Cypress of the touchpad XPS 15z Windows 8 (workaround Solution)

Where is the Windows 8 Cypress TrackPad to 15z XPS driver?

Problem: Before moving to Windows 8 Windows 8 Upgrade Wizard would you removed the Cypress TrackPad software and the driver before the forced upgrade. After upgrading your XPS 15z to Windows 8, you will notice while there is no Cypress TrackPad driver downloads for the XPS 15z section Windows 8 and Dell drivers website. Instead, there is only a Windows 7 driver.

Reference Dell quietly marked the A06 2.3.6.26 compatible TrackPad in Windows 8 Cypress driver Version but tries to install the A06 Cypress TrackPad driver normally will give an error of inconsistency like the one below, this is because the Setup.exe file. A workaround for this problem is to perform a manual installation of the Cypress TrackPad driver by following the instructions in the reply thread below (see link)

This is what is displayed if you try to install the driver to TrackPad A06 Cypress on the XPS 15z through its normal Setup.exe. The error is a bit misleading as the driver itself runs under Windows 8, but for some reason any Windows 8 identifies the blocks and as incompatible installation software installation.

To work around this problem, you can work around the normal installation executable and install the driver and the software manually:

http://en.community.Dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/p/19473174/20216716.aspx#20216716

Note: The driver of Windows 7 is compatible with Windows 8 registered you can confirm this by checking the driver details and clicking on the Compatibility tab. The issue being that Windows 8 will prevent the normal Cypress Setup.exe to run due to the incompatibility of software checks, it is a bit misleading because the driver itself is fully functional in Windows 8. This problem has been reported to Dell and I hope it will be corrected soon.

If this solution has worked for other owners XPS 15z made me know by responding to the thread! If you have any problems or questions do not hesitate to respond to the thread.

  • Satellite A300-1EG: problem with the touchpad after installing Windows 7

    Hello!

I had a problem with my touchpad since I installed Windows 7 (64-bit version) on my laptop (Toshiba) A300-1EG.

I tried many different solutions to this problem.
I checked the alignment of the touchpad (be it on) in the BIOS, I tried to install several drivers (on a site of Synaptics, automatically by Windows) and none of these work. Of course, I tried FN + F9 key combination.
When I check the alignment of the touchpad in the Control Panel, everything seems fine. It is written, that "device working properly.

I have Toshiba Software, what may be the cause of the problem?
But I have no idea where I can find something.

    I'd appreciate any help.

I hope to be understandable - English is not my mother tongue :) Thank you very much in advance for any ideas. :)

    Hi mate

I'm not quite sure what problem you have but you should first try to install the necessary drivers touchpad m.
Maybe you used the wrong driver in the past

So Sat A300-1EG belongs to the series of PSAG4E.
The European driver Toshiba page does not provide a special touchpad driver for Win 7 for this device.

But I noticed that Win 7 64 bit drivers touchpad (Alps & Synaptics) for Satellite L500 PSLS3E series is released on the European driver page.
Try both drivers Touch Pad for this device and test it!

My computer laptop lenovo I had to install the driver Synaptics support pages of Lenovo to my Fn + F6 combination of keys to work & turn the touchpad on or off but quickly discovered that it reactivates each time it starts so I had to open the mouse in the control panel and Synaptics window, there is a big disable button that permantly disables once connected to this user account , but otherwise his license... which is a good thing if a problem at the start.

  • HP Pavilion: activate the touchpad while typeing windows 8.

Hi I have a Hp pavilion and I noticed that when I type my touchpad turns off... I heard one solution is to disable the check of palm, but I can't find this option. What is no idea what to do now please help!

    Hello

SmartSense is almost identical to Palm check, so turn off should allow you to use the keyboard and the touchpad at the same time - just click on the "gear" beside SmartSense, adjust the slider to turn it off, click close and then click on apply to save the change.

Another parameter in Windows 8/8.1 you can also check is as follows.

In the bar of charms, click setting and select change PC settings.

PCs and devices, and select mouse and touchpad.

Under the touchpad, select "no delay (always enabled) in the menu dropdown.

  • Laptop Acer V3 - 571 will not get increased from 22% of the anniversary "Update" for Windows 10 part of the installation

I have an Acer laptop V3-571, initially w / Windows 7 Home, which I've updated to Windows 10. Site Acer says that this laptop will support the 10 anniversary Win update.

Tried to download the update of the anniversary online, but came back to win 10. Switched to Windows Media Creator for the next download attempt, I uninstalled my avast! Internet security. Back in return once again. Then reused Win Media Creator (after I deleted also Malwarebytes Anti - malware & also Anti-Exploit SuperAntiSpyware & Malwarebytes. After fully downloading birthday update (Win 10 AND updates), came after new Win 10 and 22% of updates. And here AGAIN once I had turned off the Bluetooth drivers, I have downloaded the update of the birthday & again once the mark of 22%, the updates to the new download to win 10 birthday, my machine back the previous Win 10.

Someone at - he heard of this? Any suggestions?

What's the brand of 22% the machine restarts (which is the second restart during the installation of birthday) and shows that my machine is back to the previous version of Windows?

    Thanks in advance.

To clarify: after the anniversary update all downloads without problem, the anniversary part of Windows 10 installs without problem. Then "Updates" to begin the installation, at the helm of the 22% of these "Updates" install, the machine restarts and returns to the previous installation of Windows.

SOLUTION: Finally, yesterday, I downloaded new drivers for Bluetooth USB Module and Intel(r) HD Graphics 4000. In addition, w / my free all search app, pulled up to Windows.old and renamed Anything.old (read on a forum that helped rename Windows.old with any word to replace the word "Windows"). Whether updated drivers and/or the name change, the downloaded Windows Media Creator & the birthday. installed update w / no. HARM my computer or any partition, including the partition w / Ubuntu. • XPS 15z Cypress Trackpad drivers on Windows 10

    Hi all

even if my XPS Dell 15z has not officially tested for Windows 10 and probably never will be tested, I've upgraded to Windows 10 yesterday.

Everything seems pretty fine, with the exception of the (still horrible) Cypress Touchpad.
    This is what happened:

    1. after the upgrade is complete, I found that Windows has installed the Synaptics Touchpad drivers.
    2. my trackpad has worked, with the exception of no multi touch gestures.
    3. I uninstalled all drivers, cleaned the files + registry via CCleaner and restarted every time as needed
    4. I installed the drivers that I learned from this post: en.community.dell.com/.../19579806
    5. I checked if two-finger-scroll has been enabled in the driver configuration utility, checked and unchecked the boxes several times
    6. I tried all kinds of other bug fixes for the infamous Cypress Trackpad in Windows 8 pilot and so on

Overall, nothing is done - in addition to the basic features that the generic driver provides also, I have absolutely no gestures of support. Just the driver doesn't seem to work at all, despite running in the background.

There seems to be similar problems with the Synaptics drivers, just that there seems to be some bugs for her.

I have absolutely no hope that Dell will come out a driver halfway decent for this piece of junk they call a trackpad, but perhaps that other users have an idea on how to solve this problem.

    Greetings

    Chris

PS: I didn't forget, support and usability of this missing trackpad is the main reason stopping me to buy any product Dell anytime soon. It's the kind of thing, what makes people buy MacBooks.

  • XPS 15z, 10 Windows drivers?

Will there be a Windows 10 for XPS 15z driver support? If this isn't the case, think of it. And please do good, because the drivers for Windows 8 were incomplete and some of them, like Intel HD Graphics, poorly written (blinking at the top of the screen, slow initialization start up screen...), I had to roll back to Windows 7. As the rumors, Windows 7 and 8 users will get free upgrade to Windows 10, so please release Windows 10 drivers. I don't want to miss this opportunity.

Well the warranty service technician Dell phone told me that the odds were 90% that Dell could not be updated drivers for XPS 15z.

  • FN + F3 disable the Touchpad does not work. Dell XPS L702X

Hello, I am new to this forum.

The function FN + F3 that disable the Touchpad does not work, my laptop Dell XPS 17 (L702X)

I googled my problem and the only thing I found was this: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19454265.aspx

I think that my problems with the touchpad started when I plugged a mouse into the USB port. It didn't work (it worked well before), and in material-sound-mouse control panel, the system asked me to uninstall a driver or other. I do not remember, but later the mouse worked.

After this weird thing with the mouse, I noticed that the touchpad was malfunctioning. While I write, the cursor moves without touching the touchpad, it is annoying because it makes me write bad because he is moving in the middle of writing, as I write so it's a mess.

The second oddity, the Fn + F3 does not disable the touchpad, the orange light come on (the led on the top of the touchpad), but the cursor can be moved in any case, with or without a connected mouse.

I checked for driver updates, perform an audit of the system, checked for viruses, spywares and I don't know what I could do. I don't know if the problem with the mouse had nothing to do with the function Fn + F3 problem.

I have not formatted or re installed windows 7, never.

In Device Manager I have this:

-mouse and other pointing devices:-Compatible PS/2 mouse

    Help, please. Thank you.

  • The touchpad scrolling does not work after upgrade to Windows 10

    Hello world

I used everything on my laptop Satellite uninstalled and reinstalled Windows 10.

    Now, toshiba applications disappeared.
    This isn't my problem.

My problem is that on my touchpad scrolling is not working.
Synaptics is gone and when I try to install a new driver (Touch Pad driver) it gives an error after installation.

Synaptics is installed accept for the uttilities mouch.

    Someone can help me.

    Greetings, Jiska

I don't know what model of laptop you have, but it turns out that not all series of phones are supported to win 10 upgrade.
In this case Win 10 drivers will not be released on such unit...

The touchpad scrolling requires additional touchpad driver...
If your device supports Synaptics touchpad, you can also use the driver for the Synaptics driver page:
    http://www.Synaptics.com/en/drivers.php

But currently driver to Win 10 is not available... you can try to install and to use the Win 8.1 driver but I'm not sure if it will work properly...

  • How to disable the touchpad in windows 8 - Pavilion g6

How to disable the touchpad in windows 8 - Pavilion g6

    Welcome to the forum, Sally.

There are several ways to do this - method you choose may depend on what you need to accomplish.

    Follow a few ideas.

    • A double tap farm in the upper left corner of the touch pad if it off for a single session.

    Enable / disable

Control Panel > display icon > mouse > Settings of TouchPad > click on "enable TouchPad.

They continue parameters to install and configure the TouchPad as you like it...

    ==========================================================================

A method that works with the pilots 'old', it is a failure of session by session...

Make sure this setting is ON / CHECKED:

Control Panel > display icon > mice > TouchPad [ClickPad] settings >

() repeat) TouchPad settings (button) > click tapping >

    Click the shimmering blue wheel

In "box to Disable TouchPad settings".

CHECK "Double Tap to activate / disable the TouchPad.

In the 'Action in the upper left'

CHECK "Disable the TouchPad during a session.

    Close

    Ok

NOTE that, if it is available on your version, you can select to "turn off the TouchPad" - that's fine, unless something goes wrong.  You could get stuck without your USB mouse AND no way to return to the setting to activate the touchpad.  I don't know if I would use this setting.

    ======================================================================================

    Next...
Latest drivers (V16.x) have the ability to disable the TouchPad / click on the keypad with a setting on the main page 'Settings' when a USB mouse is used.  This is a very nice feature.

Control Panel > display icon > mice > TouchPad [ClickPad] settings >

CHECK "disable the pointing device internal when the external USB pointing device is attached.

If you want to be alerted and see a visual cue of disability >

TICK "Animated icon in the taskbar" >

and make sure you have your updated task bar notifications so you can see the view of the mouse.

    =====================================================

    I hope this helps!

    Hello

Why you uninstalled this tool if you need?

In any case, for Windows 7, you need the added value package tool. After the new installation of VAP, the pad touch power button should work fine again.

    Check this box!
