  I never really worked on the length of path correct max, I just kept shorten until it seemed to work.

  The path "long" ran like this:

  P:\Departments\QA Department\Jonas Conversion Project\doc_projects\Jonas\content\Banquet & Catering\really_long_filename.fm Documentation

  I think the longest 'short' trail is now - P:\Departments\QA Department\doc_projects\content\Banquet & Catering\really_long_filename.fm

  I did it by copying the original files and sticking them in their new locations because I was afraid to disrupt all my internal FM xrefs. Which perhaps not necessary. Because there is another author that accesses files FM, I had to keep it on a network location. If I was a totally solo author, I'd keep the premises in a really short project path.

  It is not the length of the reference itself that is the question (even if it's maybe - I just never knew it), this is the full path to the file is xref refers to. Why? Adobe engineers don't know us mere mortals!

• How to export a PDF file to make nonprinting objects show but don't print not AND hyperlinks on the top of the page work at the same time?

  Firstly - I work in InDesign CC 2015.

  My problem is, I had this 10 page document, which, on every page, shows an object that must be in PDF format - but do not print. I made this object into a button and unchecked "Printable". On top of this object, I made 10 hyperlinks (separate layer) that point to the page 1-10.

  When you export the document and I use the interactive PDF format , works ' show nonprinting object but do not print ' well, BUT hyperlinks don't. If I uncheck the "layer of nonprinting objects" in the file PDF, then hyperlinks work, but the problem now is that the nonprinting objects are invisible...

  When you export the document and I use a PDF to print the "unprintable object show but do not print" does not work BUT the hyperlinks don't...

  I put hyperlinks to post a link to pages and also tried the link to the anchor text. No difference.

  So my question is: How to export a PDF file to make nonprinting objects show but don't print not AND hyperlinks on the top of the page work at the same time?

  I run FrameMaker unstructured 12 and FrameMaker 11 (for use with only the heritage project files) on a Win7 PC. The chapters in my FM11 file book for guide increment a new product user normally in FM11, but something bad, after you save the formatted FM 12 FM 11 project files.
  The book file includes:
  -Product Guide Cover.fm
  -Product GuideTOC.fm
  -Product GuideLOF.fm (list of Figures)
  -Product GuideLOT.fm (list of Tables)
  -Product GuideContent.fm (chapters 1-10) - book files dialing properties: Chapter 1 (digital)
  -Product GuideIX.fm (Index) (Chapter 11) - book files dialing properties: Chapter 2 (digital)
  
  Note: The chapter headings (e.g. 1 - Introduction, 2 - Specifications and so on) in the product GuideContent.fm and GuideIX.fm files are in the format paragraph Designer like: (the Auto-Numbering Format enabled) H: < n + > \t
  However, when I update the book, the Index seems formatted as Chapter 1 instead of Chapter 11. It seems that the conversion to FM 12 messed autodial in the product file GuideIX.fm, so that the only way to increment the value would be to manually update the building blocks in the file to H: IX.fm \t H: < n + > < n = 11 > \t (which I do not). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  Hi Ran,

  It's for anyone finding the subject, given that you and I come to chat with a screen sharing...

  After watching your files, the "chapter number" are really only section numbers, with all 10 of them in the same file FM. That means that really impossible to use the <$chapnum>for many of them and the index.

  In most cases, you would be still able to use the Fm 5.0 manually counting technique paragraphs title with an indicator of the series and the counter (e.g. H:), but you also have a number of positions within blocks of text not included in the stream.

  This seems to be your address update index position correctly.

  So, the only way to get the appropriate index number is to control it manually. You have at least 3 choices:

  1. Enter it manually
  2. Manually enter the AutoNumber box for the index
  3. Enter it manually in the numbering section of the dialing properties tab.

  However, all these things are extra bandages on top of your existing bandages, and I prefer to see the problems resolved instead of the 3 'Hacks' I have provided.

  For the sake of closure, please check the question if this seems to be specific for you.

  I have disabled filtering as I know how including virus protection. I don't get the security bar asking if I want to download. I can't find a way to 'activate' Flash because do not have hyperlinks to the Adobe site. The problem of hyperlink in unique to Adobe.

  Just that. Hyperlinks, colored text usually in a message which, when clicked, make a link to another site, are ineffective. They do not work, i. e. they connect to another site. The link you copied doesn't have connecdt me with anything. It did not work. Not to worry however. I found that there are other things to the South in my computer. Other links do not work or my computer wakes from sleep as it should.

  Consider this case closed. Apparently, I have a big problem.

  I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice.

  I have several html pages that contain many hyperlinks throughout the page

  On each page there is a button print javascript (ie. onclick = "returnfalse... window.print ();")

  Whenever a user selects the option in the print dialog box to print the page in Adobe PDF, the output (pdf) does not keep hyperlinks.

  Is it possible, service or product that will allow external users to print to PDF and preserve hyperlinks work?

  No, unless you convert the page yourself, upload to the server and make it available for download. There no way for the buttons in the HTML to control the Acrobat plugin, nor to say even if it is installed.

• Error messages for cross validation rules does not properly

  We have implemented two rules of cross validation for our table GL accounts flexfield combinations.  We had implemented the first rule, and it was working properly and displays the error message associated with the rule.  When we added a second rule with a different error message, the application correctly applied the rule, however, now when a new combination of COA violates the first rule, the error message that is displayed is the second rule we created.  How can we get the error messages to be displayed for the correct error?

  Yes, if you say that when the 3 segment is actually "OPEX", then it seems to me that the Include and Exclude are simply reversed for what you describe as the needs of the company. When you make a rule, the simplest way to define this term is usually with a universal Include statement (that is to say, we want that all combinations of account), then from there to make a statement that says Yes all except these (the exclude statement).

  Aware in Opex Department will exercise a universal declaration currently, which means that all of these accounts are not allowed (again, except if 7-9 segments have something else of zeros, while they may be permitted).

  If your site back how intervals are defined between the Include and Exclude in the Department and Opex, once registered, you can see if this gives now what you are looking for. If segment 3 is supposed to have a range rather than the value "OPEX", then the exclusion may need further tweaking and we can discuss that further if you wish. With the way in which it will be set to this change, it will not allow a segment 2 to 00000 if the Segment 3 is "OPEX" during a new combination.

  Sorry, nothing that you can do other than to temporarily cut off the WiFi when the wireless device changes the location and then go back on so this device can then pick up the strongest signal from the nearest airport.

When I'm in the product key and it entered into it sayed it was invalid, I thought they could have messed up or something so I took it back and got a new. I went to install the new the same thing happened. What's wrong? Why can't I install the game?

  This problem may occur for one or more of the following reasons:

  ·        The product key is not entered correctly.

  ·        The number of CD - set, the disc assembly number or the part number was entered instead of the product key.

  ·        The product for a product key has been entered for a different product.

• The font used for the symbols associated cross ref markers?

  Recently, we got new laptops and improved FM13 from FM 11. I noticed 1 or 6 which are where I expect to see cross reference source markers. Given that I couldn't remove them manually, but they would disappear if I disabled the option of text symbols, I guess that these numbers are displayed instead of the expected symbols because miss me a font.

  No one knows what the police use Adobe form his cross reference markers?

  Barry,

  I had the same problem. I don't know how I started this change because I had not made any changes to my system for awhile. After some extensive research, I found that these fonts are stored in the fm5font.ttf font file.

  To solve my problem, I navigated to the directory C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\AdobeFrameMaker11\fminit scrolled down until I found the fm5font.ttf file. I have a right click and don't 'Install' option.

  Once installed, I opened FrameMaker and everything was back to normal.

  Updated to v2015.0.2 and it seems that the standard cross fader no longer works.  I will place it here but has no effect on the actual video.  I was able to use other transitions, and they seem to work.

  You cannot transition between cuts of the same clip. You need 'handles' for transitions to work:
