  CS3 is a good version of Photoshop before Adobe added support for GPU.  I don't remember the conditions required for CS3, they would be not much different then CS6, with the exception of the GPU. What processor is has your old mac?  CS3 may require a processor intel nor and IBM power PC. I'm a windows user. I thing here period CS3 Mac were all OSX and Intel processors.

• I can not install the entire suite of programs in CS3 Mac

  I have a desktop Mac G5 with OSX 10.5.8 and I can not install all the components of Creative Suite CS3. I tried to install the suite several times, once uninstalled and reinstalled and I get the same results: the installation disc will install Adobe Acrobat Pro 8, Adobe Bridge CS3, Adobe Device Central CS3, Adobe Extension Manager, Adobe Flash CS3, CS3 Video Encoder and Adobe Stock Photos CS3, and that's all.

  It will not install, Adobe Illustrator CS3, Adobe Photoshop CS3, Adobe Indesign CS3, Version Cue Server and common components, which is what the dialog box installation program tells me at the end of the installation.

  Does anyone have an idea what's wrong?

  I ended up installing CS3 on an external drive which has the same start system installed as my internal drive without any previous installations of CS2. After installation, the activation of the software dialog box asked me to insert the serial number CS2, which I did and it worked perfectly. I just start the computer by using the external drive when I want to use CS3.

  the serial number of your mac does not work with a pc version.  You can use the pc version as a trial of 30 days, but that expires you will no longer be able to use the pc version.

  Adobe does not allow swaps of the platform, but not with older software, product order | Platform, language swap

  at this point, your best options are to continue to use cs3 on mac or upgrade to cc (which allows mac and windows).

  your first words I had done the first way that you describe, but I think I'll do the second way. My

  Since 1994, I have used a Mac, and making the PC switch a feel like a traitor. Had a strange

  dream about it last night and my Mac friends say I'll pay for it. I need a much more powerful new

  computer for business I get now and just can't afford the price of the top of the Mac line.

  It is purely a decision of business/money. Sometimes I use my wife's PC and it drives me crazy, but I think

  I'll be able to work with the 8 installation of the new window.

  I'm working on a few models of cards picture for a friend. I have CS3 running on a Mac. It has 6 elements on a PC. Is there a way I can save as / export my PSD files so she can open them (layers intact)? Thank you.

  As far as I know that PS Elements 6 can open any PSD file with layers intact.

• Book paging InDesign CS3 - Mac versus PC

  I have a book containing about 15 documents in InDesign CS3. I work on a Mac OS X and a PC with XP home. The PC did a great job of page - it has each of the chapters of the book pallate, both in the document. I use 'start page numbering on page x' to the first document in each of the two sections and "continue the previous document number" for each of the other documents. The problem is that when I go to the Macintosh, the numbering is not more automatic a document to a document, and each document in the pallate book now lists the pages in the document (1-28 if there are 28 pages, even if the numbers start at 73) and I need to "go to the x number" for each document to make it work. Then when I go back to the PC, it's messed up here. I'm on a schedule very tight - I would appreciate help with this. Thank you.

• CS3 Mac: Text white becomes black when the file is reopened

  System: PowerBook G4, Illustrator CS3.0.2 and OS 10.4.11
  I have attached a sample (only 85ko) in this position, and there is a to http://homepage.Mac.com/tlmurray/filechute/WTTB_sample.AI . The sample has two layers. The background is black and locked; the top layer contains the text. This sequence illustrates the problem:
  1. Launch Illustrator and make sure that the Panel of colors and character Styles Panel are open, and you are in preview mode.
  2. Open the example file. It appears as a black rectangle.
  3. Select the text by area or by i-Beam, is not serious. The text covers the rectangle, so you can target anywhere.
  4. Note the character Style Panel. You will see that the Normal Character Style entry does not have a sign, Illustrator, says the text matches the style +.
  5. Redefine the Normal Character Style by double-clicking it, choose the color of characters and click the shade of white.
  6. The text becomes white.  Good so far.
  7. Save and close the file.
  8. Reopen the file. On my system, the text changes to black.

  Another similar sequence is to transform the white text by clicking on the white background in the color Panel or swatches, the accomplishment of a "Redefine character Style" in the list of options panels.

  Anyone see this? Y at - it a trick I'm missing?

  The problem isn't your Style of character!

  The problem is that your white is not a color.

  To see this, when you open your character styles and choose your "hue" white, is dimmed, since you can only color tint.

  To resolve this issue, double-click your white swatch so that it opens the box of color options. under the colour / spot color box check the option of 'Global' .

  Now, close the box options and go to you style of character and select white, you will notice color is now available.

  Close and save, problem solved

  He will explain why white resets, since illustrator does not recognize it as a color and the default values in black. However, every time you do one other color it is resolved and what makes the only consistent problem with the shade of white.

  Tested and worked for me.  Hope it solves for you.

• Program error Photoshop CS4/CS3 - Mac OS 10.5.7 problem possible?

  Last week I updated my OS 10.5.7 (I'm on a PPC not Intel). When I try to use the text tool in Photoshop CS4 I get an error "Could not complete your request because of a program error."

  -L'App not crushed, but I stop by Force whenever this happens because the continally error box reappears.

  -This is also happening with Photoshop CS3.

  -CS2 does NOT appear to have this problem.

  -I went through everything from the AdobeSupportAdvisor app for a total uninstall/reinstall of CS4 and still have the same problem.

  Everyone knows about this problem?

  I have been using Dreamweaver on my PC for years. A CS3 for a long time. I just bought a Mac and bought CS3 for that. First thing I did was to manage Sites and set up for my server. But even though I can see the files on the server in the files Panel, there is no list drop-down local display and to be implemented in the management of Sites, it has not ask where to save local files. (ok, so it's a Mac and which could have its own place and ask me not...) but without an arrow Put or Get (as I'm used to on the PC) I can't even HERE of files to this machine.
  
  I can use a client like Filezilla to do, but what happened to a place to store local files, a display of the local file and the arrows in the Panel to Put and Get files. Are the Mac and PC THAT different versions?

  as a guess _ wild, you did and 'RDS' site instead of a normal site.

  go to manage Sites.
  Click the new button. Don't forget to choose the SITE instead of RDS
  Finish filling the information.

  A 'site' will be a local site folder.
  A site "RDS" will not, it's editing of the files 'live' on the remote server.

• Fireworks CS3 Mac for Windows

  I was told that I should switch to CS6 in order to obtain a Windows.  However, the problem is that I don't often use it to justify the upgrade to say several times per year.

  I'm trying to uninstall CS3 applications to migrate them to a new machine (need to work with legacy files), but the installation/uninstallation gives software immediately error: "error starting: required lack resources.  I get the same error with the original installation discs and the installer downloaded CS3 productdownload.

• CS3 Mac: no codec uncompressed 10-bit available

  We have a room full of machines here with the CS3 Suite on them, as well as installed blackmagic codecs and Final Cut Studio. Blackmagic codecs are available to us, but Apple uncompressed 10 bit 4:2:2 is not for us to make with After effects. It's a huge problem, because our customers are asking for this codec (not blackmagic and aja, specifically), than the specification of delivery. We have other problems with this codec in the suite of tools as well to Apple, but that's a separate debate for the Apple forums. It was crazy we for weeks!

  Any ideas?

  Try to move the codecs, Blackmagic library/Quicktime to name of user/library/Quicktime, reboot the system and check if the Apple uncompressed codecs appear.
