  It seems that the file has been corrupted somehow.

  Would suggest you to run Photoshop as administrator and then try to open that specific file.

  If this does not help, you can download this file somewhere and share the download link so that we can try to open it on our end.

  Several years ago, I got the adobe photoshop 6 trial version on my desktop computer. I LOVED it, even if I never got to buy it.   Adobe's Web site lists only the latest version.

  The latest version of Photoshop is CS6 (aka Photoshop 13.0).

  For elements, the current version is 10.

  And it seems that you use elements, not Photoshop.

  Sounds as linked to the associated file, when you mouse right click on the image in windows Explorer and select open with, it's the new version of photoshop appear?

  All the old brushes are compatible with versions of Photoshop.

  My guess is that you have a corrupted file downloaded, or have the wrong position on the file.

  Yes, all files created in Photoshop CS5 will be easily accessible with all layers in higher versions of Photoshop.

  What you need to do is to get him to sign with the cloud on your computer, uninstall and clean all Adobe, then login with your account

  CS - CS6, there no possible upgrade options. The latest version that allows Adobe you are upgrading is CS3 (which also, until December 2012). Adobe supports generally running less 2 versions of upgrade support.

  In your case, you should buy a full version - yes I know it's expensive and it says you need only once a month, I don't know what advice here.

  Regarding CS runs not on 10.6.8 you get a specific error codes / numbers / crash reports? If so, can you please post here so we can see what can go wrong?

  Although I doubt that CS works on OS 10.4 or 10.5 + (I've never used), I can't say that it will never work more. The only way to know is to see a crash report to see what goes wrong.

  Then I lost the phone. I have a police report if you do not want to see it.

  Thank you!  Yes, unfortunately, this is an old version of Photoshop released may 2015.  Fuse support has been added in October 2015, so you will need to upgrade to a newer version, before access to the fuse current character type.
