DCR-TRV18 vs Windows 7

I have a Handycam DCR-TRV18, that was given to me as a gift from my father-in-law, missing since. I love the carmera himself, works perfectly (which also has a sentimental value). In the last 6 months, I bought a new laptop which is running Windows 7, 64 bit. I tried to install the software and drivers for the camera with no luck. I do not understand if Canon can update drivers for my digital camera and hp can update drivers for my old printer why is there anything Sony. I have a lot of videos, I need to transfer, back when my more young played football peewee right up to the last weekend and my granddaughters 5th birthday. There are a lot of circumstances with my granddaughter and I want to capture all the painful memories for her to have as it ages. This weekend we had in pony for her birthday and now I can't do anything with it. If it allows Sony to try to make me buy a new camcorder, it will not be a sony that's for sure. If someone could give me a few pointers or info would be greatly appreciated.

Hello
Welcome to the Forums of Discussion of the user.
Your DCR-TRV18 requires no drivers for Windows 7. Please note however the software runs in compatible mode 32 bits, there is no support native 64-bit only. When using the software the software right click and run in XP compatibility mode.

Please see this guide which was published for your camera, when Vista was released in 2007
http://eSupport.Sony.com/us/Perl/news-i... RV18 #soft2
the same information listed in the link above also applies to Windows 7.

    Hi Jeffmackinnon,

Yes, it is possible to transfer movies from the DCR-TRV350 camcorder to your computer Windows Vista using an A / V connection or via an i.Link (firewire/IEEE 1394 cable) connection. The camcorder's USB connection cannot be used to transfer videos as its USB streaming function is not compatible with Windows Vista.

If you want to use the supplied A / V cable to import videos, check out the link for the instructions below.

  • DCR-TRV265E and Windows 7

    Hi guys,.

I'm trying to find a solution to transfer content cassette Digital 8 on my Windows 7 (64-bit), powered by the PC. I lost the software CD supplied with the camera that has video Capture software.

I tried to login using the link i provided to a USB cable and firewire cable with Firwire USB adapter (which I have not a Firewire on the PC port), but Windows 7 does not detect the presence of the camcorder at all no matter what I do.

Any ideas on how can get this to work with my PC?

So, I managed to download the "PlayMemories Home" of SONY software that deals with video capture. The problem is that this software is trying to do on initial forcing me to connect the camera to the PC via USB, but when I do this, the software tells me that it cannot detect the camera

Need me the driver for Windows 7, it seems the camera to work via USB.

Anyone know where I can download the driver from?

  • Using Handycam DCR-TRV38

Can I use my Sony Handycam DCR-TRV38 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit? Microsoft Compatibility Center tells me that the driver is already installed in Windows 7, but my computer does not recognize the device when I plug in the USB. Sony support says that no files are available for the device. How can I get my computer to recognize my Handycam?

There are no drivers to connect a Sony Tapebased camcorder to a windows 7 or Windows Vista. For example, Video Streaming of these camcorders with the USB cable is not possible. But here are some Options that you can use.

Scenario 1) you can use your Sony camcorder with windows 7 with an I.LINK cable. Your computer must have an IEEE1394 Port. The i.link cable connects to the DV to the Port of the camcorder, and it's a 4 pins. Check the computer plug to know howmany pins is the IEEE1394 port on it. If it is 4 points, then you will need a cable 4-4 pin. If it's a 6 pin, then you will need a 4 - 6 pins. Once you have the I.link cable, then simply connect the camcorder to the computer. Use Windows Movie Maker to capture video.

NOTE: If the computer lacks an IEEEE1394 Port, so don't buy th ecable. So then you can use the A / V cable provided with the camcorder. READ SCENARIO 2

Scenario 2) you can use your Sony camcorder with windows 7 with an A / V cable. You'll need an outdoor A / V capture device such as a GLARE. The glare comes with capture software that must be installed on the computer. The Dazzle or A / V capture device has RCA connectors to connect the A / V cable for camcorder. The the Dazzle has a tail of pig USB to connect to a USB port on the computer. To capture videos using the software provided with the DAZZLE or A / V capture device.

  • Windows 7 and DCR TRV16E

    Hello

I want to capture video from my DCR-TRV16E to a pc running on Windows 7 via I.Link. Whatever I do, the pc does not see my camcorder (not in Windows Explorer or Windows Movie Maker and Adobe Premiere). I get the same problem when I want to connect via USB.

When I connect the camcorder on my Mac, iMovie recognizes immediately that the camcorder starts to capture. Unfortunately, my Mac is a little slow, so I want to edit on my pc.

Is it possible to connect this camcorder to a computer running on Windows 7?

    Thanks in advance,
    Sihem

    Solved!
For those who want to know how:

Windows 7 has a driver more recent for firewire - and is often not compatible with the older firewire camcorders. So what you can do is to change the driver that defaults to the old driver.

Control Panel > Device Manager > IEEE 1394 controller > select your port firewire card
Right-click on the port and then select 'Properties' and select the 'Driver' tab click the 'Update Driver' button and then click on "Browse my computer for driver software" and then "Let me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer. Select "1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (legacy)" and then click "next".
The former driver should then be installed and I hope it will allow you to use the PC for capture from camcorder via firewire.

  • Windows 7 and DCR-HC21

I have a Sony DCR-hC21 camera and laptop computers changed recently. I now run Windows 7 64 bit. I can't download drivers for the PMB software. Is there another way to transfer a movie from the camera to my laptop?

You cannot use the USB cable because there is no USB streaming of drivers for windows 7. Camcorder came with SW called Picture package. Not compatible with windows 7. PMB on esupport are updates only. Cannot use this. Check if your computer has an IEEE1394 port. If that's the case then you can use an i.link cable, known as a Firewire cable as well. No special SW necessary with this cable. Your computer will automatically use Windows live movie maker to capture video. If the computer lacks the IEEE1394, then you can use the A / V cable supplied with your handycam. Use of the A / V cable you will need to get an external A / V capture card that would receive signals of the handycam and pass them through a USB port on your computer. Check the Dazzle for example: http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/u... ts/Dazzle /

To answer your question, this camcorder USB Streaming feature is not possible with Windows 8 operating system. If you try to connect the camcorder to your computer Windows 8 using a USB cable, the camera will not be recognized by the computer.

To transfer the videos from the camcorder to your computer with Windows 8 operating systems, use an i.LINK (a.k.a firewire or IEEE1394 cable) cable or Audio/video provided (A / V) cable and software compatible video capture as Windows MovieMaker software.

According to the availability of the iLINK decision-making or A / V jack on the computer, follow the instructions provided in the links to transfer the videos below.

    i.LINK cable:

    https://us.en.KB.Sony.com/app/answers/detail/A_ID/37892/p/36919, 37620,37639/c/65,66/kw/transfer%20vi...

    Audio/video (A / V) cable:

    http://eSupport.Sony.com/Tutorial/389/us/en/

Once you have transferred the videos on your computer, you can use the software PlayMemories home (WPH) to organize the video files.

  • DCR-TRV260 NTSC via USB for Windows XP Home edition home

    Hello!

I'm trying to help a friend to connect its DCR-TRV260 NTSC to his computer HP Vectra VL420 (Yes, a very old machine).
The computer is HP P/n: PS660AV #246, with a processor Pentium 4 (Willamette) of 478mPGA socket @1. 70 GHz, installed on a HP
card system with an Intel i845 NB A05 and and Intel 82801 SB, the latter is, I suspect, the culprit.
We lack a clean new install of Windows XP Edition family with Service Pack 3, with 384 MB of PC133 SDRAM.
I know it's something Museum but hey, it works and it can not even buy a more recent machine.

The problem: I can't do the camera be considered a via USB removable storage device, in order to download still images on the computer, he recorded on tape, not a stick of memory, there no card IEEE1394 and no budget to buy a.
I installed the software included in his CD that comes with the camera, and I can work
streaming USB tool and watch motion pictures and still images through it, but I can not D/L to the computer.
I removed all the foregoing, as well as all instances of the camera Device Manager, then set up PMB56_installer1108a, to my dismay, because he wants to only use IEEE1394 (I understand why, but it should offer the USB option).

How we manage to always download these images, recorded on tape, on his computer?
I suspect the Intel 82801 SB is at fault, because even if it does not detect the camera and every time I plug it, Device Manager
updated to reflect the three instances related to the camera, the Sony imaging device, digital video USB Composite and Audio USB
Device, it cannot be seen as a removable storage device.

Of course, I read the manual for the camera and the computer application s/w, but I can't find anything related, none of the people
two elements indicate how do what my friend waiting!

I read all the messages mentioning USB as a search term, and the question is: is WXP just incapable of such a feat?

    Help, please.

    Hello!
After all this time, I discovered the answer to watch me on page 25 of the PDF manual camera operations.
They are not always photos within the meaning of the word "cybershot", they are
still images recorded with sound, then it's just a frozen video image recording with
    seven seconds of audio.

Now we have captured it with Windows Movie Maker and export it somehow to jpg still images.

    Thanks anyway!

  • How can I download for my sony dcr-dvd403 pmb to windows vista 36 bit

looking for software for downaloda pmb for windows vista for sony dcr dvd403 handycam

looking for software for downaloda pmb for windows vista for sony dcr dvd403 handycam

You have Windows Vista 32-bit and a Sony DCR-DVD403 with LCD 2.7 "...

According to the Windows Vista for Sony DCR-DVD403 Compatibility Center the device itself is compatible without any intervention on your part.  Support for any third party hardware or software is always from the hardware manufacturer or software.  It is their place to ensure that their hardware and software are compatible with the operating systems their customers use (or not to do - put an end to their support for said product and basically stating that produced a legacy package/device).

Visit Sony support web page and put in your camera model after you have selected the option for downloads, it takes a place where you can select various downloads.  Simply choose 'Windows Vista' in the menu drop-down "Select an Operating System.  Then it expans show several possible downloads to support this device in Windows Vista, including updates of Picture Motion Browser and Picture Package Sony feeding with their products.  Here are a few updates - so you will need to have a version already installed.

Notes for the Motion Picture Browser declares, "this utility updates PMB versions 1.1 to 5.8.01 and Cyber-shot Viewer version 1.0, PMB version 5.8.02..."- so I think it is reasonable to assume that, as long as you have an installed version (from the CD that came with your camera), you can use this update to bring it up to State fully patched.  Sony offers a link if you need to buy replacement CD for those that you should have received with your product.  Wow - 30 USD - they are proud of their software.  You may have more luck that many others in the research that a download legitimate to PMB is that you do not have your original CD...
