Date format of messages is absolutely ugly

Hi all.

I'm really frustrated format of date/time of Messages on my iPhone6 (and also on my OS - X).

What the main reason for the use of the words 'Today', 'Yesterday', 'Saturday' and other?

Who need this lyrical sh * t? All my friends is also frustrated by this function, because if you need a specific date for the quote or shipping screen, you will need to do a lot of unnecessary travel.

I mean - if you want to find something and need to translate "what the date was Saturday?", you need to go to calendar and look here, what date was Saturday.

Apple !

Please, I beg you! Make this switchable feature!

This date format looks like completely unnecessary and useless decoration.

Simply return the precise date.

p.s. this message angry wrote after a misunderstanding with screenshots attached in the e-mail Messages.

iOS version: 9.3.3

    Hi Allan,

    Just had a look at this takeover bid 10.1 on my machine.

    I noticed that for an attribute date as on a screen, when you use Input type = Year, Month and Day edits (in the file screens), it seems to display the three drop-down lists in the same order (day, month, year), regardless of what's been defined in the configuration line "input-date-formats" in messages. file .properties (locale).

    However, I was not sure of your email if the DD-MON-YYYY format was necessary for the entriesto date, or just for the display of date output. If the latter, then using the following in your messages. (place) .properties file...

    output-date-format = yyyy-MMM-dd

    ... will translate dates displayed like this: 1980-Jan-27

    To force the OWD to accept only dates of entry of user in the format '1980-Jan-27' then you can edit the line input-date-formats of configuration:

    input-date-formats = yyyy-MMM-dd

    ... However, it is rare to restrict the dates of entry into a single format. As you will see in the messages. (locale) .properties file entry-date-formats is set to a combination of common entry to the regional settings date formats, in addition to the ISO international date format (YYYY-MM-DD, e.g. 1980-01-27).

    See you soon,.

    I want just the records where NumDays > 2

    ORA-01931: Date format picture ends before converting all of the input string

    I don't know how to put the two dates in the same format.  I tried to declare the format without result.  I don't understand how I can calculate in the selection, but do not use the same calculation in Where clause.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello

    SQL is a language to describe the desired results.  How the system gets these results belongs to you don't have much say about which conditions will be applied when.

    One place where you can control the order of things is a CASE expression.  When you say

    CASE

    WHEN condition_1

    THEN expression_1

    END

    You can be sure that expression_1 will be evaluated only when cond_1 is set to TRUE.

    Try something like this:

    WITH got_sent_date AS

    (

    SELECT id_number, date_received

    CASE

    WHEN the TRANSLATION (SUBSTR (id_number, 1, 6)

    , 'x' 0123456789 '.

    , 'x'

    ) IS NULL

    THEN TO_DATE (SUBSTR (id_number, 1-6)

    , "YYMMDD".

    )

    END AS sent_date

    FROM MyTable

    WHERE (id_number, 7, 3) SUBSTR ("ABC", "ABD")

    )

    SELECT id_number

    date_received

    sent_date

    , date_received - sent_date AS num_days

    OF got_sent_date

    WHERE date_received > sent_date + 2

    ;

    If you would care to post some sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements) and the results desired from this data, I was able to test this.

    Of course, you'll still errors of execution if id_number starts with 6 digits, but they do not have to be valid, for example '131100' or '130229'.  This is one of the reasons why the date information storage in VARCHAR2 columns are a bad idea.  To work around this problem, see

  • varchar2 to the date format conversion

    I have converted the formats of date several times, but for some reason, I get an error invalid number when you try to convert a varchar2 column. If the column is a DATE, then it has the same format that all DATEs, which is nothing like 'DD-MON-YYYY '. Formats like which apply only to chains.
    Conversely, if it is in the format "DD-MON-YYY", then it is a string, not a DATE.

    but I want to change to DD/MM/YYYY. My query is below:

    Select to_date('fccpdate','MM/DD/YYYY')
    of cc_class_scmast_v

    To_date (x, "MM/DD/YYYY") tries to convert the string x in a DATE. Let's say it starts by taking the first 2 characters of x, for the month. The first 2 characters of 'fccpdate' are "fc", which is not a valid number (at least not in base 10), not to mention a number from 1 to 12, TO_DATE so will raise an error.

    When I try to_date I get this:

    Error from the 1 in the command line:
    Select TO_DATE ('fccpdate ',' MON-DD-YYYY "") of cc_class_scmast_v, where fccpdate IS NOT NULL

    * Cause:
    * Action:

    I tried to remove the single quotes of my column and that does make a difference. Any help is appreciated.

    It's a good first step. Literals are enclosed in single quotes are not identifiers (including the column names). "fccpdate" is the literal string of 8 characters containing 'f', ' c; Another 'c', 'p' 'd', 'a', 't' and 'e'. " fccpdate (without the single quotes) can be the name of a column.

    If fccpdate is a string, as July 18, 2012', then you can convert it to a DATE using TO_DATE.

    TO_DATE (fccpdate, 'DD-MON-YYYY')

    If you want to display a DATE in a particular format, use

    TO_CHAR ( d
            , f
            )

    where d is a DATE, and f is the format string. In this case, d is perhaps the TO_DATE expression above

    TO_CHAR ( TO_DATE (fccpdate, 'DD-MON-YYYY')
            , 'MM/DD/YYYY'
            )

    I hope that answers your question.
    If not, post a small example data (CREATE TABLE and only relevant columns, INSERT statements) for all of the tables involved and also publish outcomes from these data.
    Explain, using specific examples, how you get these results from these data.

  • Cannot use yyyyMmmdd as date format

    Hi all
    We are at the OPA/OPM 10.2

    I would use a format such as date 2011 Sep 07 on a determination of web
    It worked for me in Phase 1 with an earlier version of OPA, but now we are in Phase 2

    My modules has a GB
    My messages.en - GB.properties file has a line
    entry-date-formats: yyyyMmmdd
    and
    format-release date: yyyyMmmdd

    No work, as well as variations such as yyyy-Mmm-DD yyyyMMMdd
    It still requires the format dd/mm/yyyy

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you
    Allan

    For OPA 10.2 or later version, it is the region setting in the project which determines the formatting of dates, not the language. For this reason, the settings that were previously in every file of properties of messages are now supported only in the application.properties file, as this setting overrides the regional settings in the form of virtual machine JAVA or .NET framework.

    You can consult the section "Files of Configuration Web determinations" in aid of the OPA 10.3 Developer:

    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/HTML/E24274_01/content/technical%20Reference/Config_Files.htm

    BTW the "yyyyMmmdd" format is not sensible. It displays the date ISO '2011-09-08"as"201190008"because"mm"refers to the minutes (see http://download.oracle.com/javase/1.5.0/docs/api/java/text/SimpleDateFormat.html). Assuming you want it to be registered and indicated as '2011 Sep 08' then the format should be "yyyyMMMdd.

    I have not used this tag, in surfing, I got this.

    Creation date generated by the system of the PDF document. You can specify a string of text with the action of setInfo.

  • How to advocate for regional change of short date format

    This is something relatively trivial but annoying all the same, but I don't know where to go to advocate for change.

    Have just updated for Sierra and one of the first things I notice is the addition of a point at the end of the month in short date format, i.e. 'September 19, 2016'.

    "In Australia, as in the United Kingdom, the standard must not use this period - it should be just'19 Sep 2016", and in the past, that's how it appeared in OSX for the Australia. Don't know why the change.

    This abbreviation is not replaceable by the user, so where can I go to provide appropriate feedback and I hope to have this problem on the track?

    A solution is to make my default language and region of the United Kingdom, but do not know if there is a price to pay for it.

    You can provide feedback to Apple asking them to change it:

    HEY Chi - Lun,

    I don't think that this is possible as many number format. You should be able to insert A in a text string using a formula, but this would happen in a second cell, not that the number has been entered.

    "Assuming all the"numbers require the same inserted letter after the second number, this should do the work."number" entered in column A; the formula in column B. In the table below, your value as an example is A6.

    = Left (A, 2) & "A" & RIGHT (A, LEN (A) - 2)
