• Performance of CVI 2013 SP2 with CVI 2015 - Windows XP problem

  I see that XP isn't an operating system in 2015 of the CVI.

  Most of our PC are Win7 now, but we have some legacy units which require XP due to a limitation of external controller processor.

  Is is possible to generate executables in 2015 CVI which will work correctly with the runtime of 2013?

  Alternatively, CVI SP2 from 2013 and 2015 CVI co-exist on the same PC development?

  I would not get stuck with CVI 2013 SP2 for the future just to maintain a few predictable XP-based PC.

  Essentially, you can develop a code in CVI 2015 but set the executable to run on previous versions of the Run-Time Engine. Note that the older version of the RTE of Side-by-Side CVI is 2012. You can indeed install previous versions of the CVI on the same computer. The shared runtime will be set to the latest version. Other versions will be side-by-side. The code is not guaranteed to work with previous versions of the RTE so be sure to test the code locally before moving on to another computer.

  What I have to do all the facilities additional to use features of Windows SDK, or is it included in the default installation?

  You can use the help / find examples and looking for the SDK. This gives 10 examples, including verinfo.cws and winshape.cws...

• Windows SDK RegGetValue compiles but does not run program

  I'm porting software from another library that I have that uses native Windows. After writing a small test NI CVI 9.0 program, I found that the RegGetValue() function when it is used, translates into a program that does not work (will not yet be debug with an error on files not being is not in the path). Delete this single line and it works where it is supposed to.

  CVI9 programming interface Toolbox has a function to read the registry, but why it will work with the standard Windows SDK? Is it possible that I can get RegGetValue() to work as documented by MSDN in CVI?

  I tried including ADVAPI32. LIB and ADVAPI32_LVRT. LIB and no work (in the folder lib/MSVC)

  It worries me that the WinSDK is not compatible with CVI and I don't know where I can find this information on the compatibility.

  What operating system do you use? According to MSDN, minimum supported OSs are Windows Vista and Windows XP Professional x 64. The same paper suggests on Win XP SP2 to use SHRegGetValueinstead. You can also watch RegQueryValueEx statement.

• Cannot install Windows SDK 7.1

  I was not able to install Windows SDK 7.1 (the machine runs on Windows 7 Pro x 64).

  The error message in a message box:

  I tried both the web installer and the image file ISO (x 64 version), with the same result, except that the ISO file download not omit in the log file.

  Note:

  I have a version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x 64) installed and a single version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable (x 64) installed.  No version 2010 (or later).

  I then noticed that it is necessary to have Microsoft .NET Framework is installed, so I installed the version 4.5.2.

  This did not affect the results.  I got the same error message, and even recorded events.

  I want to install labview 2013sp1 on a brand new with OS win7 32-bit computer, but get error Windows SDK (code-12 and something else).

  Try to install discs, or create an ISO image of the disc, mount the image, and then install from that. This seems very similar to the question that I had.

• Impossible to uninstall Windows SDK 7.1 worm

  Uninstaller for Windows SDK 7.1 on Windows 7 Pro 64 x SP1 cannot access a required file to continue installing (it's what it says). I'm actually trying to uninstall the SDK software.

  The error I get is "unable to access the network 4.0 location. "Please make sure your network connection is working correctly and restart Setup to continue.

  I read the release notes and I already do the following below...

  3.2 How to uninstall SDK components

  ...  However, some shared components installed by the SDK software may need to be uninstalled separately. This guide provides instructions to uninstall shared components.

  To uninstall the SDK shared components:

  1. in the Start Menu, go to Panel, programs and features (Add/Remove programs on operating systems prior to Vista)

  2. Select and delete the following entry:

  · Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows 7 (7.1) (Windows SDK core-component files)

  3 remove shared components. This list provides components that you can see. If you are running a 64-bit version of Windows, you can see the two versions of 32-bit and 64-bit (x 64, IA-64) (x 86) the parts listed:

  I try and install the SK and it fails for Web and ISO Setup > DVD drive. Same error every time:

• Cannot install the Windows SDK

  I try to install the Windows SDK for Windows 7 with .NET Framework 4 on a DVD.  Installation takes place in short a while then Setup stops and inflicts a cleanup at the.  I get a window "Installation Failed" with a message telling me to "refer to Samples\Setup\HTML\ConfigDetails.htm document for more information."  However, the cleaning process removes this document so it is impossible for me to see.  I saved the log file "SDKSetup_7.0.6918.0.log" but it's over a length of 1000 rows.  I'll be happy to send it to you if you wish!  I have made several attempts to install from the DVD I burned the ISO file downloaded and on the web.  I get the same result every time.  What do you suggest me?

  I found through research more than others have discovered that the SDK will not install anything it either if it finds a later version of the redistributable C running pre-installed libraries.  I had to uninstall the C libraries, then install the SDK and then do a MS update to get the latest patches for the runtime libraries.  Frankly, it seems pretty stupid to me.  At the very least, the installation should give a comprehensible message on why it would not be installed.

• Windows SDK 7.1 not installs on Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 10.0.40219

  I try to install the 64-bit from the Windows SDK 7.1 compiler.  But the installation fails with an error (empty) useless.  I tried various fixes suggested in various forums online, but my research suggests that the problem is likely to be the C++ Redistributable package has already installed more recent than the version in the SDK, and he therefore moved not on them.  Unfortunately, I can't seem to uninstall the redistributable files: there no option to uninstall them in programs and features, probably because they were put there as part of the installation of another program.  But I don't know which and have not been able to understand.  I can't just go remove programs at random, so I don't think that kidnapping will work for me.

  Is it possible to get the compiler installed without removing the redistributable files? Microsoft plans to release an updated SDK to update anytime soon?
  For what it's worth, I'm on Windows 7 Enterprise SP1, 64-bit.

  Please be informed that Acrobat DC is compatible on Windows 7 and later (system requirements for Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, Acrobat Standard DC ).

  So, you won't be able to install it on Windows Vista.
