  If you go in there, it says that it is installed, but not running.

  I am a long time and administrator Blackberry user and have never run into something like this on a Blackberry.

  Thank you... I went through the other forum that you sent the link and follow the instructions it works for me now very well.

  I created the For_6.0.0 folder and deleted the files of For_5.0.0

  Started v6 Manager Office and files to import used and chosen the file updated the sametime.alx

  The error screen invited that there is no request to load on the device

  BUT he appeared in the Application section and chose the sign + for add and then apply and the rest went smooth.

  By back ring tones, I'm assuming you mean the song the caller hears when we call you, instead of just a sound standard of ringing.  If that's what you mean, they are a feature offered by your carrier and have nothing to do with BlackBerry itself.  You will need to call AT & T for information about them.

  I downloaded 3 ringtones for my 8320.  I tried to put ringtones customized for specific people.

  I went to the list of contacts - edited my contact and apply a custom ring tone.

  Then in the box - less advanced - profiles I tried specifying "use an active profile EXCEPT for: and selected the friend I assigned a specific ringtone."

  When my phone rings that person or I receive an SMS on their part... It still sounds generic ringtone for all calls and sms.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  Welcome to the blackberry forums.  Ringtones ringtones and SMS are set up differently as my friends shared above.  I agree with JSanders, SMS is a bit complicated, but once you get the hang of it - it won't take you long!  It took me awhile to do - but I did it! I followed these sub JSANDERS management.

  It's complicated for SMS ringtones, but possible. Follow the instructions here:

  This work around will allow you to receive specific alerts for e-mail and messages from specific senders:

  (Works with OS 4.2 and later)

  1. go to the profiles on your BlackBerry and create a custom profile, naming the name of your sender targeted.

  2. Edit and change the custom ringtones that you prefer for this contact message notifications, Messages of level 1, MMS, phone and SMS for this profile. You don't change things like the calendar, tasks, and Messenger alerts do not matter for individual users.

  3. once all your ringtone settings are defined for the new custom profile, save the changes. Now, you will be in your list of profiles and see your customized profile that there are listed with the standard.

  4. now click on the wheel, and then select new Exception.

  5. title except for what you want (would be smart to again name the name of this particular contact).

  6. in the line, click the trackball or trackwheel and select the user in your address book. They should show now in your line.

  7 scroll to the bottom and change the option use the active profile in your custom group newly created profile.

  8. you can dislodge the "Custom phone Tune" box if you already have a custom phone tune for this contact, or leave it and set it in the new custom as well profile.

  9 save the changes.

  Now once you have followed these for each SMS contact - click Save as indicated by the number nine.  Go back to your profile and click on normal or hard for the sound profile. Make sure that you have all of the exceptions already in your area of exception for those you did a SMS tone for. If you do, remove them so you your SMS does not work.  You can actually set your ringtones under each one that you set up as well. When you change your SMS sounds, you can click on the phone and change your ringtone to that specific one.  Hope you can understand this.

• iPhone 6 won't play the custom ring tone, lack of parts only

  My husband 6 (v9.2) IPhone has stopped playing its purchased, custom ringtone in the last week.  He is certainly on the personalized ring, we have turned on/turned off the phone twice, and yet he won't play, despite being put on the custom ring tone.  I've seen other similar messages, but no definitive answers.  Very annoying that he cannot hear his favorite ringtone that we paid a lot of money for.

  I have this problem as well. You appear to affect ringtones purchased after the 9.2 update. In my case, all my new ringtones Star Wars BB-8 go silent. A temporary solution is to connect your iPhone to iTunes and remove all ringtones and then re - sync. It should start working again. I noticed that when you restart your iPhone, the problem reappears and the steps above should be repeated.

  I'm new on my BB. I used to run palm OS Treo. With this OS, there was a program called Mini tones, with which you can edit MP3 files to create the exact tone you want to the millisecond. Does anyone know of this program with application of BB?

  You must use different software for creating your MP3 from your BlackBerry. As MP3s of Palm cannot be created / edition BlackBerry directely. Try Ring Tone Maker or Audacity. Many free software are also available in the internet. Gibe just a google search.

  You will need to go through all the options in the profile in question, as I don't know how many apps of your BB has, but in the manual...

  On the alerts, sounds and ringtones

  Sound profiles describe how your BlackBerry® device notifies you of the phone calls, messages, reminders and content browser. Your device has a Normal sound profile and six other preloaded sound profiles: loud, medium, vibrate only, Silent phone calls only and all alerts Off.

  By default, some of the parameters in the preloaded sound profiles are based on the Normal sound profile settings. For example, when you change the ring type in the Normal sound profile, ring type in profiles sound Loud, Medium and phone calls only is automatically updated. If you don't want specific settings for a preloaded sound profile to be updated automatically when you change the setting in the Normal profile, you can manually change the settings of this preloaded sound profile.

  You can create custom sound profiles. When you assign a ringtone to a contact, the ring tone is always active and does not change when you switch sound profiles unless you switch to the sound profile all alerts Off. The call notifications and message for your contacts may be audible even if you switch your sound profile silent or vibrate only.

  You can edit, rename, and delete most preloaded sound profiles. You cannot delete the profile of its only vibrate and you cannot edit, rename or delete the sound profiles all alerts Off. You can change the Normal sound profile, but you cannot rename or delete because some of the parameters in the other preloaded sound profiles are based on the Normal sound profile settings.

  Change a sound profile

  If you change a setting in a preloaded sound profile that is based on the Normal sound profile, this change will replace the Normal profile of its corresponding parameter in the preloaded sound profile.

  Does anyone know how to access ringtones stored in the BlackBerry operating system as the gall of short [] so I can reuse them in the alert class?

  By ring tones I mean tones used in the profile of a type alert (see attached screenshot).

  You cannot directly access and play the RIM tones - they are protected content.

  What you * can * is set up your own alert profile that is added to the profiles of BB. This profile can access the embedded ringtones. You fire this profile using NotificationManager.

  When I move my bb to my pc, normally when I click on explore, I get an icon for the 9530 which allows me to access my press card and only the memory of the device.  For the first time yesterday, I also noticed additional to explore the disks displayed in for my laptop, which allowed me to enter my ring tones folder and system files.  Now I see more two additional discs, that I've seen before which allows me to access these other records.  Someone knows how can I configure my system to always show my blackberry as a removable disk?

  Did not intend to intervene, but you get only options access additional folders in the mass storage mode. This option appears when you do a back up or turn on the option 'always ask' on device to ask when you connect to the pc.

  I've never actually done it myself, but that's what, in my view, could work to experience it, I did.

  From your home screen, go to Options > sounds and ringtones > sounds for Contacts > Add Contact alert.  Type the name of the contact for which you want a ringtone then scroll to alert settings contact and click on the phone.  You can now select a specific ringtone for that contact.

  As I said, I've tried never did this, so give it a shot and post back with your results.

  How do I put a unique ring tone when my wife calls me on my iPhone?

  I put the default ringtone for my iPhone in settings / sounds / ringtone to Strum.

  I put the contact card for my wife in the Contacts app on my iPhone for the uprising.

  When my wife calls me from his iPhone (which is the number I have for his iPhone in my app), my phone always sounds using the Strum ringtone. I expect to ring using the ringtone of uprising.

  I agree.  You have chosen the right place to turn on the ringer.  Try restarting the device.  In addition, you are able to change the other contacts?
