Crop tool upward & missing?

I'm completely stumped. I use PS for more than a decade - I'm working on an urgent job -? my crop tool is suddenly gone. I don't even know wehre to look for. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

You mean the slice tool? SHIFT key when you type c on the keyboard will alternate between the tools of this launcher.

The crop tool should be behind the crop Perspective tool described below.  However, with the latest update, you can change the toolbar. Click on the three dots at the bottom of the toolbar, and choose Edit.  If you drag the crop tool above the crop to the Perspective tool, normal crop tool will be the default and be the first response to the C shortcut.  You can use SHIFT C to switch between agricultural tools.

So, where's the crop tool?  Nowhere to be seen.  And you still have a tutorial that says to use the crop tool, but if the obsolete tutorials, then why you always the same tutorial?

Yes.  It's exactly what I told you in the _identical_ of _other_ thread that you started with this question.  It's just one of the reasons why it isn't a good idea to start multiple threads.  I locked this thread, but one of the other moderators of the forum has been deleted.

  • Missing in Photoshop CS4 crop tool

I'm fairly new to photoshop, but it seems to me be the crop tool in the toolbar. I've updated to the latest version and have had a couple of people check it out, and no one can understand what/why/where it is absent. None of the forums I've been on can explain this phenomenon either. Anyone know how I can recover the crop tool?

Press SHIFT and c together several times. Yet no crop tool?

  • Background layer unlocks and becomes the normal "no flat" layer after using the crop tool in PS CC 2015.1 (a different behavior for older versions of PS)

    Hi all

I found that it is more difficult to explain than I thought

I don't like the new behavior in the latest version of Photoshop (CC 2015.1) regarding the way in which the background layers automatically unlock and convert to regular layers after using the crop tool. It's completely different to how things worked in previous versions, where a background layer remained in locked state flattened after using the crop tool.

I get a LOT of images and this change has added an extra step to each image that I harvest, because I flatten the layers after cropping before saving the image. I looked through the preferences but cannot find a way to change this new behavior. Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance for your help

See if checking Delete the cropped Pixels in the tool options makes a difference.

  • Crop tool - problem!

Hi, I use Photoshop CS5.1 on two computers; on the laptop, it works fine, but about 6 weeks ago I started having problems with the cropping tool on my work computer (all other functions seem to work).

When I mark an area and then click Enter he removes the entire image instead of register the domain I scored. Everything else seems to work very well. Have I missed an update or changed without knowing a setting?

Or it's just a strange bug? I'm not too keen on the reinstallation of the program, because that would mean having to reinstall InDesign etc. too, and I really need this program now. Any ideas?

    Cheers, Peter

    Hi Peter,.

    Greetings!

I would say to reset the tool and see if that makes the difference.

To reset a tool, you must first have the selected tool. Then Ctrl-click (Windows users: right click) the button tool preset in the Tool Options bar.

When you click this button, you will see a small menu and you can select Tool Reset to reset the current tool to its default value or reset all tools to deliver all the tools to its default value. Once selected, the tool will act as the first time you have used it.

Using this simple method to reset your tool with a single click, you can quickly remedy any situation where the tool does not correctly and to maintain the flow of creativity going.

  • Problem with the CS6 crop tool

I unchecked the "Delete cropped pixels' box, but when I crop the pixels seem to disappear forever. Reduced the size of the file, and when I re - open and click on the crop tool, the original pixels are not visible. This happens with the psd and JPEG files files. Can someone help me find the missing pixels? It seemed such a good vs CS5 feature, but not when I can't make it work!

Assuming that you did not have the [] delete the cropped Pixels option checked, simply run the crop tool and make it the largest culture.

Also you can make Image - reveal all.
