Customization of email alert notifications

I was asked to change the verbiage of the e-mail alert notifications.  Is this possible?

For example, we are currently receiving the following when the availability of a server changes:

Subject: [HQ]! -[name of alert] [resource name]

Message:
[resource name] has generated the following alert:
[name of alert] [resource name] Availability (0.0%)

----------------------------------------------------------
RETAIL ALERT
-Name of the resource
-Name alert
-Description alert
-To attract the attention of Date / time
-One or more trigger conditions
-Alert severity

Final metric indicator collected

Can it be replaced by a message personalized, such as

Subject: Database server has changed the availability status

Message:
Availability on the database server changed (0.0%).  Please review and, if necessary, log a ticket: [internal help desk URL]

?  Thank you

Yes, it is possible. There are some documents to http://support.hyperic.com/display/DOC/Tailoring+Alert+Notification+Templates

    Hi all

I turned on my 9300 the other SIMs day and I received a new text message on it that I read & deleted...

I then put in my old SIM and the alert at the top of the screen (1 envelope) which notifies you when you have a new message is still there!

I have deleted all messages, emails, checked all folders, saved files, restarted (hundreds of times!), but the notice is still there.

It obviously isn't a major problem, but I find it incredibly annoying!

Any help to solve the problem would be greatly appreciated!

  • Help to set up an email alert Notification

    Hello-

I've recently upgraded to vRealize operations 6.1 and have problems to work properly for e-mail notification alerts.  At the beginning I wanted to just receive email notification alerts when a certain group of machines in a VM folder have been low on disk space, I'm so tried set up a filter notification for this specifically. I got 9 active alerts corresponding to the criteria already active, so I canceled all the and waited for them to re - start thinking that I had received an alert when they did.  I never received when they re-triggered, however I received an e-mail informing you that they had been cancelled in the first place.  I thought that maybe my filters were too specific, so I played a little bit and tried to put the scope of the notification to all VMs with no other filter, then I tried an impact notification trigger - health with no other filter, then I tried a trigger of an alert definition and finally I tried to adjust the criticality of a low setting , but nothing I makes it so that a notification is sent when the alert is triggered.  Curiously, I receive a notification when I solve the problem and clears the alarm. Anyone have any ideas what I am doing wrong?

This looks like a problem known to point 6.1.  A patch was recently released to remedy.

Just to add to the excellent position of dcovery, a notification must have been set to transmit an alert if the closed collector communicating (download files) to the dashboard (optimize.vmware.com) and a subscription for this notification.

It is a good idea to set the notification, but do not forget to disable it or UN - subscribe to it. This proactive notification setting ensures that data are collected on an ongoing basis.

If the project is completed and the project/company hide option has been used, simply navigate to the home page and choose the tab "Show project or show companies" and select the item to view the company / project and execution however by disabling or unsubcribing from the notification.

  • Text & Email alerts/notifications during a vibrate mode?

Hello people! I just took the Motorola Droid this weekend and I'm having a problem with something... so here and I hope someone can help me with this question:

While my phone is on vibrate, how is it that whenever I get a new SMS, gmail or facebook to update my phone only vibrates? All I get is a flashing that lets me know I have a new text or e-mail, but other than the light, there is no way for me to know that I have a new message.

If my phone vibrate and someone calls me, the phone starts vibrating... but not when I get new messages... as I said, on the phone light will start to blink, but the phone vibrates to let me know I have a new message.

I don't understand.. with my old phone (travel) when it has been set to "Vibrate" mode, the phone vibrated both when I received a call or SMS, but not my Droid. I looked in the 'manual' together and I wasn't able to find anything about alert messages and how to set up different types of notifications. So right now, I'm stuck looking at my phone from time to time to see if I have new messages. I received some messages while I got the phone on vibrate attached to my waist and I didn't know people had texted me because there was no sound or vibration notification type.

Anyone has an idea how to set up the phone vibrates when receiving new messages when the phone is on "vibrate"?

    THANK YOU MUCH IN ADVANCE!

under the settings of your email (I use gmail), there is a setting to vibrate when the message or something like that. and should be somehting similar to your e-mail. If these values are defined, then it still vibrates when a text or an e-mail arrives that you are on silent or not.

    Hello

You are running a very old version of SANHQ.   The current version is v3.2.

The first error is quite simple, it seems that the incorrect IP address was used to add to this group.   What the dedicated management interface configured once it has been added to SANHQ?

The 2nd error could be a connectivity issue, old SANHQ, old EQL FW or table was very busy at the time.  It could also be linked to the incorrect configuration error if errors refer to the same group.

What a picture of model and firmware currently running?

    Kind regards

  • WAAS Email alert

Is it possible to set up e-mail alerts for when the central Manager displays an alert.  For example recently one of our devices show that a diet is bad and must be replaced.  I see in the Manager of the central, there is a section for the SMTP server info, but according to the documentation, I think it's only for the notification of the report jobs correct me if I'm wrong. I also know that you can go to each device and configure notifications and provide the SMTP info here as well but I don't know if that will send the right information.  I looked on the device GUI that has the power of bad diet and cannot be found anywhere in the GUI, who says he has a bad power supply. The alert is only appear in the Manager of the central as well as if you SSH to the machine and do a show alerts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Daniel,.

Yes. You are right. The paper I sent you is SNMP configuration only. It does not set up alerts by e-mail on WAE.

You must configure individual WAE for e-mail alerts. It is not yet integrated through the Central Manager. The WAE will send individual email alerts, independent SNMP alerts. I am yet to confirm whether or not you should activate the alert SNMP on WAE to make it work.

Added: I just checked you must enable and configure the SNMP settings to make this work.

    Kind regards.

  • vROPS 6.0 - Email alert

I've raised a new installation of vROPS 6.0. Things seem to work until now, but I can't find any help on the configuration of alerts by e-mail. I added my SMTP server and tests work fine. I was expecting something simple like in vCenter where you can set triggers and actions for any given alert, but VROPS seems to hide somewhere. For example... I want to receive an email when vSwitches drop packets and guest VM is running out of space.

  • Re: Email alert Notofications

    Hello guys,.

I am using custom dashboards and I send as an email alerts to the respective teams. To do this, we have @event alert and its configuration. To specify that only certain alerts (those important or essential) should hit the enamel of team members we have now no settings GUI to configure the alert out of dashboards customized just like standard dashboards in notifications. For this vmware has created an emailfilter.xml file in the VM Analytics which allows to modify according to your design. My question is where can I fnd this file on a virtual computer analytical if we deployed Ops vC as a paralytic? because vmware has told u cannot use this xml file configuration file editor.

    Vmware notes: see highlited lines

A filtering rule is a set of conditions and e-mail addresses. The vCenter Operations Manager E-mail plugin uses
filtering rules to send email notifications to alert appropriate users based on the application, resources
kind, level alert and other criteria.
You define filter rules in the emailFilter.xml file, which is located in the vcenterops\
    Directory of user\plugins\outbound\filter_alertplugin\conf.
If you use the Operations Manager VAPP vCenter, edit the file emailFilter.xml on the second virtual server
    machine.
VCenter Operations Manager Standalone, you can edit emailFilter.xml directly, or you can use the
Configuration file editor. This procedure describes how to use the Configuration file editor.
To the Operations Manager VAPP vCenter, you must modify emailFilter.xml directly. You cannot use the
Editor configuration file with the Operations Manager vApp vCenter. For a description of the XML elements
in emailFilter.xml, see "emailFilter.xml leader," on page 82.

    Any help is appreciated

  • Email alerts not working not

I install hyperic to let know me by email when an alert is generated. I see generated alerts. I don't get the emails. And yes I have Setup notifications of e-mail for the alert that I set up. Is there something that I am missing? My installation is done on the Windows XP computer. I couldn't see a place to enter the ip address of the e-mail server hypericHQ. Please help if you can.

Check the server.log to see if there are errors on sending emails.
    Two things happens probably here:
    1. the mail server with that HQ is configured does not exist or is
    misconfigured.
    2. the mail server that receives the notification e-mail is rejected
it because the 'From' email is configured with a domain that is not
    fix.

Both have fairly easy bugs.  # 1, you can change the e-mail HQ Server
uses to send alert notifications by editing
    Server-2.7.x/conf/HQ-server.CONF.  # 2 the HQ administrator can
change the email address used to send notifications to alert on the HQ
The (Administration-> Configuration of the HQ server) server settings page.

If none of them are the problem, we will need to see the server.log to
    solve problems more far.

  • Email alerts - iDRAC7 - Gmail

    Hi all

I tried to get the alert e-mail to work with iDRAC7, but my test emails fail immediately.

In our environment, we have a couple of NAS devices that have the alert e-mail.  I put to use port 587 and I enable TLS.  I also use a Gmail (smtp.gmail.com) as the e-mail server.  It works very well with my NAS devices.

I would use this same account to gmail for email iDRAC alerts.  I activated Google Alerts and activated authentication.  I guess it will be port 587?

Someone at - he had to work with a Gmail email alerts?

I did some research and played a bit with the domain name and the dns name, but I got no chance (in the common parameters).  I have two DNS servers entered in the network settings.  I also tried just to put the ip address of smtp.gmail.com as the e-mail server instead of the name of trying to make DNS of the equation.

Port 587 is permanently open on our firewall.

    Thank you

In fact, I found a work around that I wanted to share.

I have configured an internal SMTP relay server in 2012 from server to transfer emails to the gmail server.

    http://fmuntean.WordPress.com/2008/10/26/how-to-configure-IIS-SMTP-server-to-forward-emails-using-a-Gmail-account/

In this way, port 25 may be used internally (iDRAC for relay server) and the port 587 TLS can be used to send to Gmail (smtp.gmail.com relay server).
