cross dimensional operators on calc dynamic members

The dimensions of my product and market are stored dimensions used in a calc script in AccountX calculation as follows:

"AccountX" = "AccountB"->"product"-> "market"->"organization";

I would like to change the dimensions of products and market to dynamic calc, but wonder if it would affect involuntary the calculation above, I would like to remain the same.

In other words, can I use Crusaders dimensional operators on calc dynamic members without any problems?

In principle you can cross-Sun dynamic members Calc, but this can have an impact on the performance of recovery especially if product / market are (and I assume they are) sparse dimensions.

You must carefully test performance / calc order impact etc. in any case if you do what you suggest, which is much larger than any impact on this script formula especially calco - but I guess you know who.

    Yes, it is a good approach and works very well. However, as John suggested, you can enable security on the stored member and get what it read-only. This could be a better approach.

  • Dynamic members of calc & store are not copied on another escenary

    Hello:
    I have a dimension (Business Unit), where several members of level 1 are "dynamic calc & store.
    If I copy a 'draft budget' staging data for another staged 'budget', sometimes some values in members of this "dynamic calc & store" are not copied (they show #missing in 'budget'). All the data of level 0 is just. Also, level 1 in Member data is stored. Most strange is that some calc dynamic level 1 & store members are also copied.

    -Is anyone knows why is this happenning?
    -Is it possible to avoid this?
    -What happens if I change the ths dyn calc & store stored members? It will change the data?

  • Question parliamentary formula - a member formula can be crossed dimensional

    How you would write something like this

    "XXXXXX" = account of range 40000 to 48999 and BU XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

    Yes, the formula of Member can be three-dimensional cross.
    You can use the calculation functions and cross dimensional operator that you use in the Calc script.

    I currently have the formulas of these members in Essbase in my 4 planning, Essbase 7.1.3 environment. I thought to go to 11.1.1.3 should I put formulas in planning - but no luck! Information/suggestions greatly appreciated.

    Put them in the planning as much as possible, only put them via EAS as a last resort.

  • Cross dimensional security

    Hello

    Any changes to cross dimensional 11.1.2.4 security?

    Customer wants to create a form for Admins to say which account through with entity can have a read or write access on top of security groups.

    Is it still possible?

    Tried to test something using filters, but then it should be to Essbase and planning (database) level. Am I wrong?

    Thank you

    Rafael

    There is no change yet in 11.1.2.4 to address cross-dimensional safety, when valid intersections do on site, then you will be able to limit data entry in forms of certain combinations of Member.

    There is no point really trying to do with filters Essbase if you access through a connection of planning, for now you can't work with the configuration options that are available in the planning.

  • Local variables with cross dimensional operator

    Hello

    I have a business rule that has the following calculation:

    VAR TOTPROD;
    TOTPROD = "Prod1" + "Prod2" + "Prod3."

    "MBR1" = "MBR2"->"Jan"-> TOTPROD / "MBR2"-> "YearTotal"->"TotalProducts";

    The statement above does not work for obvious reasons, that TOTPROD is not a member name.
    Is it possible to use a local variable in a cross dimensional operator statement?
    I want to use the local variable in order to avoid another hierarchy.

    I use Essbase / DGPS 11.1.2.2

    Help, please.
    Thank you.

    Hello

    As you say, I don't think that the approach you have will work.

    What is to be

    a. creating dummy product member in your plan and put your result on it (or use an existing Member of "dummy" product)

    b. re - write your code to handle you want to... do something like (assuming you add Prod1, 2 and 3):

    'MBR1' = ("MBR2"-> "Jan"-> "Prod1" + "MBR2"-> "Jan"-> "Prod2" + "MBR2"-> "Jan"-> "Prod3") / 'MBR2'-> 'YearTotal"->"TotalProducts ";

    Not sure if I'm missing something here, but or one of these suggestions do not help?

  • Calc dynamic vs calc and store dynamic members upon request of the scorecard.

    Hello

    I understand the dynamic use of calc and dynamic calc and store, but I have my doubts about the use in applications of scorecards. Usually, these applications have a predefined queries, so all the users navigation guided by the cubes. So in this case, what do you use dynamic calc and store?

    I think that the first executions using domain controllers may be slower that uses dynamic calc, but generations retrieves DCS should be faster because the members were calculated.

    What do you think about this?

    Thanks for your help.

    Please, excuse my English.

    You're right, that philosophically, it comes down to whether or not you will re - use data a lot.

    If not, then it only adds problems to use DCS vs DC (problem #1: written additional block and further fragmentation = overall less optimized).

    However, if you do the kind of analysis where the chances to dig deeper are higher than the chances of digging at all, then DCS is logical. Let me explain: you can not ever recover this data, but that you do, it's for a reason that will inspire more investigation.

    Can you think of a case where this is? I can, as you said - dashboard and dashboard applications. If they are looking, it is likely, because there is a problem and they will look a lot deeper. In this case, the price paid once is better than time and time again.

    That said: most scorecard applications tend to focus on several metrics specific and limited initially, which usually means that demand is nimble enough, if you don't really win by going with DC/DC members. If your application is slow, it can help, but it will not be the quick fix (at least compared to other responses).

    Bottom line: Yes, DCS has its place, and sluggish forward-looking cubes are a place that you might want more than others.

  • Dynamic members time series (In a BSO Application) can be used in other formulas of Member, rules of business or Calc Scripts?

    I am building an application of OSI to refer to values for a YEAR in several calculations. Before you enable the DTS, I wanted to make sure that they can be referenced in the formulas (used in IF conditions to check the values against a value of Member A-T-D)

    Dynamics of time series can be used only to display values DTS EN reports or in smart view retrieves. You cannot use them in the form of Member or Calc. I think the best way would be to add a version with a formula that adds every month until this month for CDA or a different scenario.

  • List of dynamic members according to the level

    Hello

    Is there a way to create a list of dynamic member in HFM based on the account in the account hierarchy (I'm working on HFM v. 11.1.2.0)? I'm changing the order in which the accounts appear on our studio EN reports, where the total are displayed at the bottom of each detailed section (see example below).

    Other species
    Outstanding cheques
    (tab) Cash
    Money-markets
    Other EQ of cash.
    (tab) Cash equivalents
    (double tab) Total cash and cash equivalents

    The HFM in the order account hierarchy unlike the presentation above, simply adding members based on a flag UD translates a list in reverse order of how I want to see the report. I don't use automatic calculation in EN Studio is because I don't have only one line of data that takes in a list of member set that is based on a field UD (all members above could be labelled with UD). I couldn't realize the calculations under hierarchical with autom

    So, I wanted to make the reversal of the hierarchy in the creation of my lists of members. I thought that if I follow somehow the level of each member number, I could use to overthrow the hierarchy and possibly use it to conditionally format fields as well.

    I'd like suggestions on how to get this working or other alternatives that I can try.

    Thank you!

    Here's a possible solution I came up with my question. The following code creates a list of members that will add accounts in the correct order with parents appear at the bottom of each hierarchy. The code below is for the whole of the balance of the accounts, but it can be used on any other hierarchies as well.

    Void AccountUD2_BalSht()

    HS = ACC. Account.List ("BALANCE_SHEET", "[Descendants]")

    Set arguments array1 = CreateObject ('System.Collections.ArrayList')
    Define array2 = CreateObject ('System.Collections.ArrayList')

    ' Assignment of list in a table

    For each a1 within ACC
    HS = UD2Var. Account.UD2 (a1)
    If UD2Var = "TB_Acct".
    Array1.Add a1
    End if
    Next
    y = Array1.Count - 1

    "All members who are declared trial balance lines in the list of members in the correct order of entry
    Do
    TargetAcct = Array1 (i)
    For j = i to o
    If (i) Array1 = Array1 (j) Then

    On the other
    If HS. Account.IsDescendant (TargetAcct, Array1 (j)) then
    TargetAcct = Array1 (j)
    POS = j
    End if
    End if
    Next

    Array2.Add TargetAcct
    Array1.Remove (TargetAcct) "delete the account that has been added to the new list from the original list
    y = y - 1
    Loop While (y > 0)

    For each a1 of array2
    HS. AddMembertoList a1
    Next
    HS. AddMembertoList "BALANCE_SHEET".

    End Sub

    Once the list of members was in place, I used EN studio conditionally format the lines I need back. I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to code it better.

  • Change of Variables Sub does not immediately on Calc dynamic effect

    Hello

    We recently had some strange behavior on the Essbase 11.1.1 server.

    There was a member dynamic calc that depend on an environment variable (current month), when users change the variable for the next month it not to take the most recent value and gives not value for the next month, instead IT displayed last month does.
    Users have checked on the planning and financial reports.

    But when the Essbase database is stop and started what he done. He recovered properly the new value.

    Is this a bug or an expected behavior?

    Thank you!

    It is expected that the behavior stated below in the SER60.

    To ensure that a new value of variable substitution is available in formulas, definitions of partition and security filters, stop and restart the application. All other uses of > substitution variables are resolved dynamically when it is used.

    You can see the section in parameter substitution variables in the link below.

  • Cross dimensional security in planning

    Got a scenario where the client asking to cross the security dimension in the planning and do not know if it is possible

    Simple example

    Suppose 2 dimensions. Account and entity

    Entity has 2 members E1234 and E1235
    Has 2 members Axxx1 and Axxx2
    The user is user1

    User must have the following access (guess that's all the ReadWrite)

    Axxx2 but only for E1234 (so don't ReadWrite for Axxx1 in E1234)
    Axxx1 but only for E1235 (so don't ReadWrite for Axxx2 in E1235)

    Based on the SecFile.txt

    I could write

    User1, a member of Axxx2, ReadWrite,
    User1, a member of Axxx1, ReadWrite,
    User1, Member E1234, ReadWrite,
    User1, E1235, ReadWrite Member,

    But I now gave him access to everything...

    I'm afraid that the answer is that you can't do. I know that you could do in Essbase itself, but do not find something for planning.

    My problem is actually much more complicated than that, but if I could understand this simple example, I think I can do everything I need.

  • FDM Cross dimensional Scripting problem

    Hello

    The script below does not work. I try to get just the 812 and 813 to map to 10145. I usually never use so many variables, so don't know why it is not mapping correctly. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you
    JF

    StrAccount = Ucase (VarValues (14))
    StrLid = Ucase (VarValues (25))
    StrCC = Ucase (VarValues (23))
    Select the option breaks StrAccount
    Case '9999", '7455', '6464', '7665', '6466.
    Select the option breaks StrLid
    Case "HELLO."
    If StrCC = '812 ', ' 813' then
    Result = "10145.
    Case Else
    Result = "10144.
    End if
    Select end
    Select end

    You still have Case Else taken sandwiched between the If and End If. You can't do that. You must remove the End If, remove the Case Else, or make the Case Else an Else if it aligns within the If statement - it all depends on what result = "10144" is supposed to be paired with. It is too difficult to say without consistent formatting.

    To post your code on the forum with preserved spaces, include the code word in braces {} at the beginning and at the end of your code segment. You can also paste the code into any empty event script in Workbench and click the play button to see if the code "compile". The editor will return most syntax errors. Just make sure that you do not save the script wrong.

  • Copy of data for the dynamic member of Calc

    Hi all
    I am writing to use the copy of data of Dyn Calc member-to-member stores command, but it does not work. Whereas if I change the Dyn Calc member to store only it works well. Is is possible to copy the calc Dyn Member? Or is there any workaround solution to copy the Member dynamic calc.

    Rahul-

    Datacopy command doesnot work on calc dynamic members.
    To remedy this, you can set regardless of the calculation in members dynamic calc to the stored Member
    as if the formula in dynamic calc line z = x + y
    You can write a script to calculate the stored member s = x + y
    Thus the same data online dynamic calc are calculated in the stored member.
