Customization of the OPA 12 interviews

If I understand the documentation that the interview can be customized from within the OPM.

http://documentation.custhelp.com/EUF/assets/devdocs/may2015/PolicyAutomation/en/default.htm#guides/policy Modeling of User Guide/Interviews/Customize_appearance_of_interview.htm

This talk about updating the formatting options, but what to change the model completely?  In 10.x, we had models of velocity that would allow us to build on the appearance of the page from scratch, but it seems that OPA 12 here is a bit more limited.  For example, it is easy to OPM to add an image in the header, but often we want more that a picture - we have a full menu, header, and footer that we need to implement.  I would rather avoid iFrames due to accessibility requirements, so what would be the best way to integrate these controls?

This theme looks like it would be relatively easy to implement with a combination of construction in the options configuration Styles and probably a bit of custom .css.

Also there is the possibility of using Javascript if there are some changes you want to conditionally apply to HTML content on a screen.

  • OPA to interview for Rightnow - problem with the mapped fields

    Hi Experts

We strive to integrate an interview of takeover bid for an anonymous user in Rightnow.

At the end of the interview, a contact and an incident of child will be created in Rightnow.

    The integration works as expected.

At the end of the interview, we would like to display the number of incidental reference to the user.

However, the incident reference number of Rightnow field is not available in the list of fields that are mapped to the incident entity fields in the OPA.

Another field of incident as a subject, category etc. are displayed and available to me all laid out, but not the reference number.

While using this interview for the customer portal user Rightnow, mapping setting is different, and in this case the number of incidents of reference is allowed to be mapped.

This similar to example modules design student benefits.

But we need this feature for the anonymous user also.

    Help, please.

    Thank you

    Swati

    Hi Swati,

Load after submit only is currently supported for the global object - contact in your case.

If when the Incident is created, you can some how get RightNow to copy a custom field to the Contact reference number (for example lastCreatedRefNum or similar), then you could load from there in touch and then display it to the user.

  • More quick REST API / JSON approaches to the interviews of the OPA?

I recognize there are services / libraries that can convert an OPA Web Service deployment on the hub to a JSON / REST API.  (Examples: Mashape I used for the other REMAINS in the SOAP proxy).

But, is there a consensus on the more common approach / best to this operation?  Is there an approach that may be more in line with the future development of the OPA hub around REST API?  I think I saw something with Oracle Cloud Computing Mobile Service, but I cannot find enough documentation to the CEP with.

It occurs to me, that instead of researching the topic for an hour or more, I could have benefits more ask on the forum.

    Thank you

Paul, my quick view is that whatever you do will be OK, because even once we add REST API, existing SOAP API will remain for backward compatibility reasons.

It would also be impossible to build compatibility for something we have not designed yet, so I can't really all guide on what to do / avoid in order to simplify any possible future transition official rest API.

We use clouds OPA August version 12.2. We develop the application assistant job using determinations OPA Web to capture trade information and the information of the Agency cross.

Managers of custom control are documented here library of Documentation Oracle policy Automation.

The Manager of your custom control will get an HTTP POST request with several parameters which will be takeover-session. The value of this parameter is a URL string coded something like this:

    opa-session=%3C%3Fxml+version%3D%221.0%22+%3F%3E%3Csession-data+xmlns%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Foracle.com%2Fdeterminations%2Fengine%2Fsessiondata%2F10.2%22%3E%3Centity+id%3D%22global%22%3E%3Cinstance+id%3D%22global%22%3E%3Cattribute+id%3D%22nearest_city%22+type%3D%22text%22+inferred%3D%22false%22%3E%3Cunknown-val%2F%3E%3C%2Fattribute%3E%3Cattribute+id%3D%22gps_coords%22+type%3D%22text%22+inferred%3D%22false%22%3E%3Cunknown-val%2F%3E%3C%2Fattribute%3E%3Cattribute+id%3D%22number_vehicles%22+type%3D%22text%22+inferred%3D%22false%22%3E%3Cunknown-val%2F%3E%3C%2Fattribute%3E%3C%2Finstance%3E%3C%2Fentity%3E%3C%2Fsession-data%3E

  • Integration of the OPA 10.4 with Oracle E-business Suite

We have a requirement for the integration of the OPA 10.4 with Oracle E - business suite.

    The condition is hypocritical:

    (1) EBS can call rules of the takeover bid on any screen - I think that this will be achieved by Oracle determinations Server (ODS) with probably a middleware between both to facilitate the exchange of webservice.

Request- I just wanted to know if there is another way to better or if it is only best option?

Are there examples of projects or pointers that can help us get a better understanding of the present?

    (2) given certain conditions of release in EBS, the modules of the OPA may be invoked, but this time there may be a few involved OPA interview screens.

Request- How to proceed and achieve this goal?

Any help on the above queries is really appreciated.

    (1) it is for an older version of OPA, but you might find something useful in this tutorial.

    (2) launch a browser window in passing a single parameter "caseid" to OPA startsession URL, so that a data adapter that you write can load and save data interviews of EBS based on the id of the object.

  • How to activate the Mobile in the hub of the OPA

    Hello

Private cloud 12.1 of the OPA of just downloaded and installed.  Want to test mobile features interviews, but it seems that it is not possible by default to allow interviews or compatible mobile users.  Is this something that needs to be configured, or is this feature not available immediately?

    Thank you

    Faraz

    Hi Faraz,

If you go to your MySQL database and find the config_property table, you will find a field that will allow mobile, feature_mobile_enabled. The default value is set to off (0) so just it set to 1, then you should get the option of mobile use in the hub of 12.1.

    Kind regards

  • How can we make invisible static value in a text field to the OPA

    Hi all

I have invisible static value in a text field in the OPA.

For ex: field contains the value 100 while we manage the maintenance should not display the value 100 or make us the text as invisible field. whenever we submit the interview the value should be passed.

I made the background color of the text in white field, but it reflects all the text fields. I need to make the text of the particular text as invisible field. Can someone give me a solution for it.

Use two different attributes (the one that is indicated in the interview to the need - for example, as "the id selected user" or whatever the phrase is appropriate) and a different attribute, which is the mapped attribute.  The second attribute must not be on any screen of the interview (by thus "invisible" for the user).  Write a table of rules that concludes that the value of the attribute mapped on is EITHER static value or the selected/expected value according to some logic is appropriate to make a decision in your model of strategy.

  • What is the meaning of the OPA session tables in Siebel for OPA? That is to say why they were created when they should be used? and what was the first thought behind the creation of tables of session?

    Hi all

I wanted to know best practices regarding the use of the tables of session OPA? that is, what was the initial logic of creating tables of session? where we should use them and why? also can you please argue for and against about two approaches mentioned below

Method 1: Save and reterieve OPA session data tables using session ID and case ID?

Approach 2: Save data in Siebel database tables and just use reterieve case Id Siebel data and save the back.

    Thanks for your replies.

Session tables are there to allow easy storage of the results of an interview of the OPA. It can be used to extract data from an interview, but probably more useful as an archive of past interviews. Is it possible to load a previous interview in the determinations of the Web from this table.

    1. This can be very useful to resume a partially completed interview.

    2. it can be used as verification of de facto mechanism to see what has been entered in an interview.

In general I prefer to approach 2 where there are intercepted the incoming data to an interview in a before handler registration and then save the data you need from the interview in the location that you must save it.

It's very strange sound. It might be a problem caused by unnecessary attributes sent in the query. Try the following (generic example application).

    http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/SOAP/envelope/"xmlns:typ ="http://oracle.com/determinations/server/10.4/rulebase/assess/types">."

    A

This application is the most correct for the following reasons:

    • You should not set the attributes type and deducted . These attributes are usually returned in the response and cannot be defined by the application.
    • You should not set the style of the result of an attribute that you provide the value of. It must always be returned in the response.

That said, these points do not explain why the applicationClass value is returned as unknown. Perhaps the additional attributes in the query is triggering some bad server behavior of determinations which is the cause not to define the attribute.

This regulation, if any, that you have associated with modules? You have any customization of the server determination or modules?

  • Determinations server is stateless for the Service Web Interview?

OPA documentation states that in "a broadcast clustered environment:

"The determinations server operates transactions without State. When dealing with surgery, this operation is complete, leaving the server determinations in the same condition as when he started. Because there is no State which is held between the determinations server operations, it does not matter which server in a cluster of servers of determinations used a particular client request. »

Although this seems true for specific and generic web services, web Interview service begins with an operation of "OpenSession". Is the web service Interview really stateless or are there tricks to make it stateless? We need to define our routers to load balancing to have sessions because of this?

Yes sorry, you're right - the maintenance Service is dynamic and will require sessions. It is only the specific services and evaluate the generics that are stateless.

    I have modified documentation.

  • How to integrate the OPA with Oracle apps?

    Hello

I am very new to the OPA.
We would like to integrate the OPA of oracle apps R12 propert manager. Please let me know software prereq for the latter. And where to start?

    Thank you
    Praveen

    Praveen,

OPA has a fairly standard history of integration, depending on what you want to do exactly.

    * You can integrate into an application that uses the Java or .NET API.
    * You can integrate an Application using the determination using XML/SOAP server.
    * If you want to use our Web Application (Web determinations) to conduct interviews, you can write plugins for determinations of Web which will allow you to do things such as the seeds a session when an interview starts, load banks of application data sessions and save sessions in application data stores.

Take a look at the political Oracle of automation of OTN at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/apps-tech/policy-automation/overview/index.html section. You'll find some tutorials and white papers integration, etc.

These buttons are not in the drop-down to 'Add' Palette, they are on the Navigation toolbar and must be "moved".
The buttons Stop and reload should appear between the address bar and the search bar when customize is open, and the home button should appear to the right of the search bar.

  • Customization of the insertion in a custom user interface palette

    Greetings,

I am working on a custom for Teststand application user interface and I want to give the user the ability to edit files in sequence using a simplified subset of the predefined types step.  I based user interface custom off the Labview FullOI example in the teststand 4.2 folder.

I found the context menu item 'Customize' out of the palette of insertion and who seems to get most of what I'm looking for (hiding like IVI and synchronization of files and the individual steps as the FTP files and call executable), but what I really want to know, is if I can remove it to the different symbols of 'top' that choose between adapters.  I wish that the customer must only see Labview and none and RID where hide the CVI, C/C++ DLL, .NET and ActiveX.

Where, moreover, are the options that you set in the menu customize stored user interface custom compared to the sequence editor own right?  I want to make sure that I have a good list of all of my modified files I create a CD of deployment of work later on the road.  I'm assuming that to change the visible categories in the interface custom user won't change their visibility in the application of the sequence editor.

Personalization step insert palette changes affect the sequence editor and the user interface. The settings are stored in testexec.ini in the cfg directory.

You can hide the adapters using the card configuration window in the config menu

You can simply keep separate versions of your testexec.ini, one for when you want the customizations and the other for when you don't have, assuming that you do not use the machine even for both. If you use the same machine for both you can implement some sort of automated way of switching on which version of the file that you are using.

    Hope this helps,
