Create the Excel ODBC socket connection

Hello, helpful people!

I installed CF8 without documentation. This caused the problem known to not do an install complete ODBC drivers. In fact, I was doing very well (I could, for some reason, use MySQL driver doesn't have a problem) until I suddenly wanted an Excel driver.

I searched online, found my answer and started to follow the instructions:
http://www.Adobe.com/go/kb402637

Unfortunately, I can't follow instructions #6, "Run instODBC.cfm in a browser using the location you have stored to." each time I run it, I get an error "current user is not authorized to invoke this method" - even when I'm logged on as administrator.

I tried to move the installODBC.cfm file to a few places (including in CFIDE/administrator) does not.

I need to create access to Excel in order to complete my code! Help?

Best wishes
CAT

Cat,

Technical note refers to a Troubleshooting page. The comments by Alexander mention providing the ColdFusion administrator password, when the script creates an instance of the Admin API. Try adding your administrator password to the
installODBC.cfm file. Then, run the script again.

    We had the same problem with > = 20 conferences on the blade, and I can tell you that we had the same thing

    question and the question went after the 4.2 update (1.50) and TMS13.1.2 (if the MCU upgrade)

    And, you got the point in your last message, > = 20 conf == problem,.<20 =="no">

    What I have is that the API MCU always reported only the first 20 conferences.

    TMS has created the new conference (and I also saw a new reserved (e) of the Conference on the MCU)

    but TMS checked once again if that's really where went wrong because he was not listed in the breast of the

    Codian updates may take some time until the blade is up again after the reboot, so be patient :-)

  • in the waking state socket connection problem

    Hi all.
    My app need update real-time security data, it should be able to run well even the switch of the PB in the waking state.
    The problem is that when PB passes to the waking state and more than an hour later, my application cannot send request for data to the socket server (initially he workd well), even when the PB get again enabled, the socket connection is also unnecessary.
    I did a test as follows:
    1, I added the "throttled" in the blackberry - tablet.xml
    2. I have add a few listiner event in the main class, but each of them can be fired in any time.

    QNXSystem.system.addEventListener(qnx.events.QNXSystemEvent.STANDBY,onDeactive);
    QNXSystem.system.addEventListener(qnx.events.QNXSystemEvent.ACTIVE,onActive);
    QNXSystem.system.requestResource(QNXSystemResource.NETWORKING);
    stage.addEventListener(Event.USER_IDLE,userIdle);
    stage.addEventListener(Event.USER_PRESENT,userPresent);
    stage.addEventListener(Event.ACTIVATE,onStageActive);
    stage.addEventListener(Event.DEACTIVATE,onStageDeactive);

    3, I put a clock to save information in / shared folder.it worked well in the waking state.

    Thanks for any response.

    Hello.
    I'm a developer of instant messaging which is connected to the door via socket. What I can tell you for sure I you need to use:
    normal
    That, to use SocketMonitor to ensure that connections are available, some WiFi routers can close idle connection event when U don't want to! If you need to reconnect in such cases.
    Please, feel free to ask for help more.

    It is a way to generate an Excel from an InDesign table by using a combination of jsx, vbs and applescript.

    Complete cleaning action

    Ah shucks!  I can't believe how far from the solution I was looking for.  Documentation has revealed what I had to do it even if it honestly should have probably been better treated with the best comments of the error.

    "Note: when you add an Apache Derby Embedded data source, verify that the specified directory does not exist."

    Which is a bit ridiculous given a fileOpen dialog box is provided which means just the opposite.

    I came across this problem before CF 9 awhile back and I am surprised it is still hidden and I had forgotten about it.

    Hello

    peter_strange thank you very much for your support. Kudo for your.

    I found the solution to my old thread. Please see for the answer http//www.answer

  • I have a problem when you try to receive data using the socket connection.

    Hello

    I created a socket connection between a pc (sever, win32) and a blackberry (client) and I have only two questions:

    -When I send a string to the sever I get the unexpected result, I doubt if it's a problem of encoding between platforms.

    -When I try to receive data, (an array of char as a string object), the customer demand freeze (drawing and management of events, so basically the main UI thread), even if I did all the stuff of connection in a separate thread, until I have shut down the server and also no data is received.

    I left the codes below and would assess any response from you.

    C++, win32 console application:

    SOCKET _Socket;

    int _tmain (int argc, _TCHAR * argv)

    {

    If (start_sever (_socket)) {}

    char r_msg [26];

    recv (_socket, r_msg, 26, 0);

    Send (_socket, szMessage, strlen (S_MSG), 0);

    Thanks for your help.

    You treat on the thread of events.

    You have the following code:

    UiApplication.getUiApplication () .invokeLater (new Runnable() {}

    public void run() {}

    try {

    open_connection();

    .....

    Now invokeLater essentially tells the operating system that the associated executable must be run on the event Thread.  You need start a separate Thread.  Extend this Thread, add your code in the run() method, and then start the Thread with start(). (not run()).  Then you must run the networking of processing on a separate Thread.

    This will cause you problems updating the user interface.  Take a look at this help:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/Java-development/update-a-screen-on-the-main-event-thread/TA-...

    Printing, this means that invokelater a separate Thread is a common misconception.  I recommend you to look at this:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/Java-development/what-is-the-event-thread/Ta-p/446865

    In addition, I recommend that you take a look at the socketDemo which must be included as a sample-, otherwise you can find it on github:

  • With the help of creator of the Recordset object to connect PHP to the ODBC connection

    Alright. I have worked with ASP for a long time and with the tools built into Dreamweaver 8 (and earlier versions), it is easy to connect my ASP pages to an ODBC connection to create sets of records and the execution of orders. But I finally accepted the fact that I need to learn to develop in PHP. I've got PHP running on my computer and I am able to put a code ODBC data source connections but I'm curious to know how to get the Recordset creation wizard and the command Wizard to connect to anything but a mySQL table.

    And for those of you who will say I spent my data in mySQL, it is simply not an option.

    Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

    Dreamweaver built in PHP server model is not designed to connect to any other database that MySQL, though I'm afraid that the answer is to convert to MySQL or hand code all of your database interaction, that is you will not be able to use the Dreamweaver recordsets to connect to MySQL (and therefore will not get data bindings or the other). I did not at least at any time recently, so cannot provide specific advice on that, except maybe to look for PHP ADODB.

    If you use access as long as your database, then perhaps this research can help with a conversion if ever you don't want to go this way:

    That's what I have so far:

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    FB

    You got most of the way. Keep in mind the Excel macro recorder is VERY inefficient if you can complete get rid of select. In addition, the VBE (visual basic editor) turn on Excel the 'window' (Ctrl + G). In this window, you can type something like this:

    ? xlNone

    ? xlEdgeLeft

    to return the numeric value associated with the enum value. In addition, by pressing F2 in the VBE will bring up the object browser that you will find these object and find digital definition (immediate window tends to be faster )

    Try the attached code and let us know if it works.
