When you open the sample at the end of the post, if you hover over the question marks, you can see screenshots of the activation process.

    Hope that helps,

    Niall

  • I created a form using Acrobat DC and has not seen how constrain text input. For example, I want only the alpha characters in my name field, will not accept dates after 1930, ect. Where is this feature in the drafting of forms to create?

    How to create a text field to create a form to fill out from MS Word, who is obliged by using Acrobat DC form design? For example allow alphabetic characters only in this area. Or allow only the dates after 1920?

    Hi michaelg31489520,

    You can set properties for form field in Acrobat DC also PDF, Adobe Acrobat form field properties.

    If you want to implement all the constraints you can also use JavaScript.

  • How to create forms in Acrobat 9?

    I have a problem. I don't know how to create forms to fillable word document in acrobat 9.5.5. and can't find anything online

    The usual way is to create the word of PDF form, open the PDF in Acrobat and adds the fields of the form: forms > add or edit fields

    and you will be where you can add and configure the fields in the form of form editing mode.

    To add form fields to an existing PDF, select: forms > add or edit fields

    To create a PDF as Acrobat file an existing Word document, you can select: forms > start the form wizard > use an existing file

    You can select PDF, Word, Excel, etc. and Acrobat will attempt to automatically add form fields where he thinks they belong.

    I do not recommend the choice: forms > start the form wizard > create a PDF form from scratch

    Since then, it will start an older version of LiveCycle Designer.

    All this is will work with Acrobat 9 Pro. If you have the level, some things are not available, but you will still be able to enter the form editing mode.

  • Create bookmarks using Acrobat Pro page headers

    My father uses Acrobat Pro for his work. He asked me how to add titles to each page using the text of bookmarks in the PDF document. (He assures me that this feature exists, but don't remember how) I tried out, but can't find it or the other. What I find when adding headings are normal static text / page numbers / dates.

    What I want can be better understood from this image:

    Adobe Heading.PNG

    This isn't a feature of Adobe Acrobat.

  • Dynamic XFA forms and Acrobat Professional

    Hello

    I have the following statement of our software provider and want to check if it is correct: «you can't create/modify dynamic XFA forms with Adobe Acrobat.» Creation of dynamic XFA forms requires Adobe LiveCycle Forms Designer supplied with Acrobat 7, 8, 9 and X Professional; and is not included in Acrobat Professional XI. You can fill out the forms using Acrobat Professional but they are static forms. »

    Is this correct? Between the change in the way that LiveCycle designer has been distributed (provided with Acrobat Pro then separately) and Acrobat Pro vs. Adobe FormsCentral, it is not easy to see what is necessary to do now with Acrobat Pro XI.

    Thank you!

    R.

    Yes, this description is correct. It is also important to understand that there is no connection between the LCD and FormsCentral. Two things are very different.

    CF is a service based on the web for the design of forms, their distribution and then collects the results. Since it is more what remains of him is his desktop application that can be used to create a (simple) PDF forms from scratch. The resulting file is a standard PDF Acrobat format, not a form of LCD.

  • Creating forms

    I have DC of Acrobat Reader.  I am able to create forms that can be filled either on my website or otherwise?  If not, what type of Acrobat do I need to create my own forms to be completed by the beneficiary of the form?  Also must the beneficiary have something other than the basic player?

    Hello

    With Adobe Reader DC, you can only view and print PDF files (with a few other basic as her commenting, filling out forms, etc.). If you want to create PDF forms and wants beneficiaries to fill you need Acrobat Pro DC. Recipients can complete the form using Acrobat Reader DC which is a free application.

    Thank you

  • Problems with saveAs form using Javascript

    I created a form using Acrobat X Pro. I have activated additional features so it will save.

    The form has a "Save form" button with the following code of Actions:

    var FileName = ' / H/docs / "+ this.getField("Last_Name").value +" "+ this.getField("First_Name").value +"2012.pdf Evaluation. "

    this.saveAs ({cPath: FileName, bPromptToOverwrite: true});

    The screen is located in a directory on a server (is not stored locally on the PC). The formula works very well, every time. If I click on save button, it allows to save the form with the new name in the path of the affected server. But if I open it from another PC on the network, nothing happens when I click on the save form"" button. But the reader allows me to record using file-> save as-> PDF on the menu?

    What I am doing wrong? Saves the form one way but not the other? Why Javascript does not work?

    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    I'm surprised that you can get this code works in a button. It is not there because it featured a privileged context, as a function of confidence in a script to the folder level. Here is a tutorial that explains the details: http://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/how-save-pdf-acrobat-javascript

  • Re: Filled form fields not printing - using Acrobat Pro on Windows 10

    I have the same problem, except that there is no system of Mac involved. I've created a registration form to fill live events to a charitable organization for which I work and distributed. I had checked that filled in forms may be saved with their data, but I don't actually print a. Today, I downloaded the form inside and tried to print it. Fixed content of the form prints normally, but the content of the form fields is not printed. I have the print options configured to print 'Document and annotations', as suggested elsewhere. A test, I used Photoshop to open the file. It can be printed (default settings) with the fields filled in displayed as it should show. On my own system I open and print the latest version of Acrobat Professional. I also tried to print from another system, using Acrobat Reader DC - this has also led the white printing. Both systems are running Windows Update 10 anniversary. The original form (empty) can be downloaded from http://ncinvestiture.holysepulchre.net/images/regformnew.pdf. I can send you my completed form if you want to give me the necessary details.

    • Open the document in Acrobat Pro ms
    • use tools > form prepare
    • Double click on a form field
    • change the settings
    • continue with the next field

  • How to allow a user to save a form completed (and now unmodifiable) created in Adobe Acrobat DC?

    How to allow a user to save their form to fill out (that I created in Adobe Acrobat DC) so that the fields are more editable when they return the form by e-mail?

    If you submit a script, ASP.net server (see example below), you can merge and/or "Flatten" the form of PDF with iTextSharp for .NET platforms. You can also flatten the PDF with iText JAVA platform. You can also create Adobe's JavaScript action button validate before submitting it to an email that goes through the fields, making them 'read-only '; but, the ReadOnly property can easily be retroconcu.

    Note: Submission to a script on the server also side bypasses software email client side and send the request using an SMTP account.

    See the #3 example:

  • I created form in adobe acrobat X 1 Professional. Now, I want to put logic on a field. I want that the document will be closed if someone between age under the age of 18. and display a message for minors?

    I created form in adobe acrobat X 1 Professional.

    Now, I want to put logic on a field.

    I want that the document will be closed if someone between age under the age of 18. and display a message for minors?

    The final document is a little drastic... Perhaps simply display an error message? In any case, you can do it like this, as a custom field validation script:

    if (event.value && Number(event.value)<18) {
        app.alert("You must be an adult to fill in this form!");
        this.closeDoc(true);
    }

    Be aware that using this code will close the file without saving it, and the user will lose all unsaved data that they have entered.
