Hi 2R2,.

Problems with graphics?

Intel graphics card is integrated on the motherboard and uses of the system RAM.

Your current graphics mode is 1360 x 768. You should be able to use 1920 by 1080 p if intel GPU supports this mode.

Here's an excerpt on the Haswell HD 4770 graphics k i7 4600 GPU:

"The Intel Core i7 - 4770K sells for about $340.

  • Greatly improved performance compared to the last generation GPU
  • DirectX 11 support
  • Maturity of improved driver
  • Turbo Boost to dynamically adjust the graphic clocks
  • Completely silent
  • Bitstream HDMI Audio taken in charge
  • Capacity overclocking of the extra GPU via the multiplier to change
  • DisplayPort, HDMI 1.4 1.2 and 3D support
  • Dedicated transcoding hardware

  • Performance of GPU limited
  • Not available on LGA1150 (with embedded DRAM) GT3

8.6 new Haswell Intel processors provide a performance improvement of 25% good for the integrated graphics core platform socket 1150. Motherboard vendors may choose a faster graphical heart, called 'Iris', but it's only for the processors that will be soldered to the motherboard.
Our tests not only sees that Intel has improved performance, but pilots were also stable, and I did not notice errors rendering, or similar problems. Looking at the performance, the HD 4600 Graphics solution is just much too slow for any serious game, even at 1280 x 800. I chose 'High' quality for each game settings before starting the test and was apparently too optimistic. Framerates are far playable, but I could imagine some games to be playable if you choose absolute lowest settings and play at low resolutions, which certainly will not deliver the right PC - gaming experience.
Compared to other graphics solutions low-end, we see performance 25% slower catches up quickly to the APU from AMD, but Intel and AMD has not improved with their latest processors of Richland.
Bottom line: If you want to make serious games, don't expect Intel integrated solution to provide a decent experience. Instead, save the money on the CPU and spend it on a real graphics card. Even a $100 Radeon HD 7750 or a card over the last five years will considerably improve the framerates. You, on the other hand, will be fine with an integrated solution if everything you use your PC for YouTube, Facebook, office productivity, and browser games. »

My laptop has Intel Graphics HD 4600. Total available graphics memory is 8285 MB with only 128 MB dedicated video memory. Is it possible to increase the amount of memory dedicated to the video memory?

    Edit:

If it is not possible to do it with a few key strokes, is it possible in changing material?

    Hello

No, you can't add more RAM to the chip, system will automatically more contribute up to the maximum limit by using RAM available. Yes, you can change the hardware: buy the new motherboard = buy a new machine.

  • Satellite L875D-10R - dedicated video memory - 512 MB only

    Hello

I have a problem with my dedicated video memory. I bought my Toshiba laptop with 2 GB (amd 7640G) dedicated video memory, but it shows that I have only 512 MB dedicated. I tried also test in GPU. It shows also only 512 MB.

Is it maybe problem in point 8.1 of Windows?

    Hello

The Satellite L875D-10R supports 7640 G AMD Radeon HD internal graphic unit. This GPU is part of the processor AMD Quad-Core A8 - 4500M.

Graphics memory depends on main memory. A part of the main memory would be assigned to graphics memory. In the case of 8 GB RAM main GPU can use up to 4083 MB by using the 64-bit system.

You should also know that this will be controlled by the graphics driver and you cannot change it manually.

    Hi Sami

As far as I know it works automatically and there is no option where you can set it manually.
This option does not exist in the BIOS.

You know it's always a problem with portable machines. Video more power means more heat and due to a specific design and cooling system which can be very risky for the portable machine etc. is all this a little... different.

There is no 'card' you might be imagining. The video is one of the dishes chips soldered to the motherboard. You already have the best video system available for dv7-4000 series of laptops, so there is no way upward to something better.

    Hi @nextor ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. It's a great site for information and questions. I looked at your question about your Notebook of 17-f208nx HP Pavilion Notebook and concerns regarding the graphics not to be seen in the BIOS. That it is up to your motherboard, it is usually on the Advanced tab. If it is not listed in the BIOS means that you will not be able to change the options.

    Thank you.

And my Intel(r) Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Mobile report is:

I hope that's all the information you need to help me.

Thank you for all that you attention.

    Mario.

    Hi, Mario:

You cannot change the amount of memory shared system dedicated to the video adapter in your laptop.

The award is automatic, and there is no BIOS or program settings that allow any changes.

    Kind regards

  • Increase dedicated memory graphic Skylake HD

Hey :). I come from a Lenovo machine (which I returned due to building defects).

In the Lenovo BIOS, could increase dedicated graphics memory. XPS 13 remains to 128, with more available as "shared." Does this affect performance? How can you increase the memory dedicated XPS 13? For Lenovo, it was possible, and it was also Skylake.

There is no way - the 128 M is the Z-buffer - not the dedicated video memory (in fact NO video memory dedicated - is all the system RAM).  The driver will allocate as much RAM system needed up to the maximum allowed by the total RAM in the system - there is no way to send it manually.

  • Mini-Tower OptiPlex 990 - dedicated video RAM?

Hi all. I recently bought a refurbished Dell Optiplex 990 MT, and I tried to increase the dedicated video RAM. It is currently set at 64 MB, and it's way, WAY too low. It has 8 GB of RAM in it, and I thought I could juice upward without falling another 200-300 dollars for a discrete GPU.

I visited most sites say that there is an option in the BIOS, but I have no luck. I upgraded to the latest firmware (A19), but nothing. Did I just waste my money buying this thing?

You have the latest Intel Chipset and Intel Graphics drivers? Go to the Intel download site and that his assistant scan your system for the appropriate drivers.

Most likely, you cannot increase the amount of RAM dedicated to video, and I only see the option listed in the BIOS according to the service Manual.

Video expansion card must not be very expensive so that even than a "plain vanilla" card could increase performance.

  • Dedicated video RAM

    Hi all

first I use hp pavilion g series

so I checked today if my laptop can run GTA IV

    but his failure due to

    Dedicated video RAM

This means my laptop cant run this game cause my video card is low?

    Ok.

It doesn't have are deleted. A friend probably installed you the Intel HD graphics adapter update separately. He didn't know it would break the ability of the switchable graphics. No worries. It can be reinstalled.

Download and run the latest AMD graphics adapter softpaq. When it asks you if you want to install or remove all, go ahead and select Remove all. When it finishes just run it again and tell him to install all including the Catalyst Control Center. It will install the software graphics for two adapters.

Once this is done, you will have your rear switchable graphics and be able to run the game using the high performance AMD HD adapter.

  • Change dedicated video RAM

    Hello

I have a Dell laptop with an Intel i5 processor intel 4000 HD Graphics and 8 GB of RAM.

I went into the BIOS to change the dedicated video memory, as it is currently 32 MB which is tiny for a system of 8 gb but I can't find any option to change it. Im running windows 8.

Boot configuration options is F2 and Boot options is F12

The 32G that you see is not the video RAM - it's a frame buffer.  The system allocates video RAM necessary - there is no way to manually change the assignment.
