Creating a series of thin to thick lines

Ive done this before, but forget the tool it does.  I have a thin line and a thick line.  I want to fill the empty area between the two with several passages ranging from thin to thick.  There is a tool that does this automatically, where and how was it?

According to me, that the tool degraded, it is what you are looking for. The keyboard shortcut is W.

  • Need advice on thin or thick disk

I need to install a few servers with openSuse11.1x64 and Oracle11.1 on vSphere4 and esx4i. Each server has a data store of 1 GB on the shared SAS storage.

The databases will grow up to 1 TB.

I have a big dilemma, what type of disc it is (thin or thick) and which is usually the best practice in this situation?

I notice, for example, if I create a thickness of 1 TB disk, after that one or two snapshoot an error disk is full. If I create a thin disk it does not error, but what about thin disk IO performance?

Thanks to all the good advice.

    Hello

1 Vmware tools on openSUSE are "obsolete." How do I install them?

The 'normal' fact. Select "Update VMware Tools" in the menu VM and OpenSUSE should see the latest VMware Tools CDROM. Maybe then you will need to run the installer of your self... However, if you use open VMware tools is another topic and there anotehr forum for this. The way to tell is to look at your list of openSuse packages and checks if there is a package named open-vm-tools, if yes, then you are using the open version. Let me know if I can redirect to the right position.

    2. If I did only a single VM on the server, the number of vCPU and memory is the best option?

Do you plan on adding several virtual machines?

    3. my datastore has 4 MB block size because I need the 1 TB drive. Is this ok? Can I create with the lower block size 1 TB drive.

N ° to create a 1 to VMDK file, you need the largest block size.

For a VMFS with > 2 TB - 512 bytes of space, you would use "Extensions" to bring together multiple LUNS up to 64 TB - 512 byte MAX. There is an option to consider going forward... However, a single VMDK can only be 2 TB you would then look to add new disks and for strong transactional use DB I would forget in fact on the use of vmdk in all.

In your case, I would use Raw Disk cards out of your storage device... Not VMDK and use several RDM for data/logs/etc.

  • thick line through text page Ubuntu 12,04 14.0.1 FF

    Using Ubuntu 12.04, FireFox 14.0.1
Displaying web pages there is a "thick line" by the text on the page. Unable to take a snapshot, the distortion disappears. This also happens if I reload the page. If I scroll up/down the distortion comes
    Precedent.

I uninstalled FF, rebooted and reinstalled. The problem is still there.

It seems that not every site displays the problem. Also, I've tried chrome and the problem is not
there. to aid of chrome is not the answer for me, I would still rather use Firefox.
I'm hoping to get some suggestions or a fix.

Doesn't it seem related to scrolling? Here are some suggestions to deal with aberrations display:

Could you try turning off some Firefox settings. I don't know if you have need of all these, but no one seems to solve the problem for everyone.

You have to restart Firefox in order for these changes to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

Edit > Preferences > advanced > General > "Navigation" section

    Uncheck the first 3 boxes:

    1. Use AutoScroll
    2. Use smooth scrolling
    3. Use hardware acceleration when available

If you think OK and restart Firefox, the problem is solved?

  • Reference Dell HDS - recommended VMware virtual disk - drives provided - basic and dynamic thin and thick.

Can someone point me to the literature on best practices for guest disc formats?

I know all the Compellent thin-provisions. However, in VMware 5.5, when you set up a virtual disk in the comments you have several choices:

    • Lazy provisioned to zero thickness
    • Eager provisioned to zero thickness
    • Provision of thin

And then, at the level of the OS, you have the choice of:

    • Base
    • Dynamics

I would like a pointer to the technical document explaining the advantages/disadvantages of each choice and recommended best practices.

    Kind regards

    Kath

I would like to either thin or thick lazy to zero.  The two will take the same amount of data on the HDS.  The main decision is where you want to manage your storage space?  If dilute you on thin you need to make sure that you make no provision in both places.  If you have thick lazy to zero, then you can only on commissioning on one side.

Say that I always thin on thin.  Recovery of the space at the level of the virtual computer is not officially supported immediately, but maybe someday.

In a virtualized environment, always keep it simple.  There is no dynamic performance with virtualization

    Hello Karthi.SK44,

Thanks for writing on the Dell Community Forum.

I suggest you to test the display on the external monitor to confirm if the screen is bad on external monitor while the motherboard is faulty.

Then run LCD BIST (built-in self-test) on the system to shut down the system, then press and hold the power button. Then put on the system where, in solid colors will be visible on the system. If the line is visible during the test, then the screen is defective.

If these two tests pass and then make sure that the system ins safe mode with network to eliminate the operating system.

I hope this helps. If there are questions more respond to this message.

  • thin VMDK and datstore thin or thick thick datastore vmdk

    Hello

What is a better option regarding implementing vmdk thin or thick

thin VMDK on the thin data store

thick VMDK on the thick datastore?

    Hey tdubb123,

It is mostly a choice preferably nothing these days as suppliers to support both options.  I know that some vendors recommend same end/end to get the most out of your storage space / KING.  However, whenever you make a thin provision you have another metric you need to monitor or alarms configuration for.  Personally, unless I am attached to the space I use thick on the SAN and thick on VMware.  However if I'm tight on space I'll do a store of data usually SAN thick and thin provision on VMware.  In this way the only place to look for a provisioning is in the Web of the customer/vSphere.  As for the API more get released and plugins are available to attach in the VI client/web Client it will become probably easier to manage.

Keep in mind if dilute you available to a virtual machine, and from this data store is running out of space, the next time that VM requires space he will enter pause / stop state until there is a space available, if its something you'll deffiently want alarms setup for if go you end/thick thick/end, or end/end

    I hope this has helped.

  • I'm trying to create a PDF file with several signature lines in that anyone can "Sign" by using their digital signature CAC (Common Access Card) active. The goal is to have a single document that people can open, sign on a designated line and save the doc

I'm trying to create a PDF file with several signature lines in that anyone can "Sign" by using their digital signature CAC (Common Access Card) active. The goal is to have a single document that people can open, sign on a designated line and save the document (replacing the existing document) and close. Then another person can open the same document digitally sign another area of the form, save it, and close it. So on, and so on. Is there a way to do this? At the end of the day, I would end up with a PDF file with literally hundreds of signatures to enable different ACC everywhere...

I don't understand what the problem is. In the post of the davidr96549424 on May 8, 2015 07:58 you presented a structure of a correct document. Is the issue of the creation of this structure in a PDF file? For this, you will need an Acrobat, not reader.

XI in Acrobat, select Tools-> forms-Edit. Click 'No' on the form fields 'detect '. In the tasks Panel that opens, click on "add new field". Select "Digital Signature" and move it to the location in the document where you want to than the appearance of the signature to be. Repeat that for signature fields as you want. Users will sign by clicking on the prepared unsigned signature field which shows the dialog box "sign. Do not forget that as TSN has noted that a digital signature applies to the entire document. The entry in the document where it is is irrelevant. Each next signature covers all previous signatures.

Your users can also sign a document from anywhere that they want without signature fields already prepared. For this select fill & sign-> work with certificates and the type of signing you want to sign up with. A dialog box that will tell you a rectangle for the appearance of signature rises and after you draw the rectangle of the dialog 'Sign' rises.

PDF/Acrobat doesn't have a limit on a number of signatures in a PDF document. But! Don't forget that when you open a PDF file with Acrobat/Reader signatures valid all of them and takes time (several seconds - until 10 - for every signature), so if you have several signatures of dozens of their validation open can take a long time.

I don't know how build you your workflow so that each person signs the same PDF and saves it. Economy runs on the same computer where the PDF is stored. You'll have to decide how to allow different people to have access to the same PDF. They, of course, you may sign this only one-at-a-time PDF.

Thickness mode is a prealloue disk and thin mode is a stretch drive.

In thick mode, you allways see the same size that provides you with.

In fine mode, offers you a maximum size and drive grow until this size, but no shrink.

If you have a thin disk of 10 GB, you can write to 5 GB and the disk drive to catch, but he maintence will sice that size if you format your virtual disk.

    Concerning

VMTools will decrease the size of the vmdk file...

  • thin horizontal black line down page what scan on HP Officejet Pro 8600 more

I've owned an HP Officejet Pro 8500 and scan was perfect.  I recently bought a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.

When I scan from the ADF HP 8600, I get a thin (several pixel wide) black along the lower edge of the analysis that results.  This line will be sometimes slightly twisted or appear only through half of the page, in which case, it tends to become thicker towards the edge of the page).  According to me, this line is an artifact of the analysis of the edge at the bottom of the original document.  I think it is to show where the bottom edge of the page was when parsing.  If the document is that a little offset, then the black line down will be a little twisted, probably following the edge of the page.  This issue is consistent and reproducible.  It is in the mode "Scan mail" and in mode 'Scan To Network Folder.

When I scan from the flat bed, I get a very narrow black line along the side of the analysis resulting very superior, but the background seems in good condition (although I have not tested this widely).

These fine black lines occurred when scanning the HP 8500.

I wonder if there is a setting to adjust it, or if it is a firmware difference between printers needs debugging.

    Hey KenAlker,

There are a few things I want to check if you have lines when scanning using the 8600. I see that mention you that lines appear both through ADF and flat glass. There may be something both of the glass sections used by this printer, but more often that otherwise, this isn't the case.

I would check if the printer is connected to a surge protector. If this is the case, then try plugging the 8600 in a direct outlet. Often the surge protector can cause this problem appears because the printer has a built.

    Also, try a hard reset:
    * Unplug the unit while the
Disconnect the other end of the wall socket direct
    * Wait 30-60 seconds
    * Plug the unit to the top

Also, try to take a look at the steps in the document found here.

    I hope this helps.
