  Providing the default answer which is several lines (empty), the dialog box expands to show this. It is not perfect, but the work effort is virtually 0.

• Not visible Automator actions as Photo Service

  Al of the sudden, created new Automator actions no longer appear in the Photo.

  If I create an action Automator (Service) using the default Photo actions in Automator, they are placed in the user/library/services, but they do not appear in the menu of Photo service. I've already placed several automator actions in the past with success, they appear always, but the new created his didn't, I can't know what goes wrong.

  I can't help you with the services I've had problems in the past and went with the applications.  In the Script Editor's preferences, I activated the script menu in the menu bar:

  For Photos I have created apps for all scripts that AppleScript which is on Photos for Mac usage tips and place them in the folder of PHOTOS:

  

  I have compiled most of these scripts as applications and are available to download from this tutorial: P01 - Applescripts to user tips compiled as Photos Applications.

  I know that does you no problem, but it is a workaround, IMO, is a bit easier to implement and maintain.

  I just receive my MBA a few weeks ago to Apple and noticed my Razor mouse worked only with BluTooth but not when it is plugged into a usb port.  Other mouse usb and external drives readers work well.  Razor support told me the plug-and-play subsystem has screwed up, and errors have been associated with Automator.

  I have only a local account and I have not linked to the iCloud account.

  I don't want to reinstall my laptop because I have 300 GB of data on it, as well as some programs that I installed.

  I think that a package is not properly installed or missing, but my OSX knowledge is poor, because I have just started using a Mac!

  I'm trying to make sure that all the rules given in the tables of my maps are set to 'REPORT' and want to use OMBPlus for this but I can't find the proper syntax to do this. This is what seems logical to me at this time to retrieve the current value:

  OMBRETRIEVE MAPPING '$mapName' DATA_RULE '$ruleName' OPERATOR '$tbl' GET PROPERTIES (RULE_ACTION)

  It makes me:

  To answer my own question and anyone else looking for the correct syntax, this is what I came with:

  # some variables for name mapping ($mapName) settings and scoreboard operator target ($tgttbl) in the mapping took place before these lines

  MAPPING of the OMBALTER '$mapName' CHANGE the VALUES of PROPERTIES (RULE_ACTION) DATA_RULES '$rule' OPERATOR '$tgttbl"("REPORT")

  REPORT can be replaced by IGNORE or BR_MOVE_TO_ERROR, according to the necessary RULE_ACTION.

  I can't find the Automator action: 'PDF Split' - it is mentioned in this article: http://www.documentsnap.com/how-to-split-pdf-documents-into-single-pages-using-m ac - osx / #comment-280641 which has many comments confirming the existence of this action.

  I read the post here about the missing "extract PDF Text" action, but the solution it does not solve my problem.

  I can't find the 'Split PDF' automator action on my iMac (early 2009 model) under OS X 10.9.5 (Mavericks).

  At one point I thought that the action "PDF Split" perhaps were renamed "PDF d'Images', which also separates the PDF documents in single page files. Unfortunately, as the name of the action, suggests this automator action creates Images of each page and all previously available text in the PDF document is converted in the process. This makes their subsequent treatment very difficult.

  Any help in recovering this missing action or a workaround (in automator or applescript) would be greatly appreciated!

  On OS X 10.11.6 there is a PDF Split action in PDF Library of Automator. Don't have 10.9.5 to check it of there or not, but Apple doesn't change very often, these actions so that you may have overlooked it.

• Playlist music Apple Automator

  I'm writing an automator action that will play a playlist of music to apple by hitting F4. This works for the normal playlists and smart playlists I created with my own music but doesn't seem to work with playlists of music from Apple as the playlists of a list.

  Any ideas why this is?

• Automator: using a text file to set several items from the finder?

  what I would do:

  I have a text file that contains multiple entries for files and folders, each on a separate line. I want to dragndrop this file on an automator action, he should ask me a destination folder and then copy all the files and folders in this folder.

  I have my action, automator, set up like this:

  Elements of the open Finder

  Get the content of the TextEdit Document

  Copy to the Clipboard (I have not found another way to keep my text sort file values and let it not be crushed by the following, but it works)

  Quit the Application (TextEdit)

  Ask the Finder items (this requires a destination folder)

  Set the value of the Variable (Destination)

  Get the contents of the Clipboard

  Copies the items from the Finder (at Destination)

  It all works, but only when there is 1 entry in my text file. As soon as I have 2 lines of text, I get the following error message:

  The action "copy Finder items" has not provided with the required data.

  How can I make this work with multiple entries?

  The problem is that you only pass the only element to the copy action (you have copied text), instead of an element for each line (paragraph) in the text.  The solution is to use the action filter paragraphs to break up along the borders of paragraph text, which will give you a list of items.  In addition, you do not necessarily have to use TextEdit or the Clipboard - If you already have a file somewhere, you can simply use the action to combine text files to read the text.

  With the above modifications, your workflow should look like:

  Ask the Finder items  (ask for a destination folder)

  Set the value of the Variable  (Destination)

  Ask the Finder items  (Download text files) - set the action to ignore the entry

  Combine text files  (read the text files)

  Filter paragraphs  (paragraphs which are not empty return)

  Copy the items to the Finder  (at Destination)

• Action of folder to create subfolders of files is passed in

  This is probably very simple, but can't seem to understand.

  I need a record of Automator action that will automatically create a subfolder with the same name as the element that fell into it.

  Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

  Without seeing your script, it's impossible to guess where you are having problems, but there are several things to consider:

  1. you cannot create a folder with the same name as the file, because you will have a name conflict (two elements in the same directory with the same name

  2 when you create the folder, the folder Action fires again because there's another new element in the folder

  There are solutions, however.

  For the second, your file must check if the newly added file was a file, in which case he must ignore (assuming that only the files dropped are valid).

  For the first problem you can create the directory, move the file, and then rename the directory, thus avoiding name conflicts.

  Hand, I don't know how to make this work in Automator (Automator workflow controls are awful, IMHO), but a simple AppleScript solution might look like:

  on Adding folder items to thisFolder after receiving of theseItems

  Repeat with eachItem in theseItems

• Film loop with automator doesn´t stay full screen.

  I m doing a video art installation with a 30-minute film that should loop several times. Simply put, I want the film to go as soon as the computer is started. Do that I ve done a soft in automator that I use as a start object. The app tells quicktime to open the movie and he play full screen and pass it when it s over. My problem is that the isn´t movie full screen every second time it s loop and every second it is. Does anyone have a solution for this? It must be full-screen all the time.

  Workaround solution, use this script in the "Run AppleScript" action:

  HI all, I have recently gone through paint.NET to photoshop elements and have also upgraded to windows 7. I would like to know how to install ps actions if you are using windows 7. List all tuts is xp or vista.  Can where I copy the .atn files? Any help is greatly appreciated!

  You can copy the .atn files in Windows 7 in the following location:

  C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\8.0\Locale\\Workflow Panels\actions

  You can run the recorded actions since guided Edit > automated actions > player action in the Photoshop Elements Editor.

  Not a big deal (just a bad and useless nuisance) on my MBP. But a real PITA on my headless Mac mini server

  I deleted all media, restarted Sierra and implemented everything is new. Nothing.
