  I got stuck on "ODI scheduling" getting on the truck. The problem is that I couldn't set up correctly (to the best of my knowledge) the agent. Well, not exectly... I could run manually the loading procedure (a bunch of interfaces)... well... when I tried to program this loading... I failed. referring to the documentation... I should install Oracle Web tier utility 11.1.1.2.0 and 11.1.1.3.0 (patch). This fine... but I could download only 11.1.1.7.0 (the latest version till now) and that's OK, since by my support, it has all the characteristics of slender and features.

  Then, another problem with odiparams.bat odi_opmn_addagent.bat and agentcreate.properties.

  For example, the docs - http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/odi/odi_11g/odi_opmn/odi_opmn.htm specifies

  odi_opmn_addagent.bat as follows:

  • ODI_HOME is the path of the directory agent under your ODI 11g, for example:
    C:\WEBTIER_HOME\Oracle_WT1\odi_standalone\oracledi\agent, etc.

  but in the 11.1.1.7.0, installation of the system (by default) created C:\Oracle_BI\Oracle_WT1\ < as < css >, < Diagnostics > subdorectories, etc.  and not to create the path 'odi_standalone\oracledi\agent '.

  You can delete the file odiparams.bat , no need to JAVA_HOME.

  I tried to acquire images from a camera to 30 frames per second for the time-sensitive image processing. Currently I have a while loop with grab imaq acquire wired to imaq avi writing framework. The calendar of the loop is controlled by a wait function (ms). Of course, the framerate is dictated by the calendar of the loop, which is my main problem. For 30 fps, it's Ms. 33,333333 image which causes a rounding in the calendar of the loop error. So I make more images that I had because he's grabbing frames slightly faster than it should be.

  It seems that the link that you are is because the OS (all PC actually) and the camera have only a 1 kHz clock, so you're stuck with 1ms intervals.  In the software, there are still several ways so here:

  Solution of hack:

  Change the time of your delay loops: 33,33,34,33,33,34,...  This corrects your rounding error, but will give you up to 0.6666ms dithering in your signals.

  Best hack:

  Your feedback to vary your curls to delay time: run a timer and use it to adjust the ignition to 33 or 34 depending on where your<1ms rounding="" error="" is="" at="" that="" particular="">

  Cheap, best solution:

  Get a camera, you can set the schedule in the material.

  Best with what you have:

  Down timer windows 1ms.  The structure to use is a loop timed (under timed in the Panel of structures structures).  It will default to your timer 1 MS Windows, but you can use any material timing you have.  One of your tips will probably have a timer of 1 MHz, which will improve your scheduling problems and dither in 1000 x.  If you still need more, you can then use some notches above.

  At the end of the day, it is a hardware problem and would resolve 'better' in the material.  However, there is always plenty of ways to do it.  In fact, I am sure that the gurus NOR can happen to many others.

• Continuous recording 6008 to PDM

  I need to record data over long periods of time, using NIDAQmx and WinXP with a USB NIDAQ 6008.  Record to the TDMS format is probably very effective since the data is stored in binary format, 2 bytes per channel. I made some changes to one of the files example in order to obtain continuous to a PDM file. Allow me to include the source code hacked and the display of error message. Note that the size of the buffers have been adjusted in sector size (4096) on the Windows XP computer. Two problems:

  (1) data reading takes place approximately 3.5 times more slowly than anticipated, judging by the screen updates every 1000 measures.

  (2) after approximately 3300 samples, the program crashes with the error attached screen, indicating the saturation of data in the data buffer.

  If I change the data rate for example 500 samples/s instead of 1000 samples/s, there is no difference in behavior, so is probably not because of scheduling problems.

  Change the ConfigureLogging parameter of Val_LogAndRead to Val_Log (naturally!) produced an early error message, which indicates that data reads may occur while recording takes place. I strongly suspect a coding error.

If you double-click on one, you get a description of the function and each of the parameters. This might help clear things for you. All these names sound very similar settings and can be confusing, so it is a reference tool handy to clarify things.

  I recently inherited a Setup.

  What we discovered was a guest with 8 cores (dual, quad-core processors). It has eight virtual machines running.

  Each of them has been configured with 4 vCPUs. Performance was pretty terrible, as you would expect scheduling issues.

  I've reconfigured seven with one vCPU and two vCPU. Performance is significantly improved.

  The thing about this issue is it was painfully obvious by looking at the configuration. Looking at the indicators of performance, however, what we saw was the counter which showed the use CPU was down around 20% on the host.

  So my question is how do troubleshoot you less obvious examples - where would you diagnose performance due to CPU scheduling problems?

  You would with ESXtop or performance counters.

  in ESXTOP, you scale the CSTP meter to see if coscheduling is causing a problem.  Also watch % RDY to see if you are invading your CPU.

  I'm new to this forum, please bare with me. I have some experience with LV, but I am relatively new to data acquisition projects. I use LV2009.

  I want to make sure that I use the hardware timing (instead of software distribution) in my project so I followed some of the threads here as sugested to use DAQmx Schedule VI. The problem is that no matter how I set the system I get the same error-200300 invalid calendar
  type.

  The project is simple. I encode with 1000 pulses per
  Rev and it is mounted on a shaft of a turbine water goes thru. I'm watching the frequency
  and so the rotation of the shaft which tells me that the amount of water flows through the turbine. In the end, there will be 2 channels
  by every encoder and ~ 3 encoders (turbines) total and calibrated the main meter that will give me constant impulses and all encoders will be compared to this master frequency.

  I'll use PCI6602 DAQ, but
  now, for the development, I use USB6221. Let's say that the
  frequency is between 500 Hz and 10 kHz. What I am doing wrong? Or maybe better to ask - what would be the right approach for this project?

  Hi Marty,

  It seems that your question is already answered here, but Jason is correct that the 6221 neither the 6602 support a clock sampling for frequency measurements.

  As Jason mentioned, your best bet is also likely set the mode of synchronization for "implied". This means that the frequency value is sampled at the end of each period of your input signal. In addition, a solution that is clocked by the software (On-Demand) might be acceptable.

  X Series DAQ devices allow an external sample clock to use for frequency measures (described in the Manual of X series). Frequency of sample-clocked measures are useful in very specific
  circumstances, but it does not seem that you need this feature based on what you've described so far.

  (621 x) bus-powered M series can also be configured to use an external sample as the X series clock but do you not have the same features described in the manual of the X series.
