Default mail app?

I want to change my email application default for the magic, which has great features of clouds.

I held out my hand to the owner, and they said there is no way to change the default application in the iOS?

is this possible?

If this is true, it may be the final straw that I go back to android?

Thank you

That's right, that you get by default. If you want to switch to Android on something trivial like that, then that's your right, but I don't see much point in choosing an application 'default' for the mail. It just open Mail if you prefer to mail, or open the magical cloud if you prefer the magical cloud. Nothing on the definition of a 'default' would make that any easier.

  • How can I open mail.app on iMac with applescript?

    Hello

I will build and run a script to open the mail on my iMac application and apply the rules I created Apple. This is to get rid of the spam and junk at the launch of the mail application.

I tried the 'recording' function, but nothing happens! The script remains empty. So I do not right. Not very well know how it works.

    Thanks for your help

Hi mac_naashenaas. To open the mail and bring it to the front with an AppleScript script, you can simply use:

    activate the application "Mail".

Or you can use explicitly a statement to say:

    Tell application "Mail" to activate

You can also use the creator code of the app Finder and Mail file:

Tell application "Finder" to open the application file id "emal".

Or use Finder and Mail bundle identifier:

Tell application "Finder" to open the application file id "com.apple.mail.

You can also run a shell command to open a mail:

    shell script ('open - a \"Mail\'")

Another option is to display a dialog box with user input:

appName text returned value ("what application you want to open?" response by default 'Mail' dialogue display)

    activate the appName application

You can also search for Mail to choose in the Applications folder with a command prompt:

appName choose application with guest the value "choose an application to open:

    activate appName

Finally, another option is to display a dialog box with buttons:

display dialog 'which application you want to open?' the default button buttons {'email', 'Browse', 'Cancel'} "Mail".

    If result = {return button: "Mail"} then

    activate the application "Mail".

otherwise if result = {return button: 'Browse'} then

appName choose application with guest the value "choose an application to open:

    activate appName

    end if

I have not changed the default settings.  When you go to Associations of program for a program, the Windows default Mail application is already set and a check is in the MAIL box to.
    1. How can I get this problem so that I can email pictures of the windows file manager by using the send/share feature?

I have this problem as well. The only way to use the feature "send to" via File Explorer is to install a different e-mail program outside the application Mail in Windows 8. So, in this case, you need to install Windows Essentials, which includes Windows Live Mail 2012 - OR - Microsoft Office Outlook.

If you want to use the Mail in Windows 8 application to send photos, then use must navigate your photos using the "Photos" App that comes with Windows 8.

    1. navigate to the folder that contains your photos you want to share using the Photos App.

2 zoom out to see all the photos or holding the key Ctrl and scrolling the mouse wheel down, by clicking on the "-" sign in the lower right corner of your screen, or pinch the screen when you view the photos in the folder you are browsing.

3 press and hold the CTRL key while holding down the CTRL key, click each photo you want to share with the mouse. Not sure how it would work with key only.

    4. Once satisfied with your selection, drag the right or mouse on to the down right of your screen and click / tap share.

    5. here, you will be able to choose email to send your photos.

Seems more complicated it is, but to use the Mail application, it's how you do it. Otherwise, the other method is for the moment.

  • Windows 8 Mail App - for Gmail accounts, how to remove archive button?

I have some Gmail accounts, I'm trying to make it work in the application Mail in Windows 8.  The problem is that if I press the button Delete in the top right of the app, it sends my e-mail message to the trash in Gmail, where he get permanently deleted after 30 days.  I want to remove the button to simply remove the element from its current location and "archive" instead (not go in the trash).  I need this so that I can keep the search of old messages history.

I checked in my Gmail settings (on their site) and on the tab "transfer and POP/IMAP", I already have ' auto clear on ' and 'Archive' message when a message is marked as deleted.

Plus, I saw that other support posts here who say the default by pressing the button Delete for them is the exact opposite of what I see (they say archives instead of cops).  I am completely confused about it since that's what I want, but don't see anything else to try to get it.

Can someone please give some insight on how to get this working?  I have my iPad Mail app works very well in this regard.  But this question, it is difficult to make the switch from my Surface Pro.

    I found a solution!

    It's pretty simple.

    1. go in Gmail settings - labels

On the right side of the screen, you can select records show in imap.

    2. remove the ckeckmark then in bin/basket

Now, the trash will not be displayed in imap (as the Win 8 messaging application) e-mail applications.

    3. now, go to the windows mail application 8. If you still see a Bin or Trash, folder synchronization (right-click - option to the left)

    4. open the charms bar (drag in from the right side of the screen or move your mouse cursor to the top right of the screen and then down). Go to settings - accounts - choose your gmail account. Scroll to the bottom of the settings panel

You will now see an option of folder in which you want to use as trash! See attached picture

    5. choose [Gmail] \All Mail as the basket

Fact! Now when you delete an email it will be archived.

Impossible to believe there is even a solution, I couldn't find one on the web, he found by chance. Hope this will help a lot of people. Now if only Microsoft and Google that would place in their official faq...

  • Change the mailto: link Outlook Desktop for Windows 8 Mail app

After you have installed Office 365 in Windows 8, the desktop version of Outlook took the "mailto:" links from other applications and Web sites. I want to continue to use the Windows 8 Mail application. Is it possible to change this setting?

    1. move your pointer to the bottom left of the screen, right-click and then select Control Panel then select default programs.

    2. Select set your default program settings.

    3. Select the mail on the left.

    4. Select set this program as default.

    5. click on OK.

For the Mail app this only associates the mailto: Protocol. It does not send an email page/link for the e-mail application.
