DBCA

Hi experts

I have oracle 11 GR 2 of Linux server and access the system from the windows machine 7.

I'm trying to access DBCA utility of windows machine 7.

I also installed cygwin and PuTTY on windows machine 7.

Please help me to configure and access DBCA.

Thank you

Hello

I don't want to complicate this query, but it depends on your skills, when it comes to cygwin - it can be complicated.

If I were you I would try to use xming, it is very easy compared to cygwin.

Everything you need to do is configure your putty on the linux server session, there is another thread about this here:

How to configure Xming and PuTTY for the graphics mode

I used Cygwin, xwindows and xming. Xming is super easy to install.

As stated in the thread-

Install xming, start the service and wait to see the icon, and then the PuTTY Control Panel, of the session you want to simply display-tunnel access the navigation tree and follow the instructions in the thread above.

See you soon,.

  • DBCA 12.1.0.2 does not deselect options database

    Hello

    After a software successfully on IBM AIX 7.1 installation I started the creation of the database using DBCA

    I noticed that in the section "Database Options", all components are selected and the boxes are Devils so I can't disable any component.

    dbca.png

    I found MOS Doc-ID 1590570.1 and it seems that this is normal.

    1 does anyone know what is the reason for this?

    2. has someone at - he found a solution for this problem? I prefer not to install unnecessary components...

    For some reason you seem to think that it would be an advantage to install a CBD with only the necessary database components. Well, apparently you can create a CBD with all components installed, or create a non - CBD were you can do not to install certain components. I'm afraid a users forum is perhaps not able to provide you with a definitive answer why there is such a design.

    The way I see it, from what I learned about 12 c so far, what you are trying to accomplish would probably add more complexity, affecting many aspects of the multitenancy, including the PDB of the SEED, which should be adjusted according to your custom options. It will also complicate things when you decide to connect or transfer other databases in your CBD.

  • Can't choose one block size, another from 8 KB to 12 c DBCA

    DB version: 12.1.0.2.4 (July 2015, power supply)

    OS: Oracle Linux 6.6

    I tried to create a database using DBCA. But the drop-down list is disabled, as shown below.6b1.JPG

    I tried to click on "All initialization parameters" circled in red above. But I don't get to change the value 8 to another

    6b2.JPG

    My network connection has been a little slow. But I don't think that this has nothing to do with this issue.

    If you have chosen a database template that includes data files, then the block size will be limited to the size of the block of data that was originally from the model.

    Hello

    you are using IBM AIX PowerHA for your database (active/passive) configuration. then you just install the binaries 'once' on one of the nodes. then coordinate with your operating system administrator to configure the fail the test scenarios.

    for your question. before you start the database, make sure that there are no "orphaned" oracle process using the UNIX grep command:

    $ ps - ef | grep ora

    Kill the oracle of the hanging of the process to release the lock on the database file handle:

    $ kill-9

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards

    emConfiguration - NONE - storageType FS

    I guess we have to manually configure the em console, but when I tried to create it, he told me that "' Dbcontrol repository already exists." "

    When I try to start it, it exports the error

    [Oracle@ltutest ~] $ emctl start dbconsole

    OC4J Configuration problem. /U01/app/Oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/OC4J/J2EE/OC4J_DBConsole_ltutest.compute-aulatrobeu83140.oraclecloud.internal_ORCL not found.

    Could someone could give me help with this problem?

    Thanks Brian. I tried your command, and it works. Now I've encountered another problem, how can I browse the URL?

    I created the access rule for access remote on port 1521 and 1158. but when I try to browse the EM console URL, it does not work. all the configurations that I need to do?

  • DBCA cannot create the database in 12 c in Windows

    Hello

    After the installation of Oracle 12 c on R2 Windows Server 2012 and successfully running the netca command to configure the listener, I run with the DBCA tool question

    It throws an error message of "Recovery Manager could not restore the data files"

    I looked at the log files, here is some information:

    Corrupt block 1 found during the backup piece, reading file=C:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\12.1\DBHOME_1\ASSISTANTS\DBCA\TEMPLATES\SEED_DATABASE. DFB, corr_type = 4

    Review of blocknum = 1, file=C:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\12.1\DBHOME_1\ASSISTANTS\DBCA\TEMPLATES\SEED_DATABASE. DFB, found the same corrupted data

    Not sure if this helps, but I am attaching several log files to help debug the problem.

    I read the post DBCA cannot create the database in 12 c, but it doesn't quite have an answer.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you

    Pranav

    Looks like a bad installation or a bad block on your disk. Have you tried creative using the "Custom Database" model in the wizard dbca (one that does not come with the data files)? It will take more time to create, but shouldn't read the dbca reported as corrupted file

  • DBCA not showing ASM diskgroup

    where as the ora.asm the resource is executed too and asmcmd & sql (like sysasm) sees him starts: DATA & FRA, but when you try to create a database using dbca... nothing is visible.

    FYI, there is a single database... not CARS.

    Please help/advise, what needs to be done here.

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the speed... but I solved it myself...

    Basically, here, I played with acfs & portfolio and old sqlnet has the location of portfolio, which I removed already and it's only reason for diskgroup does not appear using dbca.

    but this seems quite interesting, even for a whole new db, sqlnet info is critical.

    And how do I get to this solution: looking at the logs step by step dbca.

    my position: / ora/cfgtools/dbca /... must be a log file created, I started dbca, tail f just for her and you will see.

    As I renamed the sqlnet.ora old sqlnet.ora.old... everything seems good.

    but thanks again for your quick response...

  • Oracle 9.2.0.4 on RedHat AS 2.1 dbca hangs on 46%

    Hi all

    I have a major problem with running with this version of Oracle dbca. Software installation went well, but whenever I try to create the db using dbca, quite simply, it crashes, here is the alert.log result:

    Starting ORACLE instance (normal)

    LICENSE_MAX_SESSION = 0

    LICENSE_SESSIONS_WARNING = 0

    Window SCN 2

    Using the default for the log_archive_dest parameter value

    LICENSE_MAX_USERS = 0

    SYS audit is disabled

    and that's all.

    Previously, I had a warning message in the alert.log on the heap, so I increased kernel.shmmax and then the message was gone, but still dbca hangs. It is using jre included in installation (1.1.8), and here are some operating system settings:

    cat /etc/sysctl.conf

    # Disables packet transfer

    NET. IPv4.ip_forward = 0

    # Allows checking the source route

    NET. IPv4.conf.default.rp_filter = 1

    # Disables the magic sysrq key

    kernel. SysRq = 0

    kernel.SEM = 250 32000 100 128

    kernel.shmmax = 2147483648

    kernel.shmmni = 128

    kernel.shmall = 2097152

    NET. IPv4.ip_local_port_range = 1024 65000

    FS.file - max = 65536

    cat /etc/security/limits.conf
    Oracle soft nofile 65536

    Oracle hard nofile 65536

    Oracle nproc 16384 soft

    Oracle nproc 16384 hard

    Also, changed the size of block to 8192 (size of the OS being 4096), since dbca offered 6144 in the first place, but always without success.

    If anyone has any ideas, please share it, I don't know what I should try. It must be this version of db, so new version is not an option.

    After trying various things, the problem was simple: $TMPDIR variable has been set to a non-existent directory.

  • How the installation program an Oracle 12 c and database instance without using DBCA, or YES?

    Hello

    I was in charge of the implementation of an Oracle 12 c instance and a database on Redhat 6.4. The caveat is that I can't use the DBCA or YES GUI to do this, I can only use the command line...

    The other issue is there is already the default ORCL instance and the database. So I need to get up a second instance and database, to the sides of it.

    Which is fine, but it is almost impossible to find tutorials on how to do this way.

    So if someone can tell me a good doc on how to do this it would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

    Sam

    It would be at this point that I would like to inform my boss that the way he wants me to approach my work will make me very unproductive. I could no longer made in a short period of time, if I could use the tools Oracle provides for me.

    Maybe I got lucky, but I've never worked for a manager who gave me details like this in the way of my job. Generally said "here's the requirements, now get on with the job." His place for me to decide how to do the task at hand. That being said, I could definitely see a Manager saying something like "we don't have the budget by Exceed for your XWindows environment' (or other 3rd party software X), but that doesn't stop me using X if I could find a way to do it within budget.

    You can certainly install the software silently without X. Google for Oracle Silent Install and you should get a lot of success. You will need to create a response file, and then run the YES program with her. This gives you the software installed with only the command line.

    Regards to the manual creation of the database, you can do it too. Here is a link to the Oracle documentation: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28310/create003.htm#ADMIN11073

    Have fun! It is so much easier with the DBCA Wizard now.

    Finally, if it were me, I would give my post to the company a serious reflection. I prefer to work for a boss who gives me rather than a solely responsible for micro me. I do not say your in a bad position. I don't know all the details. You can be perfectly happy with this work, that would be great! But the comments of the kind that a Manager always give me pause.

    See you soon,.

  • DBCA SHOWING NO DATA AND FRA... Help, please?

    Hi, I was trying the new installation of Oracle 11 g. Executing command (DBCA), to the DATA CONFIGURATION WIZARD, step 6 of 12: location of the database files. In the database box, I click to BROSE BUTTON but it does not show DATA or FRA. You will find the attached screenshot for more clear.

    databasearea.png

    PROBLEM WAS SOLVED... because we know that /dev/raw / * must contain the ORACLE as USER AND OINSTALL as a GROUP in order to distribute the ASM for DATA and FRA... No ONE including ME REMARQUERAIT the USER AND GROUP that I presented above. I am again submitting the above information here as well, or you can check the same information [root@example dev] # ls - ld/dev/raw / * of the above. So this is what the user and group was before. Because to show DATA AND FRA drive to the title of the ASM, the/dev/RAW/expected to be under ORACLE as USER AND OINSTALL as GROUP but before /dev/raw / * was under ROOT as USER and DRIVE as a GROUP and because of this it was not showing the DATA and FRA assigned disk while using the DBCA COMMAND

    THE MAIN PROBLEM in MY CASE WAS ON AFTER, if you give OR type chown-r oracle: oinstall/dev/raw, chmod 770/dev/raw, chmod 660/dev/raw/raw * MANUALLY then it will display the correct GROUPS and USERS

    [root@example Desktop] # chown r oracle: oinstall/dev/raw

    AFTER THEN AGAIN if YOU CHECK the USER AND the GROUP using ls - ld/dev/raw / * then his root watch and the disk commands as the user and group. It shows the root and the disc where it should be ORACLE and OINSTALL under USERS and GROUPS. I couldn't find the reason why even after put chown-r oracle: oinstall/dev/raw, chmod 770/dev/raw, chmod 660/dev/raw/raw * shows the wrong USER AND GROUP?

    SO HERE'S WHAT I DID... THE SOLUTION WORKING for me is that I created the shell script file named test.sh.

    STEP 1: CREATE the SHELL SCRIPT FILE test.sh

    [root@example Desktop] # cat /root/test.sh

    chown-r oracle: oinstall/dev/raw

    chmod 770/dev/raw

    chmod 660/dev/raw/raw *.

    STEP 2: Place rc.local file test.sh

    [root@example ~] vi /etc/rc.d/rc.local

    ! / bin/sh

    #

    # This script will be executed * after * all the other init scripts.

    # You can put your own stuff of initialization here if you do not

    # want to do the full Sys V style init stuff.

    touch/var/lock/subsys/local

    / dev/raw/raw1 gross/dev/sda11

    / dev/raw/raw2 gross/dev/sda12

    / dev/raw/raw3 gross/dev/sda13

    / dev/raw/raw4 gross/dev/sda14

    / dev/raw/raw5 gross/dev/sda15

    / dev/raw/raw6 gross/dev/sda16

    /root/test.sh

    STEP 3: REFRESH rc.local or you can RESTART the pc once more

    [root@example Desktop] # /etc/rc.d/rc.local

    STEP 4: CHECK the USERS and GROUPS as mentioned below: -.

    [root@example Desktop] # ls - ld/dev/raw / *.

    CRW - rw-. 1 oracle oinstall 162, 1 Jan 30 09:35 / dev/raw/raw1
