• Lighting effects filter very dark

  When I choose the lighting effects filter, it is still very dark. Depending on the variation, I chose the image appears either extremely low or completely black. See the screen two screenshots below. Can anyone help with suggestions on what could be wrong?

  

  

  Make sure that your graphics driver and config as well as your color management settings. Perhaps you use CM based on the material and it runs amok.

  Effects of light only supports RGB 8 bit per channel images.

  Take a look at your documents where it does not work...

• Issue of the lighting effect

  I recently installed PS CC and I work with some images I would like to apply lighting effects. In particular, I am applying the effect of light spot. I see all the appropriate controls and can manipulate individual characteristics. However, the effect of the light seems to apply to the entire image (that is, not well centered the contour of the task). The effect is like a mixture of layer full versus a targeted effect.

  I confirmed that "use graphics processor" is selected and that the image is RGB 8 bits. On 64 bit Win7 (Dell Core i7 w / 8GB RAM and a fast HDD).

  Anyone have any ideas here?

• Filter in PS (CS6; 64-bit) lighting effects blocks program

  This is an OS Win7 64 bit, new CS6 installation with all updates applied/installed.

  Use of the lighting effects filter render in PhotoShop (CS6, both 64-bit and 32-bit) causes the PS crashing.

  It's filter - rendered - light, Curt.

  Because of the lighting effects is now accelerated by GPU, your display driver is probably involved in this problem.  Apparently, Photoshop is not able to get the GPU operation to operate the filter.  (I don't know if it uses OpenCL)

  In all cases, refer to the web site of the manufacturer of your video card and download and install the latest display driver for your hardware and operating system.  This is generally useful.

  I can't find the filter of light effects on my on my old CS2 CS6 it was under filter > render > effects, light has he spent elsewhere in CS6?

  Under windows xp, the lighting effects filter is disabled (not shown) because it relies on some features of open gl, windows xp does not support.

  I try to use an action and I get the message: command the effects lighting is not currently available.  I use Photoshop CS5 on a PC.  Does anyone have suggestions on what this could mean?

  In fact, the 64-bit windows cs5 version should have filter > make > lighting effects.

  Have you looked under filter > make > the effects of light to see if the filter is there?

  Perhaps the action itself is at fault or the documents color mode and/or bit depth does not support the lighting effects filter.

  The effects of light feature depends on your GPU and your display driver, which apparently are not up to the task.

  Check with Toshiba to see if they have released an updated display driver that solves the problem.  Updates to display driver fix many problems.

  Laptops generally require display drivers integrated by their manufacturers, so unfortunately you can't normally be nVidia.com, ATI.com or Intel.com for these drivers.  There is a downside to trying to use Photoshop on a laptop.

  Photoshop lighting effect filter does not work. A new layer called just the effects of light appears, why?

  Under help > system info, copy and paste the first two lines identifying the exact version of your OS and Photoshop.

  In Photoshop, the command is the menu Filter > render > lighting effects

  Don't use "Last filter" or it runs the command without bring to the top of the dialog box.
