  • Contradictory information about Apple vs. HP drivers for Snow Leopard

It seems to be conflicting information about the software for Snow Leopard for the HP OfficeJet 6210.

An entry claims that the software of the printer is included in Snow Leopard.

Another entry offers the "HP Officejet full feature software and drivers for Mac OS X 10.6".

What is the configuration of the correct software for this computer AIO on Snow Leopard?

I've seen this a few times, try the following steps.

    1. go in/Library/Printers/hp/Frameworks/and delete "HPSmartX.framework".
    2. run the update of the software (it should prompt to install HP Printer Drivers update 2.3) go through the installation.
    3. When you have finished, try to rerun the software update.

I'm not saying to ignore updates.  Please post your result.

  • Perils of update for Snow Leopard

I have an early 2009, core 2 duo 2.66 ghz running 10.6.8.  People tell me that Snow Leopard is the latest really stable os than apple is putting out, but I would like to upgrade.

With can the upgrade of the system how I go?  I know that El Capitan is out, but the MAvericks would be ok?

What are the problems could I meet if I leave Snow Leopard?  Breaks down?  Slowdowns?

    Thank you

    Welcome to Apple Support communities

If your product is correct (this means that you have an iMac early 2009), you can go as far as OS X El Capitan.

If you look in the Internet, you will probably see a lot of people complain about performance issues with modern versions of OS X I have been using OS X for Mac OS X Snow Leopard, and I have no problem with any OS X version. Moreover, I consider OS X El Capitan as one of the most stable versions, even in older computers (I am running it on a late 2009 iMac, which is similar to your computer).

You shouldn't be too worried about accidents or slow, but more on the compatibility of the application. Old apps is not compatible with OS X El Capitan (for example, Mac OS X Snow Leopard is the last version that supports PowerPC applications), so first check that all your applications are supported. Their update to the latest version available is a way, but there are Web sites that allow you to check that, as RoaringApps-> http://roaringapps.com

Apart from this, make a backup of your entire system before the upgrade. In doing so, you'll be able to format your Mac, to reinstall OS X and restore what you want in case of accidents or poor performance, so your Mac will run correctly.

  • Update for Snow Leopard to El captain? Should I do it? (Loss of iphoto organization a big concentration)

I have an imac of all about 2010 with 2.93 GHz and intel Core i7.  I've been under Snow Leopard since day 1! I've been reluctant to upgrade because of the reviews on the new OS every year and now I'm way behind, but snow leopard ran flawlessly for me so why I kept for so long, but I think I should take the step now.  One of my BIGGEST concerns is to lose iphoto (I've arranged in folders and albums, and I don't want to lose this Organization!). Has anyone taken this step to upgrade this old operating system? I'm even able to upgrade directly to El captain in Snow Leopard? And how will this affect my organization "iphoto" penetrating "photos"? Any info or links or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

You will find bad reviews on all OS for each platform, because you can't please everyone.

Yes, you can go directly to El Capitan, as long as you have Mac OS X 10.6.8.

You don't have to use Photos, you can continue to use iPhoto, as long as you have version 9.6.1.

You should always make a backup before doing any update most of the OS.

  • Dremweaver for Snow Leopard

I would like to know if Dreamweaver CS6 is still available for download? I just upgraded my Leopard to Snow Leopard and I want to download Dreamweaver but I can't find it on the net. Do you guys know any link where I could download it? Thank you in advance!

    Available downloadable Setup files:

Help download and installation to Prodesigntools links can be found on the most linked pages.  They are essential; especially steps 1, 2 and 3.  If you click on a link that does not have these listed steps, open a second window by using the link to Lightroom 3 to see these "important Instructions".

  • Copy and paste broken in GoLive CS for Snow Leopard

    Hi all

Since I've upgraded to Snow Leopard, we weirdness happening within GoLive CS with respect to the copy and the function passed. He took a while to unravel everything that was happening, but here's the gist: If you paste text anywhere in the GL - one link in the link, the code or the text on a page palette - starting by selecting another text to be replaced, then trying to stick above with what exists in the Clipboard - the strangest thing happens. There is no visible change to the text highlighted, but it--and not the text to your Clipboard - are now "copied". That was in the Clipboard is now replaced by the text you want to replace. Argh!

The only solution is to always delete old text before pasting - never try to 'cover '.

As I say, I have not noticed that since I've upgraded to Snow Leopard. Since then, I've just adjusted to the situation since this happens nowhere else and I won't upgrade my suite Adobe in the foreseeable future - he meets my needs in all other respects.

But I'm surprised not to find any mention of him in the forums here, especially after all this time. Assuming that it's to do with interaction between GL CS and SL, I would have thought that there is a patch or something now.

    Anyone facing this problem?

    Adam

Adobe won't pull a patch for an abandoned program, especially an old as CS. There were two issues from this one.

Snow Leopard has incompatibilities with many programs (not only GoLive) that took place in previous systems. You'll find maybe less surprised by running your previous operating system.

I have a HP Officejet 5510, which is (about 5 years) worked flawlessly on Leopard

Surprised to have just upgraded to discover that it's not supported (should have checked the forums or is it for a)

Do we have an answer as to whether this printer will be supported?

Not shown as a printer taken currently supported

    http://support.Apple.com/kb/HT3669#HP

    Apple recommend checking with HP

Don't really want to buy a new printer (especially since I have a lot of spare ink cartridges - which has probably cost more than the printer.)

    Thank you

The new drivers Officejet 5510 downloaded from here:

I'm under Fusionware version 1.1.3 of the virtual machine with Windows XP as the host operating system.

Could upgrade to Version 2.0.5 of VM Fusionware help or y at - it another way to solve this problem and avoid the loss of data / program files?

Thanks a lot for your help

I think 2.0.5 is the first version to offer support for Snow Leopard (ie. This is the first that works) but support is still experimental (that is to say you might have some problems)

I therefore move to 2.0.5 and see how you go, you certainly won't get a 1.x version to work.

  • Using Snow Leopard 10.6.8

    Hi Gang

In what concerns a friend MA877LL iMac update to 'Maverick' and having many gels and other pending issues, I'm going to reformat and return to Snow Leopard. Note that this person uses not all professional applications of any kind. She would like to go back and use the mail program and the version of Safari initially provided with this iMac about 9 year.

It has all the original disks and save anything necessary.

I'm quite familiar with the process of reformatting but have a few questions about 10.6.8:

Considering that Apple takes more support for Snow Leopard, there are still many people out there who are satisfied using 10.6.8. I just want to know if there are questions of possible "Head Up" as for safety, Safari, e-mail within 10.6.8 client or something else?

Y at - it an available (in 10.6.8) update of Safari , which could add a security if it's a problem? Or maybe install Mozilla for Mac would be beneficial somehow?

    Thank you!

    Mike

Currently, there are now a large number of sites that require new versions of Safari. This requires the upgrade of OS X, which is not possible with some 2007 models: iMac (mid-2007 or newer) - model identifier 7.1 or later. To find the identifier of the model open system information in the Utilities folder. It is displayed in the Panel on the right.

If erase you the drive, you will need to install Snow Leopard in order to further improve. This means that it must have a copy of the retail DVD of Snow Leopard. If it is that: you can buy Snow Leopard at the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (US). The price is $ 19.99 plus tax. You will receive a physical media by mail after placing your order.

After the installation of Snow Leopard you will need to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Combo Update v1.1 update Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store.

It can download El Capitan or Mavericks. The Mavericks can be found in the purchase page of the App Store, where she is the re - download. El Capitan would be a new download.

Please see the following: basic steps for the OS X upgrade, How to install or reinstall OS X on your Macor upgrade to OS X El Capitan.

  • Officejet Pro L 7680 problems after update drivers from leopard to snow leopard

Updated to Snow Leopard from Leopard on Mac Pro with 4 HD and 12 GB of RAM.

Follow the instructions in the Web site for the upgrade to the new driver from HP.  When I click on the HP utility now I get the error message:

"Incompatible components - some components installed on your computer have been developed for a different version of the HP utility. These components will not be loaded and some features related to your device won't be available. Please click on HP assistance point in the toolbar to visit the online HP Support site and download the latest versions of the HP software. "Some features do not appear in the HP utility, including scan functions.

Followed the instructions to the letter.  No mention of deleting the HP files in the library.  Would this sole the problem?  Receive information on how to get rid of the old version and install the new one driver version. Thanks, Araya

    Hi Araya,

5 follow the uninstall to prompt to select a device to uninstall
    6. press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Cmd keys on the keyboard at the same time as you click on uninstall

    3. double-click on disk utility.
