  CS2 product activation has been abandoned, but you can use your old serial number as a serial number eligible for CS4.

  You are entitled to replacements for CS2, but do not use the upgraded replacement for CS4 serial numbers, I don't think they will work.

  The CS/CS2 activation servers have been removed. Download CS2 and use the new number given to the right of the download link.

• CS4 Question of color fill

  Trying to paint for use on a new layer fill color, I get the message that I can't perform this action without rasterize the layer first. When I hit Cancel, it tells me "could not use the can of paint because the content of the layer is not directly editable. The problem is that I don't want pixelation. Specifically, what I want to do is create new color fill layer (say red), allows you to complete with black to create a mask by the Red transparent until with a white brush color over the paint. And, conversely, when using a black brush, red is "erased" and goes back to transparent.

  I did it in CS2 and CS3 without falling on an error. I hope it's just missing me something basic and new in CS4.

  On the fill color layer, there are two icons: one for the padding on the left and one for the mask on the right. Click on the mask. When the mask is active, it has double lines on the corners like this:

  There is no more activation for CS or CS2. The activation for versions server was closed by Adobe a few years ago.

  I can't answer for first, but if you have, you can use your file avi, and flash flv export file.

  Still includes templates for use with your file menu flash and different sizes of flash export dimensions

  If I understand his instructions, I am to export the CS4 document in INX CS3 document, and then open that INX doc with a text editing program and edit the text as shown above.  After exporting to INX, I opened in Word and looked for ' <? aid' and it is nowhere in the many pages of text.

  Word is not a text editor, it is processing. Open it in Notepad.

• Move from CS2 to CS4 ME?

  A few years ago, I wrote a couple of scripts (in JavaScript) who worked with InDesign CS2 ME. Now the company wants to be upgraded because the scripts will run only on computers with CS2 me, and they become a bottleneck. I'm trying to figure out which version I need to upgrade to.

  It could be a problem with your font caches.  Fetch fontnuke and try to remove all your SYSTEM and application font caches.

  I tried a few searches, but I'm probably not enough light to design the research properly.  I have a slew of neat in PhotoShop CS2 brushes which had a lot of success and Miss attempts to create it.  I mean the brushes that are displayed in the drop-down below and not the predefined.

  Sorry, missed the part "etc"... same thing can be done for all things custom... swatches, actions etc. get these flying context menus in all pallets and in some dialog boxes. use ' Save as ' in cs2 and 'load' in cs4. most of your stuff should come right fine.

  Hello, I'm new here.

  I just Photoshop CS4 (Standard Suite Design) the week last after having used elements (2, then 3) for the past five years.

  In the elements, when using the crop tool, you can move the entire picture by clicking the center point and move it.

  It seems that in CS4, when I try to move the frame, only the center point moves without moving frame lines.  I looked through the manual in PDF format, but could not find an explanation how to change that.

• Bridge CS4 question

  I know this isn't a photoshop question, but I saw a forum just for the bridge.  I have Bridge CS4 on OS x and want to be able to drag a picture on my desk without moving the bridge.  So basically he made a copy of the file when I drag on the desktop.  I know that I can do a right click on the image and go to "copy to", but I was wondering if there is a way to simply drag without moving.  Thanks in advance!

• CS4 Question of Styles

  While working on a backdrop using Fireworks CS4 on Vista (32 bit), I came across an interesting question.
  
  Application of styles to a regular rectangle works very well, and selecting a new style updates the form. Rectangles, rounded, however, have problems. When initially created, it seems to have the last style used. However, new styles not totally update the form. Some seem to have no effect, others may change the race but that's all.
  
  Fireworks CS3 does not have this problem, it seems to be something new introduced in CS4. Any thoughts?

  Styles applied to groups, symbols, AutoShapes works as follows:

  1. When you apply a style to a group / an AutoShape, the path attributes are NOT applied to all subitems & that the effect is applied to the entire group.

  2. where a Style is the result of a group / an auto shape, only the effects will be defined in the created style. Background and outline options are disabled by default and therefore they will not be collected in style. When the background and outline options are checked they will be picked up in the created style.

  3. when a style is redefined from a group / an auto shape, only the effects are redefined. All the path attributes are ignored.

  Rounded rectangle is an AutoShape. An alternative would be to use the "Marquee" tool and change its roundness that can now be defined in pixels or as a percentage of the values.

• CS4 question - you do not have the necessary access privilege

  I am running a MacPro on OS X 10.6.8. After a recent problem with the system, I had to uninstall and reinstall all software, repair permissions etc. All other programs are now very well. But CS4. I uninstalled CS4 and reinstalled twice (once via the original DVD, once via a link sent to me my someone in Adbobe). I enter my serial number, as requested, and everything seems to run nicely until I get an error message saying:

  An unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred because you do not have the necessary access privilege. Photoshop will now exit "."

  I have problems to import images.  It is encoded with the video codec MPEG-1/2 (xdv4).  I am running CS4 on Windows 7.  Image was taken with a camera JVC GY-HM700.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• Mac AE CS4 question

  OK, I have in all the years I have owned never used CS After Effects product but decided it was time to give it a go.  Now that I want to use it, I realize that it is not yet installed on my computer.  I checked the original installation disc and it not even shows up as an option for me.  Is there a version of CS4 that you don't have AE in or something?

  What is "CS"? AE is included in the Master Collection and Production Premium, but not in the suites of Web and Design, then maybe you don't have one of these?
