• Deployment model fails with an error

  I am deploying a virtual computer model using the attached perl script.

• Question on the deployment model

  How big are the sites, i.e. how many users?

  If you can limit the number of cluster which is still preferred because you don't have to keep 2 separate systems, worry about separate upgrade, parity functionality between users, etc.

  Cluster geographically split as shown in option 1 is always a good idea as long as you can meet the stringent requirements listed SRND, i.e. a latency of less than 80 ms, sufficient bandwidth to DB replication and traffic of ICCS (pretty important), DB bandwidth for UCXN (7 Mbit/s by 50 ports0. It also comes with considerations for your building of CUCM group for redundancy, you local model of 1:1, 2:1, is the backup server to another place, etc, etc.

  Have you confirmed that the enable password is correct in the credentials of the device? (Device Center, select and modify the devices)

  Your EGGS could be damaged during the download. Try to test it with 7 - Zip or another program zip (a .ova is actually a zip file), verify the signature of the downloaded file's md5 or just download it again.

  I'm deploying a VM of SP1 W2K8R2 of model in vcenter 5.0 to ESXi 5 U1 U1 using a customization of OS including our volume license product ID.

  Check to see if anyone has a tip for the VM already activated after the deployment of the model?

  Even though I have filled in the spec of personalization product ID, it is not enabled and clicking on activate now option guests to change the product key (as if not carried over from spec customization).

  I would have posted this under vcenter, but do not have access to this forum for some reason any.

• No blue screens SP1 Windows Server 2008 R2 after the deployment model

  Hi all

  I searched around forums and google to see if someone else has fallen on this, but I can't seem to find anything.  I have a 4.1 ESX 1 environment with vCenter 4.1 update 1

  I created a new system of Windows Server 2008 R2 and it patched for the last levels without SP1.  I cloned then it to a model.  When I deploy a server through this model with customizations (new SID), blue ect just system screens and goes in a reboot of the endess.  If I have the model with no customizations are deployed, it works fine.  It seems the new sid or something that's a waste.

  Any thoughts?

• Deployed model = vm with double disk allocated

  I use vSphere 4.1 and ESXi 4.1 with current patches applied.

  After creating a model in the client and then to deploy the virtual machine using said model, I often (not always) find that the virtual machine is configured with almost two times more disk space than the model.

  For example:

  Model is created with 20G thin only HD

  After the deployment of a virtual machine with HD thin I see put into service: 40 G, non-shared: 14G, used storage: 14G (not shared) in the client resources of the interface component.

  What is a cosmetic problem?

  Any ideas if there is a problem and how / if it can be fixed?

• Deploy model with identical to Sysprep customization?

  I'm working on a Win2008 R2 model. Once I have the server ready to go with all the updates and all the twisted parameters, I don't know the proper procedure to turn this into a model and deploy other servers from it. It seems that I have two choices:

  1. simply spin the server in a model. When I deploy a new server from this model, make sure you use the customization. This resets the SID, allows me to type an IP address, etc.

  2 Sysprep this server by using the generalize option that once completed, stop the server. Turn him into a model at this stage. When you deploy a new virtual machine from this model, do not use the customizations.

  Note that you must add to the sysprep for old operating systems (2000, XP, 2003) in your vCenter Server Server to use the customization of comments.

• c_20127.NLS missing in deployment model

  The Mini Setup is looking for this file (' 'c_20127. nls ') when deploying a model. I checked the source of the template, and the file is included in the system32 folder. Once I confirm the Setup file works fine but obviously sorting.

  I replaced the sysprep with known working files but still the same problem?

  any ideas?

  Have you used nlite (http://www.nliteos.com/) to create ISO on which was built the original VM. If yes it is a known problem (I got it)

• Deployment models for the new cluster - "A" failed to Connect to Host

  Hi all

  I reorganized my ESX 3.5 2 130756 machines in a new cluster (they were already members of another cluster & lt; - this can be an important factor here).  When I try to deploy new virtual machines from templates to the new cluster, almost immediately, the task fails with the error "failed to Connect to Host."  Here's what I did on troubleshooting:

  -I confirm that nothing has changed on the console host IP and DNS service on the ESX host configuration

  -restart services on the ESX host management - tried again, failed.

  -removed and added hosts in cluster - tried again once, didn't

  -disabled DRS on cluster - tried again, failed.

  -confirmed I can deploy templates to other clusters

  -confirmed I can deploy a new virtual machine custom again cluster manually

  -restart the ESX and vCenter server hosts

  -removed ESX cluster hosts and destroys Cluster and file

  -recreated cluster and added guests, same error

  I think I've tried all the basics, but please let me know if you think something else to try.  In the VirtualCenter newspapers, there are the following entries whenever the task fails:

  It seems that the model does not really know where he lives.  I am trying to convert a virtual machine model and try to run a migration on it to a host.

  The models are in .hda format in this directory /data/workflow /.

  for example if you create mytemplate, then a file /data/workflow/mytemplate.hda is created.

  The models are listed in the file /data/workflow/wf_templates.hda IIRC

  Real workflow instantiated 'concrete' is in /data/workflow/design /.

  You need to spend to develop w/Firebug for Firefox. Using Firebug you can click "inspect" and move the mouse over the page to find the item you want. Once you click on the element you can see all the styles are applied, including the exact colors.
