    Hello...

  • I have an Acer Aspire 5517 laptop and need to know how do I know if I need to update my BIOS.

My Acer Aspire 5517 laptop is Windows 7 X 64 with an AMD Athlon TF - 20 processor at 1.6 Ghz with 2 GB of physical memory. Each from time to time and these days leave frequently, my screen goes black and it does not start... I have attached an external monitor to him, without success, so I guess this isn't the video portion. So he can start I turn market until it re-boots. Sometimes it restarts quickly and at other times, it takes several minutes... up to 20 or 30 times. I ran a disk check to see if all sectors are on the hard drive. It removes very well... I thought that if the BIOS is outdated, I would update on it, to see if this helped... Any suggestions, much appreciated...

  • Acer aspire 4330 laptop doesn't detect USB HUB under Vista

Windows vista sp2.  Acer aspire 4330 laptop with intel celeron 575 2.0GHZ 667FSB.  USB hub has power source

computer will recognize the hard drive or any device on plugin directly from the computer.  I tried unplugging hub and all the rest, stop, turn on and plug in Usb hub with hard drive.  No luck.  off universal host adapters - disaster - froze up was to restore.  Entered the management of feeding and unchecked "turn off hub, if it is in use to save energy" all these tips on the internet, but none worked.  real people need to microsoft, the anonymous general Internet.  asked if faulty usb hub, have a new "brand" on command.  will help isolate prob.  Please notify.

Create a system restore point and try to disable and re-enable the USB host controllers. I suspect that the USB drive itself is at fault because of the external power supply. I would not exclude the possibility of a hardware failure of the USB. I would check with the manufacturer.

    Hey Joe,

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

I understand from the description of the issue that you are having problems with the keyboard on Acer Aspire 5736Z. I'll be happy to help you with this problem.

    (1) what exactly happens when you try to use the keyboard?
    (2) you receive an error message?
    (3) have tried to check with external keyboard?

    Method 1:
Step 1: I suggest to start the computer using safe mode and check if the problem persists.
    What is safe mode?
If the issue is not persistent, then follow the steps in step 2 to find the cause of the same.

    Step 2: Clean Boot Mode
I suggest to maintain the computer in clean boot mode and check if the problem still persists. A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.
You can read the following article to configure the computer to boot:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: After the troubleshooting steps, see step 3 of the boot link to configure the computer to normal startup mode.

Method 2: I suggest you to follow the steps to check with on the screen keyboard.
Type without using the keyboard (on-screen keyboard)

Method 3: It seems you accidentally locked your keyboard and touch pad by pressing the function key.
    (a) just press: FN + F6 to unlock the keyboard and the touchpad.

If the problem persists, I suggest you to contact Acer support for assistance.

I hope it helps. If you have problems in the future, please let us know. We will be happy to help you.

If the screen is not an Acer Aspire Logo appears when you try to turn on your laptop, remains empty, something is wrong with the hardware.

If at all, nothing appears on the screen and no lights work contact Acer or a repair shop, local. :

  • We want to wipe everything to an acer aspire 5630 laptop, how can we do

My laptop is soaked, I have to wipe all the programs and I need help on how to do it.

    Hello

    This should help you.

"How do I restore my computer using the eRecovery Management program outside of Windows?

    http://Acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/A_ID/2631

    To start the system recovery:

    1. Restart the computer.
    2. When the Acer logo appears on the screen, press the left Alt and F10 keys.
    3. If you are prompted with a Microsoft Windows splash screen, press the Enter key.
    4. After that the Acer eRecovery Management application is loaded, select your type of restore.
    5. Read the review and then click Next when you are ready.
    6. Click Next to start the restore process. It may take 10 minutes up to an hour fom anywhere to restore.

If you have problems with the recovery Partition, you may buy Acer recovery disks.

    http://us-store.Acer.com/RCD/

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.
