  CS4 product serial numbers were specific platform, you can use the serial number for a single platform. If you have a serial number of the MAC version, then you can not install on windows and CS4 is not supported more, everything is on cloud now, Adobe does not provide physical support or the serial numbers for all legacy applications.

  The question isn't installation... it's activation. Disable the software first. (Help > deactivate from any application).

  Back up all your data, preferences, etc. because, as you note, it will be a clean install of Windows. Know that it is only cool method to upgrade a Windows installation. NEVER don't upgrade a Windows in place (or, IMO, Mac OSX).

  None of these issues are causing the error in DW CS6. We double-checked all of them and we did everything right. Also I have exactly the same SiteSetup in DW CS4 and that works perfectly well. Might need to factor 6 which did not exist in the 4? Something that is not in the SiteSetup but in a hidden dialog box?

  I can also download my host using Fetch, a third party FTP. And like I said that DW CS4 works very well. So the problem is not with my host, sound with DW CS6 in particular.

  You are most likely missing something fairly simple (some goofy box cache you in some menus random). The best way to solve this problem, without playing 20 questions...

  1 open the site in DWCS4 and go to Site > Manage Sites > export to create a your site settings .ste file.

  2. close DWCS4 and open DWCS6

  3. go to the Site > Manage Sites > Import to import the .ste file to create a new site at DWCS6

  This will create an exact copy of your CS4 settings in CS6. If it still does not work, let know us and someone should have another idea for you.

  I am having a frustrating problem. When I Live Trace a hand drawn map, I made in CS4, it comes out perfectly, convert the lines that I drew for vector perfectly, when you use the default settings. However, in CS6 settings by default does not capture half of the lines and changing the way they look.   You can not. It is a completely different engine using the trace feature in both versions.

  Unfortunately, this applies also to the models that you provide. The new tracing feature produces particularly bad results with black and white raster (bitmaps) resp. Gray rasters containing edges smoothed (too much contrast).

  In case you have that kind of raster image, you must resample it in a way that gives you some more anti-aliasing.

  I recently stumbled on this after a reinstallation of my system. I have Pro CS4 first (with the latest updates, tried without updates as well) and the 64 bit version of Windows 7 (completely up to date).

  Here's the deal:

  After I created a new project, I leave everything intact, select only 1080 resolution NTSC (or PAL). I have imported video clips (has each audio and video clip), I want to work with. This import is fast and not mistakes... but when I really want to work with clips (for example: double click to start at the edge he or dragging to the timeline) what is happening:

  Audio play perfectly... but the video is like 1 images / 60 seconds or more. While the audio is just fine video plays really slow almost like a support of still images. And so, the length of a video on the timeline is correct the audio, but I get not even 4-5 frames of fotage video before the end of the clip. To sum up: video and audio is really out of step, but in a weird twisted way. Audio OK, increased or reduced speed is detectable, but the video (same btw) is not like that. He shows me some pictures before the time of the end of the clip.

  I have a problem that is basically just an extension of a problem reported by others previously... i. e how get a .flv parallel to a page in Dreamweaver to display properly when the page is then tested locally on the computer. What I see when I test the file embedded in the latest version of Firefox or IE8 is simply a display of the icons of the skin and not the film. However, the movie plays fine in a FLV player and in any browser in Windows XP. I conclude that something in Windows 7 has affected the reading of an flv file, which is added to a page in Dreamweaver CS4.

  
  Previous notice has included things like "Download page on your web site and it should be good", or instead of the "& amp" appearing in your code change to '&' etc, BUT based on my tests, none of this should in fact be necessary, and it suggests that the page must test on my W7 machine if it's great under XP. My goal is to try to determine why this is not the case in Windows 7, and what can be changed, so it will display/run on my computer. As Windows 7 is in beta for a year and is out now for 6 months, I expect other people have encountered the same problem, but a search on the forum didn't turn information.   I've included the simple code for the page, but as I said above this code works fine in XP. DWCS4 in W7 generates the same code as in XP.

  Actually, it is not the code that is generated, it is a part of your new security settings on your computer. When you try to test the page in your browser, it should inform you with a pop-up of a certain type that indicates that you must change your global settings manager in order to get an overview. Click on the link in this and it will open a Web page on Adobe that allows you to edit your global settings to the right form on this page. Once you update to 'allow', restart your browser and test again the page, and it should work...

  It has something to do with running a script on your computer - if you do not get the pop up, I mentioned, try this link:
