How to create the calculator desktop shortcut.

everything for windows 8 to appear like windows XP

Hi Richard,

You can follow the steps below to create a shortcut on the desktop of your computer.

  1. Navigate to the location of C:\Windows\System32

Note: Here C:\ is the drive on which you installed the operating system.

  1. In the search box present on the upper right corner type calc.exe.
  2. As shown in the picture below, you will get two files (probably) right click on the file with the symbol of the calculator.

  1. Click the send to option, and then click on desktop (create shortcut).
  2. Go to the office, you will see a shortcut on the desktop.

You can also lock the calculator to the taskbar, follow the steps below.

  1. Open the start screen in windows, and then search for "Calculator." Select "Apps ".
  2. Right-click on the "Calculator" search results, and then select the option Pin to Taskbar.

  • Create a desktop shortcut to a drive

I have a floppy that connects to the PC by USB, with a shortcut on the desktop that gave me a quick access to the contents of the disc. A few days when it is started, the icon disappeared, I have no idea why, but I thought I had a way to get it back. I went to "Devices and printers" in the Control Panel, click right on the image of the disk and choose "create shortcut in the drop-down menu that is displayed. The icon appeared and I put it in the space formerly occupied by the missing icon. But when I clicked on the icon, it shows the 'Properties' window and not the files on the floppy drive. I also discovered, when I got to the top of the Windows Explorer, right click on the player 'A' did NOT offer me a way to create the icon I used. Review of 'properties' to the floppy disk icon display, I found that the target of the icon is the display of "Devices and Printers" Control Panel.

    Two questions:

    (1) what does the diskette icon disappear first place?

    (2) how can I get the icon that shows the files on the diskette when I click it?

Thanks for the replies. I have fund the response to the creation of icons for readers with old friend GOOGLE.

It turns out that all I have to do is click on the drive letter in Windows Explorer, look at the little icon in the bar of address and then drag it to the office.

Do a search on "disk management". When you find it, click it,
but the right - drag on the desktop. When you release the mouse button,
    Choose "Create shortcut here."

    Hi Bradley Firt,.

    1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    2. When was the last time it was working fine?
    3. The problem occurs on any item of start menu you click?
    4. You have security software installed on the computer?

    Method 1

Check if the problem persists in safe mode and after return with the result.

    Method 2

If the problem does not persist in safe mode, then it is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    Method 3

I would also say that you scan the computer for malware infections or viruses.

When you're at the page, save it as a favorite. Take the favorite and drag it to the desktop or the taskbar. Shortcut created.

  • Create shortcut folders does not work all the time?

I needed to create multiple folders shortcut for a project that needs them often, and I just couldn't. Still, I remember in the past and one of them actually have on my desktop for my photos.

It appeared that in folder trees if I right click on the folder you want, "create shortcut" Option did not show upward! the same with the folders on my desktop would be! If rich of this conclusion, I copied my "recalcitrant" folder on the desktop (had to cut short the copy because it was great!), but got a copy of it on my desk (with only what he had time can be fully copied!). Then right clicked on it and the shortcut option appeared! I re routed the path to the original on my D drive folder and it works well.
Obviously something does not work as it should and I don't have to do all this, so I hope someone knows the answer to this problem. Maybe a stupid option that must be checked on somewhere...

I don't know if this is your question or not because it should either work, or not at all. The first fix, here is a zip file which will certainly not hurt to try. It's my answer for those who have reported lately that the new folder option did not work in Win7 canned.

Do, or you have installed Chrome? It appears that an update of Chrome, (mid April 2013), is responsible. Here are two patches.

    Hi sluppy54,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are facing the issue while downloading the Coupon printer .com, you receive error message could not create shortcut to uninstall.

    1. in prior to starting the troubleshooting steps, I need the information required.

    2. based on what browser web you download?

3 did you changes to the computer?

Scenario 1: Windows could not create the shortcut. Check if the disk is full.

    Method 1:

Make sure you have enough disk space to record or the cerate shortcuts on the desktop. Right-click on the drive that Windows is installed, and then select properties to check the remaining free disk space.

Try the steps below and check if it helps.

I also suggest that you scan your computer with the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

None of these options work for me.  I am trying to create a desktop for the mail icon.  When I right click on the mail icon, my only choice is "detach from the beginning ' or 'uninstall '.  (Either by the way, I don't like the home screen - messy, confused, not how I work).

    Hi David,

By design, we cannot create shortcut on the desktop for Mail App Mail App isn't a desktop program, it is designed to work in the modern user interface Interface.

For example, you can pin Google Chrome in Start Menu and taskbar. But where you open it open only in desktop mode, because it's a desktop program.

  • Package does not create shortcuts (thinreg)

I'm trying to package the windows administrative tools and create the fine package, but when I sign with Thinreg I can't see the shortcuts in the start menu.  If I navigate to the startmenu folder I can see shortcuts and if I run them it runs the thinapp program.  Is it something simple, I'm missing here that I can create shortcuts on the desktop and they spread out very well but I obviously don't want cluttering up the desktop with all of these shortcuts.

    Thank you

To create a shortcut on the start menu, change the threshold in the package.ini for each EXE for

    Shortcuts = % admintools. %Select% programs

If you want to create several shortcuts for different EXE, you can create them in a folder in the start menu:

    Shortcuts=%AdminTools%;%programs%\FOLDERNAME

Rebuild the ThinApp running the build.bat file, delete no matter what tray existing sandbox and test.

  • Create shortcuts to control in the structure of the event

I create a structure event with radio buttons dialog box.  Is it possible to create shortcuts to select each option button, similar to the underlined letter to windows?  I use a chain with keyfocus = true control to change the radio button selection, but when the user moves elsewhere, focus is lost.  Is it possible to set the focus without control of the chain in the case of delay of vote when the focus is lost?

Because it is universal... to capture the key event seems to be the best choice.  Mostly because I wouldn't give up my function & the tab order.  I also added a second table of char ASCII codes to search and manage shortcuts of capital letters.  Thank you!

  • cannot create shortcuts

I can no longer create a shortcut in the menu programs. When I try right-click on the name of the program, the screen just flashes.

Recently, I uninstalled MS Office 2007 and reinstalled Office 2003. Don't know if this has nothing to di with it, but the problem started right after that.

    Thank you.

    Hi booatticus,

-Were you able to create shortcuts without any problem before?
-Do you receive the menu while you right-click the program?

Method 1: Start in safe mode and check if the same problem persists there too.

Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.

A description of the options to start in Windows XP Mode

Method 2: Create a new user account and verify, is that the same behavior shows here also.
  • Why creates shortcuts for Moving files when drag and drop the folder or file in another folder?

I am using Windows XP SP3, just before I drag and drop the file into another folder in my windows explore. Suddenly, he is creating shortcuts for moving file. I'm not able to move the file by drag / move the mouse, it is possible that by cutting and Paste(Ctrl+X) using the keyboard. Why?

Maybe your 'Alt' key is stuck.
See exchanging the keyboard with another makes all the difference.
