Cursor moves, when I type

Cursor moves, when I type

Hello

Here's a ccouple common causes of this problem.

(1) you have a TouchPad (on a laptop) and brush your thumb against it. Response > disable it (often a button) and get a mouse.

(2) your mouse driver is broken and making interference from other programs. Response > download and install the latest driver for your mouse.

(3) the surface you have you mouse over is the reflection and the mouse is not able to function properly > try a new surface under your mouse. Try a better functioning of colors, matte or rough surface and darker.

(4) you have a wireless mouse and the battery is about to go out.

(5) that you have installed a new program or device recently that interferes. Response > try #2 above or uninstall the program, or make sure that the device you have installed has the latest drivers.

I hope this helps

    Hi deepak,

This is almost always caused by accidentally touching the touchpad on a laptop (I guess that's what we deal here).  It happened to me and I found it quite boring (and it took me a while to diagnose).  Test by typing in a very uncomfortable position with hands almost vertically above the keyboard and absolutely and definitely by far come the touchpad.  If the problem goes away, this is the cause, and there are several possible solutions.

First go to start / Control Panel / mouse and see if there are any parameters to set the sensitivity of the touchpad.  If so, set it so that it requires a much more difficult to work - key then maybe your key light that you type will not cause the cursor to move.

Go to your computer manufacturer's website and update your touchpad driver (you must also update the firmware or software) to those most recent appropriate for your operating system provided on the website (even if it seems that it is the same thing) for your laptop model and your computer.  If there is an update for the keyboard as well, install for just to rule out it as a cause.

Once done, go to start / Control Panel / mouse and check the settings. There may be one to set the sensitivity of the touchpad, so it takes more strength to activate and this can help - which is also good he'll get without turning off completely (and then you need a mouse). In my case, a Dell, I could not pay enough and ended up finding a laser wireless mouse and turned off the touchpad to solve the problem. I don't plan on using the mouse at all (and in fact, find it more convenient, because I never liked the touchpad in the first place).

If this does not work, you have a mouse, you can use instead of the touchpad (and the option to disable the touchpad when using the mouse) to test if that solves the problem?  If so, then the problem is almost certainly the touchpad and the procedures above are pretty good your options.  If this does not work, then you have a keyboard, you can plug in and use instead of the keyboard of the laptop?  If so, try and see if it makes a difference.  If so, you will need to be replaced the laptop keyboard or use the separate keyboard.

If none of the works above, try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem.   Follow the procedures described in the article.  Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall.  Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.

Start in safe mode with network and see if the problem is here.  A result allows us to narrow down the search for the cause.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • In Windows 7, why cursor moves when you type, causing need to return the position of the cursor?

After inserting the cursor to start typing, the cursor moves frequently on his own.  This translates into the need to reposition the cursor and enter again before continuing to type.  I can't believe such a lack of basis occurs in the new product, but I can't work out how to remedy.

I also noticed that other measures be taken before I even clicked or pressed enter, taking me where I want to be far away.  I own a computer using XP Professional and have never experienced this problem.  Only since I use my friends laptop installed with Windows 7 I just through that.

I'm not sure I want to upgrade to Windows 7 if it is so cumbersome to work with.

Everyone has noticed this and how is it fixed?

    Thanks much, Jeanette

    Hello Jessen P

Have you looked at drivers as you suggest.  As a result, it became obvious that my friend had not installed the mouse trackball with the software provided with the mouse.  It has been installed.  Cursor action now seems stable.  Thank you very much for pointing me in the right direction.

    Kind regards

  • the cursor moves when you type on another line without any command to do so. Line never even

When type any message in outlook or word or excel the cursor will move to another line anywhere in the message, never the same thing apparently not and of course you add letters to words, a line or it will even go to the signature block.  In this case no order for the cursor to move

This usually happens on laptops by a sleeve or an arm moving above the small box that replaces a conventional mouse.  Most of these devices can have their reduced sensitivity, or you can search the ' net for one of the many utilities that turn them all in being key off the coast.

    Hi simon,.

I found the solution for it, I change the cursor by using code in the following onFocus and onUnFocus methods:

    setCursorPosition (getText () .length ())

    Invalidate();

Return super.onFocus (branch); For the onfocus method

    Return super.onUnFocus (); Method onunfocus

    Hello

Put the computer to boot and see if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

Note: follow step 4 to reset the computer to start as usual after the boot process.

    Hope this information helps.

  • Cursor lagging when you type in Gmail.

When I type in Gmail the cursor seems stuck and have to wait for it to 'catch up '. Someone suggested that my memory is over-clocked; How do I slow it down?

    Hi WritingBoy,

Please let us know what browser you use when the problem occurs.

If you use Internet Explorer, have you tried to boot without any addons?  See the following article:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/tips-for-solving-problems-with-Internet-Explorer

In addition, you can try to start your computer in Mode safe mode with networking to see if the problem persists.  Be aware, though, that your antivirus software will not work at this time here:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

Finally, if you encounter this problem only in GMail, I would post your question on the forums of GMail as well:

To "restart" the computer means turn off and turn back on. Surely you
don't want that. You probably want to reinstall Windows. No, you
    probably don't need to do.

or y at - it a simpler way or even another way to solve this problem?

It's a laptop? If Yes, most likely you are accidentally brushing
your hand against the touchpad that you type.

  • My cursor jumps when I type quickly - usually within WORD or PUPILLARY and mess up my paper. Help

As I'm typing, the cursor moves and changes where I tap on another line. It's SO frustrating! I am a student online and do not have time for it. I'm not accidentally pressed the button either. Help, please.  This was not the case when the computer is new, but after DELL came to my house and method to make adjustments to the computer, it happened. Makes me crazy!

Take a look in Control Panel > mouse and see if you can adjust the sensitivity of the touchpad glide. Another way to check is to use an external keyboard and see if it happens again.

    I hope this helps.

  • Windows 7 laptop. I have problems with my cursor. When I type, it jumps and anywhere else except where I type moves.

    Hello:

I am pleased to say that I have really only one problem left to solve.  I have a Dell Inspiron N5010 with Windows 7.  I started having this problem immediately about two or three weeks after the purchase of this computer.  I have problems with my cursor.  A Laptop store owner who corrects laptops told me ' you type you're probably hit a key that throws the slider out where you type and be aware of this.  I really don't think that.

Is that the problem is that whenever I type just arbitrarily the cursor jump to other sections of my screen where I previously typed something.  It's very frustrating.  Can you really fix that because a tech support person told me that "which cannot really be fixed with someone to take control of your computer, or there is a problem with the keyboard".  That's what he says.  "It could be a problem with the keyboard" and he concluded that it might have to be taken in a store or (sent to DELL (and I say no, no, no (Amy Whinehouse)).)  A lot of smiles.

But in any case this problem can be corrected as any other problem?  I hate it when this cursor jumps around on the screen to the typed sections previously.  It does not have it on my desk.

    Please let me know.

    Hello

    1. the problem occurs with any particular application or all applications?
    2. don't you make changes to the computer before the show?

    Method 1
The issue may be due to some third-party program conflicts. I suggest you perform the clean boot and check if the problem persists.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: Follow step 7 clean boot KB929135 article to reset the computer in normal mode.

    Method 2
I suggest that you try to reduce the sensitivity of the touchpad and check if that helps.

    a. turn on your computer and log in to Windows as usual. Open the "Start" menu and click on the "Control Panel" option.

    b. double-click the icon named "Mouse"... The "Mouse properties" window opens. Go to the tab "device settings". Click on the button "settings". A window titled "Properties" appears.

    c. examine the left panel of the 'Properties' window and expand the option "sensitivity." Click on the option "Sensitivity to touch."

    d. reduce tactile sensitivity in moving the slider to the right, to the label of "heavy touch. Experiment with different levels of sensitivity until find you one suited to your needs.

    e. click the 'OK' button to close the "Properties" window Repeat the operation with the control panel "mouse". Your new touchpad sensitivity settings are now saved.

    Method 3
I suggest you to update the drivers for the touchpad on the manufacturers Web site.

  • Cursor freezes when you type

I just got an ASUS G75VW, which comes with Synaptics Touchpad V7.4. Sometimes when you use the touchpad, the cursor does not move, I completely stop or raise my finger to get again the movement of the cursor. It occurs most notably when I play games that require movements of the mouse while using W, A, S, D to move. What can I do to possibly resolve this problem? Edit: Under the mouse-> device settings properties there no palm checking option to adjust.

    Thank you

    Hello

As far as I can see, f12 (or hold down the Fn key, and press f12) should disable wireless connectivity - if it's not, try to perform the procedure without doing this, but don't forget to use Microsoft tool (last link in my first answer) to block the driver update again.

    This happened to me once.

You have a laptop?  Your laptop has a touchpad?
I have found that on some portable computers when I type, my wrist / hand comes in contact with the touch pad and move the cursor around everywhere.  Some laptops have a switch for the touch pad just for this reason.
