'Data controls' in "Application Navigator" are hidden

Hello

I got a new computer (Windows Vista) yesterday and I was installing JDeveloper 11 g TP3 on it. The problem is: I can't find the "Data controls" box more. He went. In the application of "navigation" I can only find 'Projects' and 'recently opened. I already checked if the "Data controls" box is reduced to a minimum.

Is there a way to change this? Anyone who has ever run into similar problems?

Thanks in advance
Brahim

One thing to check is with the role that you started JDeveloper - you must use the default role to have active ADF.
(check under Tools-> Preferences-> role) - If you started with another test of role the role - switching is it still didn't help - remove the JDeveloper system directory and restart.

    Fixed it :)
    I had to put the following parameter: IntradocServerPort = 4444

    When I ran my program I saw results in my table. Also, I do not see the warning...

    I used the search instead of getItems operation.
    I need to set the path to "/" and recursive to true in order to see the results in my table.

    When I use the getItems operation and set the path to "/" and run the file, I get a single record with the record of the contribution.

    I notice in your links, you use links to set the path, so I think you want the user to go through the files and update the list when the user selects a folder, correct?

    To test your connection, set the path in your links to the getItems operation to / instead to your EL expression.
    If you have a result, that there is something wrong with your logic. If you do not see a result, there is something else wrong.

    This is how you would normally import into Windows Live Mail. If all goes well it will give you enough of a jump start.

    Copy the * ENTIRE * OE message store folder to a flash drive. (Folders.dbx must be included). Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail.

  • Impossible to obtain the data controls to display the browser of the application

    I installed JDeveloper version 11.1.2.3.0 on a Workstation Windows 7 (SP1). Once installed, I decided to try the [get started with the JDeveloper IDE | http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18941_01/tutorials/jdtut_11r2_50/jdtut_11r2_50.html]. After you have created "MyFirstApplication" I noticed that I couldn't see the accordion of data controls, as shown in the example. I decided to ignore it and continue with the rest of the tutorial, hoping he could enlighten us. No chance and ran into other problems that surround the stage 13, when I could not create a managed bean as illustrated in the example.

    So I went back to the first problem of the accordion of missing data control, suspecting that this may be part of the problem. I searched and found several issues here in the discussion that resembled the may be solutions to the problem and tried them all:
    (1) remove the system11.1.2.3.39.62.76.1 directory and restart JDeveloper = > nothing helped, still missing data controls
    (2) uninstall all versions of Oracle Middleware installed on the PC, removal of the JDeveloper user directories, restart and reinstall only the version 11.1.2.3.0 (there was also an old 11.1.1.4 version installed) == > didn't help, still missing data controls
    (3) made a new software download where jdevstudio11123install.exe has been altered somehow. Repeated step 2 = > nothing helped, still missing data controls

    I'm pretty much running out of options now, is there any other mystical step I missed that can work?
    I feel, I'm not the first to experience this problem, but I can't find a solution with the search function of this forum.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Try to open up JDeveloper from the terminal and see if there are errors. Also in the screenshot, I don't see that you have all the projects exposing DataControls, so create a java class and right-click on it, create a DataControl and see if this stage support the feature.

    Hello.

    I had a problem where I get the following exception:

    oracle.jbo.NoDefException: Houston-25058: groupLabel of definition of the attribute type is not found in ViewDefgroups3_254.

    Here is the description:

    With the help of:

    12.1.3 JDev (Build JDEVADF_12.1.3.0.0_GENERIC_140521.1008.S).

    JDK 1.7.0_79

    In my application I have XSD which was used to generate the content model (next classes of java: Project.java (as the main class of the model), GroupsType.java, ThemeType.java).

    Data control was created on this model (POJO data control).

    When I was creating a data control I also create wrapper class (for additional functions) - ProjectWrapper.

    Created data control has the following structure:

    ProjectWrapper:

    attributes of the project

    groups (collection):

    group attributes of

    themes (collection):

    attributes of theme

    After I did drag GROUPS onto the page and create trees that have the following structure (lets call it groupsTree):

    groups:

    groupLabel

    themes:

    themeLabel

    In pageDef there are:

    < Tree IterBinding = "groupsIterator" id = "groups" >

    < nodeDefinition DefName = "ru.project.GroupsType" Name = "groups0" > "

    < AttrNames >

    < item Value = "groupLabel" / >

    < / AttrNames >

    < accessors >

    < item Value = "themes" / >

    < / accessors >

    < / nodeDefinition >

    < nodeDefinition DefName = "ru.project.ThemeType" Name = "groups" path1 = TargetIterator"${bindings.themesIterator}" > "

    < AttrNames >

    < item Value = "themeLabel" / >

    < / AttrNames >

    < / nodeDefinition >

    < / tree >

    I also add:

    < action IterBinding = "groupsIterator" id = "ExecuteGroups" InstanceName = "ru.project.ProjectTypeWrapper.groups" "

    DataControl = "ProjectTypeWrapper" RequiresUpdateModel = "true" Action = "iteratorExecute" / >

    After starting my application, load the XML data in the content model and executes the ExecuteGroups action.

    In the application page all items that show the project attributes are filled with data.

    but when he goes to make application groupsTree throws the exception mentioned above.

    Interesting thing here that when I recreate the data control in the class of the project (without using the wrapper class).

    application works very well without any exception.

    Any ideas why this happened?

  • With the help of AMPA on non - WS Data Controls

    Hello community MAF .

    I'm developing an Application of MAF that consumes the REST API of WebCenter portal (which is based on the model of HATEOAS).

    I want to make powerful from scratch, including the following:

    -Offline mode (using the SQLite).

    -Persistence, of setting cache and synchronization using AMPA.

    Looks like it's not easier to apply directly on the REST API of WCP AMPA.

    The REST API of WCP is the result of a call of two steps:

    1) authenticate using BASIC authentication against http://Host/repos/api/resourceIndex for the utoken

    (2) use utoken as the URL parameter for the next call of REST for the specific service.

    I know that the Bus Service could be a possibility on the creation of a more simple REST on the WCP REST API, but is not an option right now because that is not easy to map.

    My questions are:

    (1) can we use AMPA on data controls in Java that will call internally to (DB in case of offline mode, REST by program in the case of online mode).

    (2) can define us manually in the persistenceMapping.xml?

    (3) is there anything else more easy to use wizards with HATEOAS base based Services?

    Thanks in advance

    Kind regards.

    Daniel,

    Why is it not service bus an option? You say 'not easy to map', but do the mapping in the MAF makes it not easier, it? the REST API of pressurization is not very easy to mobile, so this transformation to a more usable by using bus service API cost as a good idea for me. See also this article from the A-team.

    Answers to your questions:

    (1) Yes, this is the added value of nucleus of AMPA. You get a service generated the DTC Assistant classes, then you turn this class in a bean data control and use this data control bean for the construction of your user interface. The service class will access local DB and the service REMAINS remote. By default, AMPA will directly show the current data of the local DB, and then in the background call the REST service (online) and refresh the UI, once the REST call has been processed. But this behavior is very configurable and can be changed as you wish.

    (2) Yes, of course, you can manually create data objects, classes of service and persistence mappings, but the wizard is generally much faster.

    (3) HATEOAS logical not for the dynamics of UI where the next action is determined by a link returned in the payload. It is a different model from the static of the UI we build in general with MAF. What is your problem with the help of the wizard of the AMPA?

  • Failed to add data to an application

    Hi ~

    I meet a problem in the studio of discovery short, my discovery workshop, the "Add a data set" button or "add records" option will disappear under data set. Although still able to create points of view, but is no longer able to add several sets of data which is very annoying, I essentially have to re - create the application again. It seems happens whenever someone does some work for export in the side ETL at my request. Anyone who has seen a similar question and maybe share with me? Any ideas would be useful. Thank you.

    Yes, this is how it works.

    The thing to remember is that each application is associated with a single domain of short server data. When you ingest data using Integrator, you create the data domain, use the short servers page in the control panel to make it available in the Studio, then select as the source of data for your application. Other users can also create applications using this same data area.

    When you create an application from a worksheet, Studio creates a new field of data and assigns it to the application. This type of data field cannot be used to create other applications.

    The basic assumption is that a field of data created using Integrator/ETL (sometimes referred to as 'curated data') is managed/controlled/made available by a COMPUTER group, which would be non-random users, adding data from their Excel spreadsheets.

    Areas of data created using a spreadsheet (sometimes referred to as the "self-service") belong to this user. Anyone can change the application can add more data from other worksheets.

  • Question WebService data persistence data control

    Hello

    We use a Web Service data on two pages jspx for application control. The control of data attributes are added on the two pages as data binding.

    Scenario: we submit certain data from page 1 using the web service data and go to page 2. Fill in some data on page 2 and again to apply for the data Web Service and after successful response control back page 1. Same thing repeats again and again for this scenario.

    Now the question is, submit us data of page 1, move to Page2, submit some data of page 2 and return to page 1. If repeat us this process, while presenting data on page 1, the data that we presented earlier on Page2 also get submitted, should not. We want only to present data according to the link on this page. Page1 is unlimited taskflow and Page2 is in the stubborn taskflow.

    We tried setting values as: CacheResults: false on iterator, refresh condition: Ifneeded, UsePersistentStructure to false, the control data. Also tried to reset and turn off data using the API and resetInputState on the links. But nothing works. The only method that works is ClearForRecreate on iterator Page1. But since internal its method, it might not be good to use. Also, after the use of this tells us to receive intermittent error indicating AttributeList$ IRB cannot be cast to a string and exception argument is not an array a few times.

    Please let me know, how I can ensure that the correct data are sent to the data control for the web service.

    With the help of JDev 11.1.1.6.

    Thank you

    Solved by removing the option of data relating to the shares in taskflow control.

    Thank you

  • Control of application or database sequence?

    What are the advantages and disadvantages to allow the database insert PK values using a database sequence vs let the application control?

    There are situations where it is better to let the application do?

    Rinne says:
    What are the advantages and disadvantages to allow the database insert PK values using a database sequence vs let the application control?

    There are situations where it is better to let the application do?

    I guess it might depend on the nature of the application and the nature of the PK.

    That said, if something absolutely positiviely must be in a row, I don't like depending on an application (errors) to do. And don't forget that not all access to data is controlled by the application.

    After re-reading of your topic (which explicitly mentions the sequences) vs your text (which was a little more General on PK), I had absolutely say the advantage of having to fill with a sequence (via a trigger) vs PB expects the app the PK do is that you can not count on the app Apps tend to be misleading, and the app is not the only access to the database.

  • AF:query with web services data control

    Hi all

    I'm very new to using web services as a data source in the ADF. I'm looking to use a component of af: query (with saved searches and advanced mode) with a web service data control.

    The doc - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24382_01/web.1112/e16182/appendix_datacontrols.htm#CHDGBBIJ - it seems that there is some programmatic application necessary to achieve this goal. I guess that means that you are required to implement a custom QueryModel and related classes. My understanding is correct?

    Is there a sample (or documentation) available for this application? I searched the web but can't find anything useful.

    Note: For the purpose of learning, I just exposed service interface of the Module of an Application as a web service remote. The web service has my view exposed as an operation criteria.

    Thanks in advance,
    Bruno Guillaume

    Hello

    the query component does not work out of the box with the DataControl WS that it does not support the named criteria (which will be for a long time in the future). To create a request form, you can drag a WS method as a parameter. If the method has arguments of complext, you will find the complex argument that manufacturers in the Panel DataControl, so you can flatten by drag and drop in the form of parameter

  • Demand feature - when dragging data control form ADF to jsf

    Hello, I would suggest that when you drag and drop the data control to create, say a form of the ADF, the navigation controls 'understand' is set by default to Yes. It is easy to forget to click this box, and there is a lot of work to drag all these operations if you forgot to click on it. If the controls were lacking to land on the page with the form of the ADF and you don't want them, it's very easy to remove them from the page.

    Thank you! New versions of Jdeveloper are really good.

    Hello

    If you have forgotten the navigation bar, just reselect the object of the view and choose Navigation | ADF Navigation buttons on the shortcut menu. With this option, I think that the current default value is better that what you propose - do you agree?

  • How to control the call to a data control using the portlet parameter

    Hello

    I use a web service data control in my portlet application. I would like to know if there is a way where in the data control will not be called when the portlet is responsible, unless the portlet parameter is specified.

    Thanks in advance!
    Rian

    You are right.

    It is an example of a classic which I use as a data control:

    public class UserDataControl {

      private UserService_Service user_service;
      private UserService us;

        public UserDataControl() {
            super();
            user_service = new UserService_Service();
            us = user_service.getUserServicePort();
        }

        public List getUserList(String company) {
          List list = us.retrieveUserList(company);
            System.out.println(list.size());
             return list;
        }
    }

    The proxy in my case has been generated in UserService_Service.
    This class is used as a datacontrol so my datacontrol will be a setting for the company, as you can see in the getUserList.
    You can check if the parameter is null, then returnn an empty list or so.

    It's very simple, when you are in the application that has your view layer, have to drop-> open and locate the jpr for your EJB project file.
    This will open the project and add it to your application.
    Then you can go in for your project to view preferences and under dependencies set up a relationship between the projects.
