  Applications Adobe will not transfer properly, they must be installed using installation files.  You can download files via the link below.  You must uninstall all you can of what you currently have installed, and then use the CS cleaner tool.  After that you can reinstall.

  You do not need to uninstall CS5.5 and CS6 installation does not automatically uninstall CS5.5. You can have both versions on your Mac. I have CS3, CS5.5 and CS6 installed on my Mac.

  If you want to uninstall CS5.5, double-click one of the aliases "Uninstall" in a CS5.5 application folder and you can uninstall all of the Creative Suite.

  You can install and activate up to 2 Macs for your own use. That would leave you with a spare part if something were to happen with your old Mac.

  However if you are going to get rid of, see help > deactivate, then also check the option to remove the serial number power the computer off.

  Then go to your folder CS6 use the Uninstall.app to properly remove Photoshop. Do not drag the folder to the trash.

  You can install fresh on your new Mac from your drive, turn and look for the updates.

  As a note: do not move or copy your old installation of Photoshop to a new Mac.
