• Prevent commas in the text fields.

  I created a form in which a text field requires the user to enter a detailed documentation. In doing so, the user tends to use a comma in the description. That is extracted from the form data to Excel I can not enable commas. Can someone tell me what java script would be necessary to solve this problem or if it's possible? I am also open to other suggestions such as how to pipe delimited by comma delimited vs spin forms.

  I'm not sure about the import in Excel with commas in the text, that he would say would the best solution of fixing.  But to prevent someone from entering a comma character add the following JavaScript in the change event of the text box code;

  Assuming that you want to insert the values into the table, this is why you want to set values for the element,

  If this is the case, then no need to define values for the element to insert.

  Follow the steps below, it is one of the embodiment of your condition.

  Step 1: Put the code below in your classic report query

  assuming that the id is of type number and the name is of type varchar, that's why I am attaching the name to apostrophe, see line 3

• I try to send a PDF for visitors to download contrary to Safari and Chrome, FireFox displays the letter numbered and bulleted lists show no inFF

  It is a question of company about my client being read properly by our customers. The pdf file, we created (secure) or unsafe, can be played in the Player browser by default, but lists in the document (numbers, letters and bullets) don't appear - just indented paragraphs. I tried describing the text, etc. - nothing works. The same files are well in Safari and Chrome.

  Maybe that's a problem with the font used for the numbering? When I create a PDF from MS Word that uses automatic numbering or hierarchical numbering in the same font as the text, Viewer PDF in Firefox it displays normally.

  It should be simple, but I can't seem to find a straight answer.  In short:

  The XML file contains the ID, name, location (so 3 extreme records in the example xml file)

  Form contains a dynamic drop-down list to allow the selection of ID and text fields to display the names of the partners and the location of this ID.  The setting of the drop-down list works fine, however I need to update the associated name and location if different from the other ID's fields are selected.  I guess I'll need some sort of event on the menu drop down update other fields with the name and location of the selected ID, but I don't know enough to have a stab at him.

  Please, please, please help, Im starting to pull my hair.

  The thing I should have said and I guess that's your problem is the the Data property, I used in $data. Data.resolveNode (...) must match the item parent of the element of your event if xml looks like

  It should be $data.events.resolveNode (...)

  Maybe I should have used "itemGroup var = $data.resolveNode ("events.event.» (()_eventId.value_===_«_«_+_xfa.event.change+_»_») "); "in this case, but I try and do the resolveNode go as low as possible.

• Show / hide the text box drop-down list database

  Hi all

  First time post here - wahoo!  :-)  Brand new user of LiveCycle, and so far I'm loving - very cool app!  I am a bit puzzled, however, and hoping someone can help...

  I am using LiveCycle version 8.05 and try to build a form that has a drop-down list with departments in our Organization.  If the user selects the elements 1-5 on my list, I want two other fields at autopopulated (one for the Admin Assistant) and one for Dept Head.  If however the user selects 'Other', I want a text box (it will be hidden the rest of the time) where the person will be able to type in the Department they work for.  For now, I'm only interested on getting the box 'Other' to appear; I'll worry about the other stuff later.

  Elsewhere in my form, I have a functioning drop-down list that displays a text based on the selection field; However, for some reason this logic does not work with the situation described above.

  My code for the working text field is (in JavaScript)

  After many fruitless hours yesterday, I got only to the extent where the code below; This was more or less copied right out of a post here.  When I click on the drop-down list, select 'Other', the text field is displayed.  I tried the definition of the text field to the times 'Hidden' and 'Visible' through properties of the object, but no luck.  I tried to use IF statements, subforms and anything else I could think of but am getting nowhere.

  Hello!

  I think that you can set the decimal separator in the settings of the application; default settings of application; display options. There you can select the separators for the application.

  In case you want to use your own preferences you can do in the workspace: file-> Preferences-> click on schedule-> Display options tab, and then select number of formatting you want.

  I have a few areas where people enter some numbers and then the calculations are done (behind the scenes), and a number that results appears in a new field. I need to know how to get the commas to appear in the appropriate places (for example - if someone result was 82746, I would like it to appear as "82 746" rather than "82746")...

  Just change the:

  Hi friends, my dashboard displays a drop-down list for dates, which are in the format "2008-07-01 12:00:00 AM.
  It is defined in sql server datetime data type. Is it possible to change the date format in the swift dash to just '01/07/2008' without doing next database.

  In the fast dashboard, you have the option to select for example to show SQL,.

  you write SQL or SQL advanced logic: select cast ("timestampCOLUMN" as the date) of "PresentationLayerName"
  This is a simple way without changing anything beside SPR...
  And if you want that the timestamp column somewhere in some reports you can directly use this column.
  If you don't want you must typecast as the DATE.

• FF4 print format PDF (Acro Pro) makes the text as image (FF3 do not have)

  When I create a PDF file with Acro Pro text using FF4 is rendered as an image. FF3 doesn't have this (another rendering browsers text text as well). Win 7 Pro 64 bit, FF 4.0

  It seems to go away when you disable hardware acceleration: Tools-> Options-> advanced-> general-> browsing, uncheck the "use hardware acceleration when available. Then restart Firefox.

  Looks like a bug to me. Hardware acceleration should affect screen, not print not... and if it produces effects of impression, it should not impact it this way.

• Set the height of an object list field

  I would like to reduce the height of the ObjectListField so that it does not use the full height of the screen.  This will allow a 'information panel' inside that is updated when the highlighted line is changed.

• Value formatting in the guided Navigation

  Does anyone know if there is a way to configure the value formatting for an attribute in the guided Navigation?

  In my case we have digital and long values, but because they are numbers or codes, a delimiter is not wanted for these values.

  However, we do not want just the format of the values as strings to keep the formatting because it is also necessary to use a filter of the range on these values, which won't work on strings.

  Assuming you're talking about 3.0, and then on the guided Navigation pane, the value uses formatting configured for this attribute in the display manager.

  I have a linux script that gets the CSV files from a remote server and import the data into a table using SQLLoader.

  There is a way to do it, but it depends on a few assumptions, and (b) you have to jump through hoops to do it.

  First of all, this only works if there is no comma request_id, user_id or facility_id. (if there is, then you're stuck, because there is no way to determine which commas are part of data and those that are separators.)

  Second, he must know if there are any particular character - say | -who never appears in the detail.

  If you can do both of these assumptions, then what you have to do is:
  (1) create an array that consists of a single VARCHAR2 column large enough to hold longer line of your input data.
  (2) to import your data into this table.
  (3) replace the first five commas in each row of the table with. (or whatever your "unused" character).
  For example:

  UPDATE temp_data_table
  SET row_text = REPLACE(SUBSTR(row_text, 1, INSTR(row_text, ',', 1, 5)), ',', '|') || SUBSTR(row_text,  INSTR(row_text, ',', 1, 5) + 1);
  COMMIT;
  

  (4) write a SQL INSERT command to build your target table according to the values separated by the | characters.

  DropdownList1.rawValue returns the bound value, so, how do you get the text?
