Using the apex_admin interface, go to home > Manage Workspaces > manage developers and users > create / edit user

Create a new user and select internal as the name of worskpace.

  • Can't connect to apex as administrator after apparent successful installation

    I am unable to connect to the apex as administrator after apparent successful installation.

    I have a database of existing Oracle 11.2.0.1.0 with text Oracle running on Windows 7 Professional with several hundreds of gigabytes of free disk space available. I did everything as a user operating system with administrator privileges. I have downloaded the latest version of apex 4.0.2 for all languages, decompressed the downloaded zip file, extract all the files in a directory of the apex. I changed the working directory to the apex and started sql *, sys connected sysdba, ran apexins.sql installation and configuration of apexconf.sql, apex_epg_config.sql, apexchpwd.sql to change the password admin and apxldimg.sql to copy the images and exec dbms_xdb.sethttpport (8080), unblocked accounts and connect granted privileges.

    The Setup log did not show any errors including:

    "Thank you for the installation of Oracle Application Express.

    Oracle Application Express is installed in the APEX_040000 schema.

    The structure of the link to the Application Express administration services is the following:

    When I use a browser, Internet Explorer 8.0 or Firefox 3.6.12 and navigate to http://localhost: 8080/apex/apex_admin I get a screen that says:

    "Enter the credentials of the internal administration Express Application"

    and boxes for a user name and password. When I go to admin the $admin_password I selected, and then click connection, nothing happens. I don't get connected. I don't get an error message. It doesn't show signs of what anyone running. He's right there. I don't receive any message from Windows or Norton 360 indicating that a pop-up window has been blocked or something. I checked that the services are running and also tried to turn off the computer and turn it back on (cold start), but still couldn't connect.

    I'm a former developer, not a s/n, so if there is anything else that I should do or check or provide, then please let me know. I have provided a copy and pasting of everything I could think of below. Oddly enough I don't see an admin user.

    There is no need to uninstall anything.
    From just install the zip file now in c:\temp and run the script to editing image with path c:\temp.

    You should be fine. When you get this working, you can connect to XDB for example by using the FTP client and remove folders of possible backup that image editing script did.
    But those who do no harm and you can leave those.

    First to get Apex working by updating the images once again with script.

    This update of the image do not affect the purpose of database of the schema APEX_040000 so you don't have to uninstall anything.

    If the updated image once no help yet. What you have set for the fourth parameter of installation script Apex?
    You must set/i /. In the installation of Apex "Utilities" folder files is reset_image_prefix.sql script to reset the image path.

  • Locking a Coldfusion instance administration page

    I've been looking around and can't find the answer anywhere.  I have a web site running on an instance of coldfusion, which became a problem because you can join the admin (www.domain.com/cfide/administrator/index.cfm) page that is causing a security problem.

    Of course, we changed the default passwords for all accounts by default but will hide this page from viewers outside.  Since it is the way in the administrator of this forum how to lock this down?

    1. use the security provided by your web server (Apache or IIS) to restrict access to the admin of the site.

    2 remove the pages from the admin of your production web server.

  • Creation of dynamic instance name

    Well... another question.

    I have the following code:

    var page1:Branch = new Branch();

    Page1.y = 124;

    addChild (page 1);

    I want to have the 'page1' value is dynamic, as well as the "branch".  Given that a number of models (up to 20), branch is one of the models.  So it would be nice to use a creator of the instance.  In addition, I'm not sure how to get "page1" as a dynamic value.

    Is the closest to what I could find:

    star1sp. AddChild (this ["Star" + star1Num]);

    except that it does not fully what I want to do.  I have tried to add in a bunch of 'this [load_page]' and 'this ['page' + curpage]' in my code but had no success.  I am always on the lookout for the answer but wanted to put that out there.  It's something I've tried to figure out for a while.

    I have a "FilterApplications" process which consists of a series of automatic activities. I have deployed the process in Enterprise Server. Now, I imported the PAPI WS in SOAP UI, when I'm trying to create instances through the processCreateInstance method (PAPI WS), I get the following error:-

    the engine where it is deployed is not running or the user doesn't have permission to access to the process.
    Same I created the required participant to connect to PAPI WS using SOAP UI.

    But if the process contains any role, the (processCreateInstance) method above is able to create the instance for the process by using PAPI WS in SOAP UI.

    Can anyone suggest what is the problem here?

    Yes - this is the designed behavior.

    The idea is that your logic of PAPI-WS is not able to create an instance, unless the user for authentication used in your logic has been assigned to a role in the process. This also prevents you to retrieve a list of instances of a filter unless your user id is assigned at least one role in the process.

    First of all what you have installed 'Runtime Environment' for Oracle APEX 5.0 and 'Runtime Environment' has no GUI as in "Development Environment". 'Runtime environment' has GUI access only for applications deployed in it.

    We receive the ORA-24247: network access denied by the ACL access (ACL) error, and after following the instructions in the APEX Administrator's Guide, we are still unable to send e-mails. The above message continues to display.

    In our environment, we have our application on the 1 server and our database on another server. Is there a configuration of email different to when the application and the database are on different servers?

    Sorry for apparently asking obvious questions, but I can not assume anything.

    (1) is your SMTP Server / SMTP relay really on your database server where the APEX is installed?

    (2) it listens on port 25?

    (3) you seem to have APEX 4.1 installed previously. Have you had this same problem with APEX 4.1?

    (4) your e-mail settings for instance in APEX Instance Administration level also specify localhost on port 25?

    Universal theme apex 5 comes with really nice menus. I would like to have the top menu even as that used in the Administration interface of the Apex.

    Including the tabs of colors, bar menu next to the Logo, better quality bread crumbs, etc. of keyboard shortcuts.

    Also, I saw in the sample application Websheets, bread have a kind of Drop Down Menu showing the subgroups for faster browsing.

    Why is Oracle not delivered it as a model?

    APEX 5 includes support for navigation from the top menu bar. When you create a new application by using the universal theme of the default is navigation, but it is easy to change to the navigation bar.

    Here's how to get to the navigation bar:

    In the homepage application builder for your application, click on modify Application Properties. Click on Edit icon on the Desktop tab User Interface. In the navigation section change Position top of page and list of Navigation Menu template above. Apply the changes, and then rerun your app.

    Universal theme also has models list for context menus and menu bars. Just go to the navigation bar will not give you menus that look exactly like those in internal applications to the APEX (Builder, administration frontend etc.). This is because the page templates and the css are slightly different. You should be able to create your own page templates and the css to mimic the APEX apps internal menu look and feel. Also note that as the administration and help menus right aren't a bar menu but the menu icon buttons.

    The breadcrumbs in web sheets using the same implementation of menu. The difference comes down to a few special css. APEX 5 has a lot of mileage out of the new widget menu.

For example, if I have an entity called "VerificationItems", can I write a rule in the OPA, which will be an instance of this entity by element of verification that the applicant must produce (as a single instance for proof of address, a single instance for SSN etc.).

    Hi Sam,
    I believe that the creation of the instance through rules is coming in 10.4, otherwise you will need to use a listener of inference to generate instances.
    However if the list of things that the applicant must produce is finite and knowable, then it could probably be done only through rules without having to generate instances. You could have them as rules in terms of the applicant, such as "the applicant must provide proof of address", "the applicant must provide a SSN.
    If the person has more than one address, then the rule of the 'evidence' should perhaps for each address, for example.

    We have implemented a system like this to do with the 'actions' in Sweden that work similarly to your suggestion, and it worked fine without the need to create these instances. I don't know the size of your modules but certainly create instances will have an impact on performance, so I recommend you to avoid if you can.

  • Apex connection to another instance of Oracle

    Is it possible to connect another oracle instance where I have a Data Warehouse and I want to make a small apex apex application using tables of this instance. I can't install an apex in this case for internal reasons of companies.

    I thought to do a dblink and create views in my apex instance but I would like to know if anyone knows a better way.

    Yes absolutely, you can use DBLinks to query/update / etc directly the data in the remote instance. You can also "hide" the DBLink by creating local views which reference the link as you describe.

    Another option is to create materialized views local (that reference the DBLink), the advantage of this is that the data is stored locally (rather than using the view or the method direct dblink), so performance should be better. The materialized view can be refreshed periodically according to your needs (if you still need access to the data so newer than this method may not be suitable for you).

    Right. The image prefix is defined for the APEX installed in the database instance.

    When installing APEX instance you install with "/ appdb/i /" prefix, I guess, therefore your APEX page shows the markup like for example:

    rather under normal Setup if you have a correct image prefix Viz "/ i /" when installing the APEX, then this path would be:

    Therefore, the proposal to run the reset_image_prefix.sql to reset the image prefix ' / i /.
