Help to install the correct Player Camera Raw for CS6 10.6.8 Mac to allow Sony ARW images

Devices supported by Adobe Camera Raw

The A6000 was first supported in Camera Raw 8.4 (and later versions).

CS6 on OS X 10.6.8 is only compatible with Camera Raw to version 8.3.

Adobe Camera Raw help. Adobe Camera Raw 8.4 or later on Mac OS 10.6, Windows XP and Vista

Unfortunately, according to the link above, the DNG Converter free 8.4 also requires OS X 10.7 or higher.

Options:

  1. Your computer, or the operating system upgrade
  2. Use the Sony software that came with your camera to open the Raw files and save them as TIFF. Then change in CS6.
