Damages and errors: need to recover Windows 7 on dv6-3231nr

Hello people! Hoping I can get some tips for fixing this laptop - it is a mess!

I have a laptop dv6-3231nr out of warranty and has a damaged screen. Has been trampled or abandoned. Damage at the bottom left of the screen. I can do some things on the screen when it is running.

Unforunately it will not display the video on an external monitor using the VGA connection. I also tried the HDMI to view video on my TV and the TV displays the data of 'recovery' as it new, something has been connected, but he could not show the video using this connection as well.

Laptop starts at the BIOS and the test in BIOS hard drive error checking was able to finish even if I couldn't see what options and errors I had (all I could do was what he finished). Windows does not load and I get a blue screen error message with an error code that I can't completely make out because of damage to the screen and restarting the laptop just after error appears.

I don't have the original Windows HP recovery disk. I know I could probably order from HP, but I did not how much they cost. I couldn't find a link to order.

So, what do you think? The laptop likely there internal damage to the motherboard that prevents it from display external video via VGA/HDMI connections or would that be a software problem that would be fixed if I had to recover the operating system? In addition, how the HP Recovery/Windows 7 disc would cost me?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You can order your software/driver page HERE recovery media they are usually around $17.

You can also try the hard drive partition recovery tapping away to the F11 key, immediately after switching on. Not sure if you could get through the options here with visibility of the small screen.

You can also try the trick HERE by DavidPK burn a dvd of Windows 7. Yet once not sure how well would mean you through a facility complete with retail disk and damaged screen.

The only method I can think of requires imaging tools such as Acronis True Image (costs money). It allows to copy the recovery on the new disk partition. Maybe you can then use the appropriate keyboard key (such as published on the HP site) to start a process of restoration of the factory.

Received a message that my Garageband is damaged and I need to download it from the app store.  Never had an application to be damaged.  Is it current?  OSX 10.9.5 Garageband 10.0.2

Is the exact error message ""GarageBand.app is damaged and cannot be opened. " Delete Name.app and download it again from the App Store. »"  ?

The error message is caused by an expired certificate.  See: http://osxdaily.com/2015/11/12/fix-app-is-damaged-cant-be-opened-error-messages-en-mac-os-x /

    1. Restart the Mac, that alone may be sufficient to correct the problematic applications and remove the error message
    2. If a restart does not fix the app, delete the application (simply drag it to the trash and do not empty), then restart the Mac App Store and download the app again through the purchases tab or by searching for the app manually
    3. Reopen once affected applications, they should now work properly
  • Could not initialize and I need to recover the data on the hard drive.

Original title: computer MOM will not start and I need to recover the data on the hard drive.

It's an old computer and I do not know what version of Windows it was running.  I guess I need a bootdisk of exploitation, but where can I download that?  Or would it be easier to pull and make a secondary drive in my computer that I just replaced?  It works under Windows XP.

    Hello

If the old system does not start could be the hard drive. Put the hard drive in another computer as a 2nd drive and then access the files. If you use a computer XP, Vista or Windows 7, you should be able to access the files, unless the drive has failed.

You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer as a 2nd drive (better) or a USB external drive case and then save up to removable media such as CD, DVD or other USB drives. Of course a real store of the computer or the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files.

Or you can use a boot Ubuntu CD to back up data. (This will not work if the hard disk is defective or other issues preventing the system from booting from the CD/DVD drive.)

Use Ubuntu Live CD to backup files from your Windows computer dead

    Concerning

  • My Windows XP installation disc is damaged and I need a replacement

I just need a new disk or files so that I can create a new one, I DO NOT have a floppy drive so don't bother suggesting.

Just to add to the answer of Tommy, there is an old trick that sometimes you will get the drive to read long enough to get the files of it.

Get a pot of wax for furniture. Spray a small amount on the disk (on the opposite side of the label of course) then wipe is gently with a clean soft cloth. Immediately, place it in the cd/dvd rom and see if it will load. If this is the case, get your files fast. Simply click on edit > select all > still edit > copy. Place them in a folder on your desktop for convenience. If you are able to get the files after back and I'll tell you how to do a new Windows bootable disk.

  • Windows 7, re - install the new hard drive was a success, but I now get guests that it is not valid, and I need to buy Windows 7

From January 2013, after a series of about 13 automatic updates, Windows 7 hang in the boot process.  Using the repair function of the system on the Windows 7 installation disc, I was able to select a restore point at the beginning and Windows would be operated until I chose shutdown and updates would be automatically install 13 updates and then freeze at startup.  Finally, in a workaround, I would choose standby extended instead of shutdown until the system would break down after 10 days.    After going through this loop until the end of February, I bought a new hard drive and installed Windows 7 again.  I used the product key and the OEM ID on the back of my Acer Aspire 5253 - BZ849, but keep getting prompts is not valid.  How can I get this fixed WITHOUT PAYING for WINDOWS AGAIN!

The product key on the back label of the Acer PC is: * product key removed privacy * (initially, it has been accepted as valid.  Now I get guests that it is not and I have 22 days to activate.)  There is also a code in parentheses (X 16-96072), followed by 168-00196-149-361.

  • Emptied recycle bin and the need to recover

Oh no, I accidentally emptied my Recycle Bin and have deleted many files and pictures that I still need. Is there a way in which they can be recovered? Please, please can someone help me?

    On Wednesday, may 2, 2012 04:10:42 + 0000, John Marks wrote:

    Perhaps.

"Deleting" a file does not actually delete it marks just the space
also available to be used. There are third-party programs that can
sometimes recover deleted files. The problem is that the space used by
the file is likely to be replaced very quickly, and it makes
    the unrecoverable file.

So your chances of successfully recover this file are decent if you
Try it again immediately after the deletion of it and go quickly
downhill from there. If you have used the computer since then (for
example to write this question and read this answer), your chances may
    be very poor now.

But if the file is large enough, it's still worth a try. Stop
using the computer in question immediately, if you have not done
already. Download an undelete program (and here's one:)
    http://www3.TELUS.NET/mikebike/restoration.html but there are several
others to choose from; Do a search) on a friend's computer (do not
it on yours because that would overwrite the files you want
Undelete) and bring it to you on a CD or thumb drive to try.

If that fails, your only recourse is to bring or send the disc
a company of professional file recovery. This kind of service is very
expensive and may or may not work in your case.

  • When I'm not on my computer, the network disconnects, and I need to reboot Windows XP to run again.

original title: it is a boot sector virus

Please no one knows the answer?

I use MSE on XP. Have all implemented the automatic updates firewall that all fixed at a fairly high level of security, and to update and scan with MSE usually twice a day. When I'm not using the computer I disconnect the network and reconnect when then necessary safety precaution.

Sometimes, when I return to the computer is not found on the network, and the only way to restore the network connection is to re-boot. Then, I find it almost impossible to re-start as he died within 5 seconds after pressing the power button / stop. I tried holding the power button for a few seconds, but nothing helps I just keep on pushing sometimes for dozens of attempts and it stops automatically turn off the power. He intercepted not eventually if I keep on pressing him for dozens and dozens of attempts. It is?, is it a virus of a description, and if this is what and how is he riding in, on and why is MSE does not pick up.   I had similar situations where the IP address of my printer (Ricoh Aficio) has been changed, then turn off the printer and thrusting me on an audit of the laborious systems. ?.  Anyone has any ideas.

    Thank you very much

    Bob.

PS Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all.

Of course, it sounds as if you use the power button on the computer case.  Otherwise, good.

Then, I find it almost impossible to re-start as he died within 5 seconds after pressing the power button / stop. I tried holding the power button for a few seconds, but nothing helps I just keep on pushing sometimes for dozens of attempts and it stops automatically turn off the power. I guess that until you're away from the computer, disconnect from the network.  Even if you don't have the computer off, disconnect is still excessive.  However, if you do this, Windows should not bother you that you describe.

During your absence, the computer go to sleep or Hibernate mode (if so, which) or have you configured it stays on indefinitely until you deliberately shut down?  If the computer is set to go into sleep or Hibernate mode after a certain period, you have the same problem reconnecting to the network if you return before the computer is spent in sleep mode or Hibernate mode?

You have Service Pack 3 and the subsequent critical updates installed (for example, you use automatic updates)?

The next time the problem occurs, open the event viewer (start > run > eventvwr > OK) and look in the Application logs and system errors or warnings.  By default, when you open the log event viewer must be sorted with the most recent events at the top.  If not, click the title once (or twice) of the column to sort.  He can't go very far back to find questions.  If there is an error or a warning, double-click it to display the property page.  Then click on the copy icon (right underneath the up/down arrows).  Then paste in your response here.

You have your router configured to disable the SSID broadcast?  Even if it sometimes seems on Web sites for safety, it does not add to your safety really but creates network problems.  Do not disable the SSID broadcast, especially for Windows XP machines.  See http://blogs.technet.com/b/steriley/archive/2007/10/16/myth-vs-reality-wireless-ssids.aspx as this article points out, also not use MAC filtering in your router.

Another thing that might cause problems of reconnection (especially if you have your router's SSID broadcast disabled) is a connection to a nearby unsecured wireless network.  You should look through the list of preferred networks tab in wireless network your wireless adapter properties dialog box, and 'Delete' you don't want to connect to all networks.  To get here, open network connections (start > run > ncpa.cpl > OK), right click on the wireless adapter and choose Properties.  Then go to the wireless networks tab.

Even if you have properties of the adapter wireless open dialog box, select your network from the list of preferred networks and click Properties. Then click on the tab 'connection '.  What is the box checked for automatically "connect if this network is in range"?

Finally, in regards to your printer, it is a recommended practice to configure devices like printers have a static IP address instead of the obtain an IP address from the DHCP server on the router.  As you have observed, in some circumstances (the printer is off for awhile), the router can assign a different IP address for the router than he had when you first set up the things.  Some wireless printer drivers (HP, for example) are smart enough to deal with this, but most is not.

Read the manual of your Ricoh printer to determine how to assign a static IP address.  Pick one that is in the same subnet (i.e., the first 3 bytes of the IP address are the same as your other IP addresses), but out of the interval used by the DHCP server on your router.  You can find this information from the router configuration utility.

For example, the DHCP server on my Linksys router is configured to assign not more 10 starting at 192.168.1.100 IP addresses.  Which means that the first computer to connect will get 192.168.1.100, the second 192.168.1.101 and so on.  So I configured my wireless printers to have a static IP address that is lower than, for example 192.168.1.50.

After you set up the printer, click Start > printers and faxes.  Right-click on your printer, and then select Properties.  Click the Ports tab.  Already, the correct port must be selected.  Click on Configure Port.  OK your way out and enter IP address static, that you assigned to the printer.

    Hello

You don't say how you are trying to install XP and if the manufacturer of your computer has XP drivers available for this purpose to activate XP to be installed and run successfully on this subject.

You will need to go to their website where there should be a section to see if they have XP drivers for your model computer.

If they have XP drivers available for it, follow the instructions in these links provided in its response to dual boot Vista and XP:

  • My Firefox synced the 'wrong way' and I need to recover my favorites.

Wednesday, I opened Firefox on my computer WORK (PC) after a long hiatus and he recommended I update Firefox since I hadn't used in a while. He said he would preserve all my bookmarks, etc.. Did, everything was fine.

Yesterday I logged Firefox on my computer (Mac) and then a minute later my bookmarks toolbar very detailed began to change and missing tons of bookmarks and seems completely / different disorganized. I myself am connected on Firefox sync hoping this would look again my WORK computer, but it did not.

Today, I'm back on my WORK computer. I logged in sync since I assume that the Wednesday update disconnected me. And now my WORK computer resembles the same mess as my HOME computer bookmark. I wanted to sync the reverse - make my look of HOME computer as my WORK computer!

How can I recover my favorites and that to happen?
    Thank you!

You can disconnect Sync and restore bookmarks from a backup in the folder bookmarkbackups.

    Any help would be appreciated

    > I wonder if I use the recovery disk will I lose all my data, photographs and documents?
Unfortunately, Yes. The recovery would be to format the whole HARD drive and would erase the partitions too.
I recommend starting the Live CD WinPE and BartPE. (use google)

These are Boot CD. This will start Notepad with Windows operating system environment that allows you to access the data on the HARD drive.
Then, you can back up important data, and can then use the recovery disk to reinstall new OS.

A few months ago, my computer (HP Pavilion a6700f) decided that he no longer wanted to live. The hard drive is corrupted and I could never get anything from him. I tried many ways, sent him, put it in another computer... it is as if there is never nothing about it initially. (Sad because I stupidly did not save my content). I have come to terms with her being gone, and I'm now looking to reinstall and start over.

I tried to run the install disc and it won't go to the point where she wants to give me drivers... my question is, because I had updated the computer to its original operating system Vista to Windows 7 when they offered the free update, I have to reinstall windows Vista, and then upgrade again? Or it will allow me to install drivers windows 7? Also, is there somewhere where I can download the installation for my specific computer disks? I used the upgrade disk to reinstall, but he wants than signed drivers.

I know that sounds a little crazy, but I want to fix it than to buy a new HARD drive. I have my windows for Vista key... Although I don't know if there was another key for the upgrade to Windows 7, as on the package or something... like I did that more.

I hope this makes sense to someone! Thanks in advance!

As you have no recovery disk, you will have to order them from service to HP customers in your country if they are still available for a nominal charge:

If you decide to replace the hard drive, to have one that is not less than 500 GB SATA 7200 RPM like the one you have now.
