  Since I started to use El Capitan, I noticed that when I record a new file, the default location that is displayed is the last folder I saved to.  However, I'd have rather be level folder (or more) above because I often switch between different subfolders.  Is it possible that I can set a preference to see where the default "save under" destination happens?

  As long as I can remember, it is the behavior of OSX. I do not think it is possible unless there is a notch in the Terminal. However, some programs always comes back by default in a certain folder like Documents or photos etc.

  Try this:
  PAINT box open, and then click BLUE in the upper left corner of the screen (it's the box that gives the drop down options for saving a file), now click on SAVE AS and a selection of Save as formats including JPEG will appear to the right, move your cursor over the JPEG option and right CLICK (not left-click) , three options will be presented, click on option (selection) from the top that says add to QUICK ACCESS the FOLDER.
  This creates a new ICON at the top of paint next to the arrow and UNDO (icons).
  Now in the future when you want to save anything as JPEG just click on this new icon (instead of the blue drop-down list) and save the normal opens with DEFAULT JPEG.

  You can not. If you notice when save you as default value corresponds to what the original is. Example: PSD will save as a PSD unless you make the effort to change. Avoid making mistakes.

  For example, you can save it in the system temporary folder (there is a way for this constant!) or next to the executable. If it must be different for each user, place the ini file in the default folder or the default data folder.

  If you have LabVIEW 2009, you have a few more predefined places: have a look at get_system_directory. Simply put the ini compared to one of these locations, and he'll know how to find them later.

  The real essentials you need to know is that libraries are not records.  They are really just a quick search of several places.  Try this: right click on the document library and select Properties.  This will tell you where the library is looking.  Whenever you open the document library, it performs an instant analysis of these places and tells you what he found.  Is not additional copies files, it's just search results.   It feels a little strange question, but I REALLY can't understand this.

  I try to save an image from Safari on my computer but I don't seem to be able to choose the location to save it. Even if I open the context menu and select the option "Save Image under...". ", a pop-up window opens with a choice of repertoire , BUT the only option to choose in the menu drop-down is the same download folder (here also a remote disk option in the menu which is totally useless to me).

  I'm sure that where other options to choose from in the dropdown under "Desktop", "The file" etc, but now the only option seems to be the downloads folder.

  (A) Pourquoi - what happens?

  (B) is it possible to add a place more to the menu drop-down select to save an image in safari?

  Update: not knowing how, but earlier another option popped up, but it is still far from resolved.
